On the way out to jump the car, the employee who was assisting me said yeah that is Mr X's car and it's a "piece of junk" speaking of my fathers vehicle. I said, "Excuse me?" He reiterated that it was junk and that it needed lots of repairs. First, that is rude. Second it does need a couple of things but it is actually a decent vehicle. An employee should never say that to a customer. Most importantly you jerk, my father died last week. I stopped at Bob Wade Subaru in Harrisonburg hoping they might have a solution. From the moment I arrived, Kas, Hunter, and Kenley in the service department jumped in to help. They searched for wheels and tires, called people they knew to see if my wheel could be repaired, and explored every option they could think of. I do most of the repairs on their cars when they are home and knew their vehicles well- but when they were away I needed another option. These folks are prompt, highly communicative, HONEST, and their prices are excellent. I never had them quote for unnecessary repairs. They provided some helpful suggestions to do repairs that were reasonable for very old vehicles. They do quality repairs and they honor their work. When I had a rebuilt alternator fail about a year after replaced- they replaced it with no charge for the unit (just labor). I've also had brake work and other repairs done there with excellent outcomes. If you're looking for a reliable mechanic for your college student away from home and are worried about being taken advantage of by an unknown mechanic- rest easy. These folks are outstanding and trustworthy. I wish I had them in my town- they would be my go to mechanic every time!
