This place is so cute and has a beautiful view of the harbor. I love that you can sit inside or outside. This time I went on a quiet week day. The view was insanely beautiful that day. My friends and I decided to do the white wine tasting. I actually really liked the wine selection. They were really good. The only feedback I would give to potentially change.... There was no one there but my friends and I, and we had to keep pausing our conversation to go back inside to get our wine. And then we would lose track of where we were in the conversation. I wished we had like a flight so we could drink and not have to keep getting up. We all really enjoyed the cheeseboard with our wine. Some of the cheeses were delicious. I loved the pepperjam. I only wish it was a little bigger. I do love a good cheese board. I want to try some of the other food they offer as well. I will definitely go back again.

Came across this place after kayaking. Great tasting room, that overlooked the harbor! Ladies were helpful and even provided us an extra sip of a Cab. We bought a bottle for the night. Definitely coming back!

Here's what $15 gets you at Deep Sea.

Overpriced for small portions. I paid over $15 for a half glass, which looks like around 4 oz.

We're in the area for the summerfest Dog show and came over for drinks and dinner. Dog friendly wine bar with indoor & outdoor seating. Order at the counter and the friendly staff will serve you. Chill vibes make for an inviting spot.

Fun place to have wine tasting, pizza, all while overlooking the marina! Loved the location - loved the ambiance!

So thankful my yelp friend Eri G. finally brought me here. Having seen a lot of friends try this tasting room and have raved about their experiences, I knew it was on my must attend list. How can you go wrong with beautiful views of the harbor and wine? Deep Sea lives up to its name as they have transformed this space into the cutest little wine tasting room and outdoor covered patio. I love that their name represents their stunning and adorable ocean themed decor. It's done well and isn't too kitchy, they have a clean aesthetic with the right amount of sea decor and artwork. It's just so cute in here and you definitely must check it out for yourselves. I love inside the variety of seating options. They have small bar which was nice with views. The outdoor covered patio naturally was the most busy as you can beat the views of the harbor. Since we stumbled in late we weren't able to sit outside but inside on their leather couches was actually immensely comfortable. Aside from not having a view I think I'd prefer to sit here most times as it's just really comfortable and relaxed. The wine options were impressive. They had a lot of options to choose from which I appreciated. If you are needing a snack they do have light food bites but having already eaten we were mainly focused on the wine. I had their Riesling and my friend went with the Rose. I have to say they were both so delicious! I think I prefer their wines here over some others I've tried in the area. The wines aren't harsh and really are rather refreshing and the right about of sweetness and body for me, not too dry. I loved that these wines were really drinkable wines as some are just a tad too strong or acidic. Having tasted my friends rose and having a glass of white to myself, I was very happy with our choices. And it's just an extra bonus when the wine bottles are actually cute with marine and sea life artwork - would make for a great gift. Staff and service here was really good. They were busy so we didn't get a lot of one to one support or check ins but we were totally okay with that seeing how poppin this place was. The staff that work here are nice and friendly. I was able to meet one of the owners named Sally and she made me feel right at home. She didn't mind my questions and gave great recommendations. Despite being busy she still made an attempt to tell us a little about the business, upcoming holiday events, and just overall was a very nice gal. My friend confirmed that the service is always good here and that everyone is nice, which I could totally see. The Ventura harbor is super lucky to have this wine tasting room as it's a business well deserving of the space and gives us a nice variety for the closer beer bars and causal cocktail restaurants. Deep Sea fits right into the Ventura harbor vibes and is a must stop when you are here visiting or if you are a local then even better to get access to them all year round.

Never have I ever experienced wine tastings on a pier overlooking the ocean. It was just so beautiful and peaceful as you sip on a glass of wine. I didn't get a chance to do a flight of wine tastings since my daughter was with me. This wine bar allowed kids with their parents. Therefore, I just purchased a glass of sweet wine and snacks for my daughter. So content to relax in taking fresh air while capturing spectacular views. It's located on Stearns Wharf Pier which I think is such a great concept to have a wine bar with exceptional scenery. Lack of friendly service was present the only reason why I knocked out a star. Other than that, I would revisit hoping service will improve next time.

Finally made it here for the first time after having visited their Santa Barbara location. What a great place to sit back and relax with a glass of wine - definitely giving off the beachy/ocean vibes here. We sat outside and had a lovely view of the harbor. Light breeze bringing in that ocean smell. Wonderful. We had tried their signature flight at the SB location, so we wanted to give the all-red one a try here. While all the wines we had previously tried were great, the red wine is where it's at - no wonder they offer their Red Tasting Flight. Bonus points because they allow dogs here! Wish you didn't have to go up to the counter to get the next tasting as the up-and-down breaks up that relaxing vibe a bit. But overall, a wonderful tasting experience. We'll definitely be coming back!

Love!!! It was my first time at Deep Sea Ventura and I can't wait to go back. First and foremost the vibe is on point. It's super beachy which is perfect since it's located at the harbor. I love that all their bottles have a cute beach design as well. They also have a new bottle collab with CARL Dogs where they donate $1 back from each bottle purchased to CARL! This is a perfect place to relax with your pup on a weekend or after work. Cheese platter was small but good. I didn't try the pizza but it smelled amazing. The wine is great. I am not a rose drinker but I actually really liked their rose. They have an awesome 1 bottle membership for locals. You just have to buy 1 bottle and you get a free tasting every month!! Staff was so kind.

The ambiance and wine were really great! We loved being able to sit comfortably indoors, and also take a tasting outdoors seaside. It's just great all around. When we first arrived there was only one server so the service was slow. However, as the lunch hour continued 2 other servers arrived and the tasting plus snack were quicker and enjoyable. If you're looking for a great wine tasting experience with an even better view, check this spot out.

Christina was such a great host! Well it felt like you were in a home lol! Deep sea is so cozy and I felt like I was in my living room. I sat at the couches ! I really enjoyed the Christmas decor inside. I came during Ventura Harbor Winter Wonderland early in the day and went back later in the day to see the Parade of Lights. I enjoyed the white wine I had. I'm not usually a wine drinker lol ! I stick to beer and mixed drinks but this wine was great! I was at a brunch on Sunday that same weekend and brought my friend here after we ate in Downtown Ventura. We were celebrating Friendsmas. She loved it! We sat outside and people watched. Great times!

A cute little tasting room with a water front view. Excellent service and great selection of cheese. White Wine flight is great for a warm day. The cheese board comes with meat. Definitely worth it!!

I come here very often because I live close to. First, I love their wines. It's not the best wine but really smooth. I like the atmosphere. Very cozy. The place has nice harbor view. They don't have much food but have pizza, chocolate from Top This Chocolate and cheese plate. All taste good. Also it's ok if you bring food(no charge) They sometimes have a Bingo night (once a month). That's fun and nice prizes. Sometimes they have music too! If you become a member, you can get discount price. You have to commit one bottle of wine every month.

    Do they allow outside food?

We do not allow outside food, but we have a fairly extensive menu of flat bread pizzas, cheese and charcuterie boards as well as sweet deserts to accompany your wine tasting experience. Cheers!

Do they serve beer for the people that don't like wine?

No unfortunately, they do not. However, they have great food and I believe sparkling water or just regular water. Beautiful setting, right in Ventura Harbor. They also have charcuterie boards, cheese, chocolate. Try the rose, excellent so is the…

And we ordered the chefs charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was delicious! The bread was warm and obviously homemade. All the different cheeses tasted fresh and there were also candied walnuts which were fantastic. I was really impressed by their wine dispensers and how many varieties they had of different selections. I think overall we tried 4-6 different wines for less than $40. The ambiance of the inside reminds me a little bit of Squidwards house (but in a good way) with a high arched ceiling and classical decor. I would love to come back and try their other food and sample more wine.

Last December, a friend came across The Cave while looking for a place to have lunch in Ventura and…read moresuggested we give it a try. I'm really glad he did because it's the kind of place I probably wouldn't have found on my own. The first thing that caught our attention was the self-serve wine dispensers lined with bottles ready to sample. We had a lot of fun walking back and forth, looking over the different selections, and deciding what to taste next. Being able to sample wines by the ounce before committing to a full glass made the whole experience feel interactive. I especially liked that I could compare different Cabernet Sauvignons side by side, which isn't something you get to do very often. After trying a few different Cabernets, Chimney Rock ended up being my favorite. The dining room added to the experience. The cave-like ceilings, warm lighting, and comfortably spaced tables made it easy to settle in, enjoy our lunch, and catch up without feeling cramped or rushed. If you enjoy trying different wines, it's easy to lose track of time here. We started with a cheese plate, which turned out to be much more generous than I expected. It came with a nice assortment of cheeses, crisp apple slices, grapes, candied walnuts, crostini, and a savory relish on the side. It was a great dish to share with our wine. My friend ordered the tuna poke tower, and we shared the cheese flatbread and sweet potato fries. I went with the Original Cave Salad with salmon, which came with a generous piece of perfectly cooked salmon over fresh greens, apples, grapes, walnuts, and blue cheese. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that we left completely satisfied. One thing I appreciated was that we never felt rushed. Lunch naturally turned into an afternoon of catching up, comparing notes on the different wines, and deciding which pours we wanted to try next. Before we left, we wandered through the wine shop one more time. If you discover a favorite during lunch, you can pick up a bottle before heading home, which is a nice touch. I'm really glad my friend found this place. The next time I'm in Ventura, it'll definitely be on my list again.

We expect a certain standard, a level of care that borders on obsession. So when I catch Evan Williams--respectable, questionable, but barely twelve bucks a bottle--making an appearance behind the bar, it feels like a breach of trust. A quiet betrayal under low lighting. The illusion only works if the details hold up under scrutiny... and that pour? It broke the spell. And then comes the real offense: discovering that your Old Fashioned--the crown jewel of any respectable cocktail program--are built on bottom-shelf, dust-collecting bourbon. That's not just a letdown, it's a slap in the face. A cocktail like that deserves reverence, not shortcuts. And as if to twist the knife, there it was--a massive can of red maraschino cherries sitting shamelessly atop the bar, like some relic from a dive that's given up on finesse. It wasn't just a misstep. It was disrespect. In a place claiming the speakeasy mantle, details like these matter. They're the difference between theater and parody. The cocktails did not warrant the $15 price tag. Moreover, I would have paid more had I know the class of bourbon upfront. What ultimately redeems the space is its ambiance. The low flicker of the fireplace, the soft embrace of worn leather sofas, the curated hum of music floating just above conversation--it's seductive, even soulful. The room itself is small, intimate--the kind of place where you're bound to recognize a face, or at the very least, feel inclined to invite a stranger to share the sofa and maybe a story. And then there's the setting--tucked beneath a historic relic, a basement bar built into the bones of old Americana. The building dates back to the early 1900s, echoing with a past that deserves to be honored, not phoned in. That's exactly why I expected more from the cocktails. A place with this much atmosphere shouldn't fall flat when it comes to what's in the glass. It's a mismatch--a beautiful stage, but a script that doesn't quite rise to meet it.

It's a quaint, boutique winery and tasting room, which recently joined forces with the folks from Trois le Fou Winery. They each have their own tasting rooms, but they're joined and share a large production/barrel room area, which is also available for private events in addition to scheduled events and live music/comedy. On a Thursday night it was pretty dead but we didn't mind, WE ARE the party! The restaurant/ bar is surprisingly spacious which wasn't outright apparent from the outside. Once you walk in there is a nice long bar on the right hand side. A couple of booths and plenty of tables. It was actually a lovely evening (plus our group gets loud & rowdy) so we decided to sit outside on the high top patio table. It was perfect as it could fit the seven of us no problem. Initially i worried how service would be as we were alone on the patio but immediately my concerns went away as we had a fabulous bartender named Jordan helping us out. Despite making the drinks inside and engaging with customers at the bar, he was very attentive to our outside patio group. The drinks were brought out at an impressive pace and we felt valued as customers. Jordan gave great suggestions for shooters for us to try and also was overly accommodating, by allowing us to all pay separate/individual checks per our request. I grow to appreciate that more nowadays because some businesses do give patrons a hard time about splitting tabs. I was grateful despite being a big group he was willing to accommodate us. We only came for drinks, so I can't speak for the food but this spot is a solid bar. They have some interesting cocktails and I liked that they had a couple of shooter/shot options. Good selection of beer and even some wines. I really enjoyed both my Mexican candy shot and the purple heater shot that Jordan recommended for me and a friend. Drinks were cold and they kept flowing. Easy to give this spot 5 stars as the service was good, atmosphere was welcoming, and reasonable prices for being on Main Street. I'd definitely come back and would be happy to try some appetizers next time to see how the food is. My only baby upgrade is that the patio cushions on the chairs need a good wash or to be replaced. Otherwise everything else was clean from the tables, to the bar area, to the restrooms etc. The patio just needs a tiny bit of TLC which a couple of us noted. We had a great experience here though and I'm glad we stumbled upon this spot.
