Taking a star off because the last couple of visits, the lunch items have not been worth it. It's great for views, drinks, appetizers, and hanging out. But our $18 burgers today looked and tasted weird (probably frozen patties) and the fries came out cold and soft. Although we normally do seafood at the beach, we had the burger here before and really enjoyed it. They bring the food out on trays with metal covers, but I don't think that was the problem. We've never had a problem like this before. I think it sat too long and the food quality was just poor. When my mom politely told the server it wasn't hot and tasted strange, she just said ok. Didn't offer to get her something different, or dessert, or just some kind of discount. Last time the kids mac and cheese was cold and dry and they remade it. Hoping this isn't a trend. read more

Came for breakfast. It was a beautiful day! My granddaughter really enjoyed walking around and the pancakes. I had a beachcomber omelette which was lump crab and Swiss cheese. It was tasty. I wish there was more crab for the price. Had the key lime colada. It was different, the rim was a graham cracker crust. Decorated nicely with a pineapple and a cherry. Eddie was our server. He was really nice. We asked for some aioli for the potatoes, it took a while to get. It did arrive eventually to enjoy with the breakfast potatoes. For how beautiful this beach club and resort is, I was hoping the food and service would be exceptional. We arrived promptly at 12 pm for a reservation, and it took them about 15 minutes to set up our tables. Our waiter took our order about 20 minutes later, and we sat waiting for our food for about an hour. Despite the restaurant not being full, we were informed the kitchen was backed up. I ordered the pear and Gorgonzola salad with chicken. It was a very small portion and $25. Some of the chicken was pink and there were random pieces of Parmesan cheese in the salad, which was not supposed to be in the salad. My friend ordered a burger with cheese only. We did ask if they had a gluten free bun, and our server seemed to have no knowledge about what she was asking. Thankfully, her burger was brought to the table without the bun, however, it had lettuce and onions despite asking for the burger and cheese only. My friend's husband also asked for extra dressing, which we never received. Our waiter refilled our glasses a few times throughout our meal. We did stay about an extra two hours before cashing out, and at about the 1.5-2 hour mark, we no longer received service. If it wasn't so beautiful, this would've been a 2-star review. It's really more about the beach experience than it is the food. read more

This was ok. There is valet only parking although I was told later that you could try to self park but there are very few spots. The pool was right there behind you, and there were dunes in front so it wasn't exactly a great atmosphere. The salad was good but the salmon wasn't the best with some of the skin left on. We sat ourselves and would have had more to drink but the servers weren't coming around very often. It took us awhile to get the check and then to pay. I don't recommend for a business lunch or to come if you aren't staying at the hotel. If you are a guest on vacation, it's a perfect laid back atmosphere. read more

First off, and to be noted what a gorgeous setting this place offers. I came to meet with an English group for my first visit. We were set as a large group under the massive and impressive tiki hut, adjacent to the beach. The views are gorgeous. The server was friendly and efficient. The poor chap did all our charges separately, efficiently and with a smile. I told him so! I tried their lumberjack breakfast. It was pleasant, and as expected. I had a margarita $8 and we shared the Guacamole and chips $10. After 5pm about once a week they offer Oysters on a half shell for $1 a piece. Fresh, delicious and a bargain. Not your typical beach front tiki bar menu. Everything is good. They have fresh fish, NY strip steak, sandwiches, etc., but the star of the show is the tomahawk pork chop. Looks like something Fred Flintstone would order. Order an appetizer or salad and split the chop. Our server was very personable. The location is spectacular! Beachfront evening dining is in the shade of the building. Bar was good. Unfortunately I ordered the catch of the day and the fish was overcooked. Friends ordered surf and turf and steaks were all over cooked. Service was pretty good. I will try it again soon because of the location and setting. Breakfast on the beach with an incredible view... sign me up!! We stopped here on our trip one morning and boy were we glad we did! The kids played on the hammocks and in the sand, while we enjoyed a morning cocktail (pictured below). Our servers moved at a paced that matched our urgency (which in the moment was slow, lol) and it was a perfect morning. I got the corned beef hash, my wife got eggs and potatoes, and the kids got the custard French toast... holy smokes, that French toast was amazing! Today's luncheon with my ladies group. We were very impressed with our server- Britney. She took care of the table I was seated at. We had 2 tables. Britney made sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately. The calamari was dry & overcooked & my oysters with bacon & parmigiana was very dry. I did enjoy the Greek salad with wild salmon- so good- I had to take home. We were very lucky with a beautiful ocean breeze & gorgeous weather today on the beach. The sad take away from this was that management will no longer honor our group with separate checks. We know that it's not an easy request, however- this was our 3rd year here. We hope that they will change their mind & hopefully will be able to enjoy the view as well as the delicious food. We came here about 6 years ago and loved it but never left a review for some reason! I remembered walking down the beach from where we were staying and stumbling onto this place back then and decided to try it again last night. It was better than I remembered! With an outdoor fire pit and open air cocktail bar area, live music, and choice of seating either under the tiki hut or in the sand - all with unobstructed ocean views it's hard to find a bad seat here! Pros: 1) Service - on point, prompt, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter made great recommendations about the fresh fish and dessert choices. 2) menu selections - nice mix of choices, including apps, salads, fish, seafood, pork, beef, etc. something for everyone. Plus very easy to read and understand each item on the menu (unlike the overpriced Miami restaurant scene). Thoughtful variety of wine and cocktail selections - not overwhelming but certainly more than sufficient. 3) prices - extremely reasonable considering the location and ambience right on the beach! Our meal was under $200 for 2 people including a nice $89 bottle of Pinot noir! 4) food - we ordered the fresh catch of the day and it was cooked perfectly with butter, lemon and capers, butterflied whole. Also had the calamari which was perfect! And for dessert we had the key lime pie recommended by our server which had a thin layer of perfectly toasted merengue and was not overly sweet. It was the perfect size for us to split - not too huge, and just big enough to fill the sweet spot we had at the end of our meal. 5) quiet ambience - we could hear the ocean waves between music sets! We wandered over to the fire pit after our meal and talked to some nice people before heading back to our nearby hotel. Cons: I can't think of any! We will be back! read more

We were highly disappointed with our dinner. We ordered the Mahi and the daily special of Queen Snapper. Both were terribly over cooked. The manager offered us a free dessert but as we're not sweet eaters, we declined. No other offer was made. $140 for a pretty view and some well cooked asparagus, not a great deal! This was our first dinner in Pompano Beach and quite disappointing. Two stars for the view and asparagus. read more

Had the best breakfast here! Such a lovely location under a tiki by the beach at the beachcomber hotel. My boyfriend did such a great job picking this location. Our server Debbie was so sweet and convinced us both to order the best thing on the menu, the lobster Benedict! The food came so quickly i could barely get a few sips of my Bloody Mary in. The presentation of the plate was pretty with arugula and home fries. It was so Devine with a buttery taste each bite. The lobster paired with the hollandaise sauce so perfectly. It was by far the best meal we had in the area for the extended weekend. We'll be back and look forward to staying at the hotel. read more

If you are looking for a place on the ocean to get some decent food, then check out Deep. It's in the Beachcomber hotel so if you are looking for it- set your GPS to the Beachcomber. There is valet parking out front that they will add on to your bill at the restaurant if you remind them ($5) We got a table on the patio portion. There are also tables on the actual sand so if sitting with your feet in the sand is your thing, be sure to ask for those tables. I think they thought it was hot out, but it wasn't, so the table they sat us at first was directly in front of this giant fan blowing way too much air our way. We brought it up to our server and she quickly shut the fan off which was nice. The menu is varied- everything from burgers to salads- we had fish tacos and Fish and Chips along with some well poured Pina Coladas. We also had the conch salad which they had suggested but it was a bit disappointing as it wasn't all that flavorful. And on this Wednesday night, it wasn't all that busy so we had a straight view to the ocean. Decent food and fun beach drinks- not a bad combination when you add in the views! read more

The view the view and the food! Had breakfast here with my long time friend and left the hubbies at home. When being seated if the 4 top just outside the bar is available you will have an overview of some of the greatest views, that and no other tables close by! Yum and absolutely Yes to the Lobster Omelette, added a side of some perfectly cooked bacon and with just your everyday mimosa as a refreshing drink, you can't go wrong. My friend enjoyed her meal and we had great service, even if our waiter was confused as to who was paying. That's not his fault, it's the fault of two very determined and controlling women! I can't believe that I just discovered this spot! Deep ocean front restaurant is part of a small hotel on A1 a, and the most amazing part is that almost all of the tables face the ocean. Some of the tables are on the actual sand, and others are on a raised platform. There is also an indoor/outdoor bar, but the bar seats do not face the water. There was no wait for a table at 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon, so we were seated quickly at a great spot facing the ocean. I ordered the grilled calamari salad, which I would highly recommend. It's a nice, light dish for a hot day, and the preparation was perfect. My friend enjoyed her conch fritters. Although I would definitely come back for food, I plan to return quite frequently even if just for a few drinks. You truly can't beat the view here! read more

Beautiful atmosphere - beachfront, relaxing and comfortable tables beneath a large tiki type hut along with bar seating, tables in the sand and beanbag type chairs at a fire pit. The service was prompt and polite and the food was delicious (pricey though since it's mostly seafood). The conch fritters were yummy with a delicious filling (kinda like mini crab cakes, but with tiny bits of conch meat). I got Mahi Mahi with mango salsa and chose to get Cole slaw instead of the potatoes. It was seared well and delicious. My daughter enjoyed the calamari appetizer as her meal and my son liked the shrimp cocktail as his meal. There is a kids' menu with basic items, but no seafood. I ordered the special drink, popsicle mimosa. It had a perfect amount of champagne and OJ with a mango popsicle (made from mango juice and chunks of mango). It was fun and delicious. I also ordered a pain killer and it was okay (frozen drink). They were out of 3 out of 6 desserts, so I ordered the chocolate cake with raspberry syrup. It was very chocolatey and rich, but delicious. This place is pricey, but the quality food and ambiance are worth it. read more

My husband and I, along with two friends, had dinner last night at Deep Oceanfront Restaurant for the first time in a while. The menu has changed, but the new menu items are terrific. I had the Roasted Curry Cauliflower Salad and it was out of this world! I don't eat dairy, so I ordered it without the tzatziki and it was perfect. The curried cauliflower itself was really great - I wanted more! The crispy chickpeas were not the hard fried chickpeas you can buy in a bag from Publix, they were lightly coated, gently fried and crispy with a super-soft chickpea inside. So good! The artichokes, arugula, dried cherries and tomatoes all combined with the cauliflower and chickpeas to make the perfect (and healthy!) salad. My husband had his beloved Parmesan and garlic grilled oysters, which were also on the older menu, and is his favorite dish anywhere - huge oysters grilled with garlicky-good Parmesan cheese, and some bread to soak up the sauce. What's not to like? Our guests also split the Parmesan and garlic grilled oysters (on our recommendation), and also the Seafood Scampi with HUGE shrimp and they were in heaven. No leftovers for any of us last night! This unassuming restaurant, right on the beach, in a beachfront hotel, with tables in the SAND cannot be seen from the road. You have to walk to the back of the Beachcomber Hotel, where suddenly the magical lights and alfresco dining pops up right on the beach. A single guitarist sets the mood nicely. It's off the beaten path, but so worth finding. A true gem with excellent food and great cocktails. PS - order a dozen of the oysters - six is just not enough (so good!) read more

Do not eat here. The food is inedible. The chips are fried in old stale oil. The guacamole is tasteless and the salsa is watered down to the point where it tastes like tomato water. The service is terrible. Everybody ignores you and the ones that don't are miserable. The only good thing about this place is the bartender. She was very nice and made great drinks. read more

The view is amazing!!! Sea breeze blowing when you dine is absolutely amazing. I'm local so I'm rarely blown away by the beach but this ambiance was really nice. The food was just average. We ordered an all American breakfast, steak and eggs and the kids chocolate chip pancakes. read more
