Driving home from Arkansas to Connecticut after being away for months, I hit a massive pothole in Memphis that turned my trip into a nightmare. After three blown tires and hundreds of miles, one of my wheels finally cracked. With only a donut spare and no tire shops able to help because of my wheel and tire size, I honestly wasn't sure I was going to make it home. I stopped at Bob Wade Subaru in Harrisonburg hoping they might have a solution. From the moment I arrived, Kas, Hunter, and Kenley in the service department jumped in to help. They searched for wheels and tires, called people they knew to see if my wheel could be repaired, and explored every option they could think of. When nothing else worked, Kas did something I'll never forget. He sold me his own set so I could continue my trip home. Their kindness and willingness to help turned an incredibly stressful situation into a positive experience. I truly don't know if I would have made it home that day without them. Last year I decided to buy a car from this dealership. The overall sales process was very good, I showed up and was allowed to test drive the vehicle, then quickly went through the process of buying the car and along I went. Very pleased. It was a 2 year old car with 16,000 miles. Under factory warranty, a Motor Trend Certified Warranty, and an extended warranty I paid $2,000 for. 2 days after I buy it I'm headed back to drop off the title of the car I traded in and get my second key (the salesman forgot it in his pocket, no big deal), and my passenger side window stops working. I go in and tell him and he takes it over to their service department. Very polite and courteous. My friend and I were waiting for a while before a gentleman came out and gave us the keys to a loaner vehicle so we could go get some lunch. Again, I'm very pleased. So, a few months ago, I decide to take the car in to have it checked out. The transmission was jerking, making sounds, nearly stalling, and surging. When I make my appointment I ask if they'll have a loaner vehicle. They say of course, we'll have one ready. Great. Well, I drop it off and ask about the loaner car as I have somewhere to be. He calls someone and then asks me if I'm 21. I say no, I'm 19, is that a problem? He says yes, they only allow 21 year olds to drive loaners. I own the vehicle. I have full coverage insurance and proof of it. In my name. My driving record is spotless, yet he still tells me I can't get a loaner. Okay, so I can't get a loaner now, why was I given one a year ago when I was 18? Why didn't you ask my age over the phone to verify? Luckily I had someone nearby pick me up. We go on about our day. I call back and ask about the car. They say it's not done and they'll call when it is. Okay cool. I call again around 4 o'clock and no one answered. We drive over there and they tell me they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. Take it to the manufacturer. Um, okay, I bought it here because I purchased an extended warranty and was promised a loaner. This is the best part. When I get in the car, the mileage is the EXACT SAME as when I dropped it off. They didn't road test it. Even the service report has the mileage as the same. I specifically told them the transmission acts up in traffic. Even if they drove it, it was less than a mile. Kinda hard to diagnose a problem with that short of a test drive (however I don't think they did any at all). Buying a car here was a really nice process. Servicing it here sucks. Go somewhere else. read more

I had purchased a new Subaru Forester from Bob Wade 3 years ago. About 4 weeks ago my check engine light came on. I had my mechanic look at it and it was a P0452 code, Emissions system and said it was a very small leak. He cleared the code and it came back on the very next day. He did the smoke test and could not find the leak and replaced the gas cap. The light came back on the next day. He advised me to take it to the dealer. I call the service dept. at Bob Wade and explained what all was going on and what had been done to the car so far. They explained the would have to do their own Smoke test. When I called to make the appointment I explained it all again and that they said they would have to do their own smoke test and made an appointment to have that done. I dropped the car off Friday morning at 8:20am and said I was not going to wait because I knew the test took more than an hour. They said they would call me when they figured out the problem. By 2:15 I had not heard anything. I called them and they had not even looked at the car yet. When I asked if they were going to get to it today, he said he was not sure. The technician was testing driving another car and he would talk with him when he got back and give me a call. After 45 minutes I still had not received a return call, I call back and had to leave a message for the service department. I still had not received a call back after 15 more minutes. I decided to go see what was going on and got a ride to Bob Wade. They had pulled my car in and run the code but that was all they had done. When I asked what was going on, they went back to talk to the technician and he said he was not going to bother with it until Monday or Tuesday. I was told he had two engine jobs a head of me which nobody had said anything about when I made the appointment or when I dropped the car off. If they were not going to run the test until Monday or Tuesday why did they have me bring the car in on Friday? When were they going to bother to tell me I wasn't going to have my car for 5 days? At 5:00pm? How was I suppose to get home from work? read more

She was thrilled with her new car and buying experience, unfortunately she hit a deer just weeks after and the insurance co totaled it out. Had a minor tear in the CV boot. Decided to replace it which meant the entire axle would be replaced. Upon picking the car up and driving it home I heard a bad rattle from the front end on the same side the axle was replaced. I immediately returned to Bob Wade Subaru where service tech tried to say it was the strut. I explained this noise wasn't there prior to the repair being made. Now my wife is out of state and the rattle is so bad she took it in to another Subaru dealer. They found the axle was completely bound up and needed replacement. Said it was unsafe and may have damaged other suspension components. Bob Wade Subaru will no longer be trusted with the safety of my vehicle and family. They had 2 chances to correctly diagnose and repair their blunder. They instead tried to blame other and additional components rather than checking the obvious cause which was the component they had just replaced. read more

I love Bob Wade! I bought my first Subaru vehicle here back in 2012. They gave me an amazing trade in price for my Honda Civic and I walked out with a 2010 Forrester. It was my first car purchase and they worked their butts off at getting me a great loan. I'm not kidding the lady in financing was on the phone for 2 hours getting down my APR. And they were super patient that I was on the phone with my mom the entire time. Fast forward to 5 years later and my husband needed a vehicle. We were very firm about the most we could spend and could not put much down. Patrick and Jamie absolutely worked with our price points! Let us test drive a few Subarus within out price range as well as other used cars they had next door. We ended up with an 2008 Outback that we absolutely love! While we were financing they fixed an alignment issue, they lent us a gorgeous 2018 Outback to drive to the bank to pick up our down payment, and had the car ready for us when we got back! Our entire experience has been horrible. We've bought a car from them and were completely lied to by the salesman who apparently it was his last day. We were told the car had brand new tires when they just barely passed the motor trend certification standards. We waited over a weekend to pick up the car and when we went to get it it was dirty and the tire rotation and alignment was not done when it was in writing that it was to be completed before we picked the car up and by that time we were told we would have to wait until the following day. Went back the next afternoon after giving them a time that I'd be there and they said "no problem, it'll be done" and still had to wait almost an hour and a half. Had to take the car back in after a couple of weeks because it was still pulling to the right which we had been told would be corrected after "driving a few hundred miles". They took 5 days to "fix" it. The front brakes and rotors were replaced to attempt to "fix it" and when asked not even the service manager knew why it had been done. Picked it up and took it for a test drive only to find that the issues were still there. The service manager had the service department do a third alignment only to find out that the steel belt had separated on at least one of the tires and the tire had weak spots. The service manager was unable to deny to our face that this could have caused a wreck if and when it would have blown and I usually have our 3 year old child with me if I'm not driving the interstate to get to work. We have heard "we'll make this right" so many times from so many people that it no longer means anything. All of these issues were brought to the attention of the dealership immediately after the test drive and we were told that it the problems would "work themselves out". read more
