We started with two tasting flights, and based on the staff's recommendation, I ordered a glass of the "Helmet" Pinot Noir. It was exceptionally smooth, full of flavor, and paired perfectly with the pita bread and hummus, our charcuterie plate, and the delicious pizza we enjoyed. During our visit, we also learned about their VIP membership program. What stood out most was that there is no membership fee--just a commitment to purchase a bottle each month, along with member discounts on purchases. Such a great experience here! The wine was delicious, and we ordered three of their flatbread pizzas--every single one was amazing. Our server, Jessica, was incredible and made the whole visit even better. She mentioned their pizzas were better than Toppers, and honestly... I have to agree! My friends and I decided to do the white wine tasting. I actually really liked the wine selection. They were really good. The only feedback I would give to potentially change.... There was no one there but my friends and I, and we had to keep pausing our conversation to go back inside to get our wine. And then we would lose track of where we were in the conversation. So thankful my yelp friend Eri G. finally brought me here. Having seen a lot of friends try this tasting room and have raved about their experiences, I knew it was on my must attend list. How can you go wrong with beautiful views of the harbor and wine? Deep Sea lives up to its name as they have transformed this space into the cutest little wine tasting room and outdoor covered patio. I love that their name represents their stunning and adorable ocean themed decor. It's done well and isn't too kitchy, they have a clean aesthetic with the right amount of sea decor and artwork. It's just so cute in here and you definitely must check it out for yourselves. I love inside the variety of seating options. They have small bar which was nice with views. The outdoor covered patio naturally was the most busy as you can beat the views of the harbor. Since we stumbled in late we weren't able to sit outside but inside on their leather couches was actually immensely comfortable. Aside from not having a view I think I'd prefer to sit here most times as it's just really comfortable and relaxed. The wine options were impressive. They had a lot of options to choose from which I appreciated. If you are needing a snack they do have light food bites but having already eaten we were mainly focused on the wine. I had their Riesling and my friend went with the Rose. I have to say they were both so delicious! I think I prefer their wines here over some others I've tried in the area. The wines aren't harsh and really are rather refreshing and the right about of sweetness and body for me, not too dry. I loved that these wines were really drinkable wines as some are just a tad too strong or acidic. Having tasted my friends rose and having a glass of white to myself, I was very happy with our choices. And it's just an extra bonus when the wine bottles are actually cute with marine and sea life artwork - would make for a great gift. Staff and service here was really good. They were busy so we didn't get a lot of one to one support or check ins but we were totally okay with that seeing how poppin this place was. The staff that work here are nice and friendly. I was able to meet one of the owners named Sally and she made me feel right at home. She didn't mind my questions and gave great recommendations. Despite being busy she still made an attempt to tell us a little about the business, upcoming holiday events, and just overall was a very nice gal. My friend confirmed that the service is always good here and that everyone is nice, which I could totally see. The Ventura harbor is super lucky to have this wine tasting room as it's a business well deserving of the space and gives us a nice variety for the closer beer bars and causal cocktail restaurants. Never have I ever experienced wine tastings on a pier overlooking the ocean. It was just so beautiful and peaceful as you sip on a glass of wine. I didn't get a chance to do a flight of wine tastings since my daughter was with me. This wine bar allowed kids with their parents. Therefore, I just purchased a glass of sweet wine and snacks for my daughter. So content to relax in taking fresh air while capturing spectacular views. It's located on Stearns Wharf Pier which I think is such a great concept to have a wine bar with exceptional scenery. Lack of friendly service was present the only reason why I knocked out a star. Finally made it here for the first time after having visited their Santa Barbara location. What a great place to sit back and relax with a glass of wine - definitely giving off the beachy/ocean vibes here. We sat outside and had a lovely view of the harbor. Light breeze bringing in that ocean smell. Wonderful. We had tried their signature flight at the SB location, so we wanted to give the all-red one a try here. While all the wines we had previously tried were great, the red wine is where it's at - no wonder they offer their Red Tasting Flight. Bonus points because they allow dogs here! Love!!! It was my first time at Deep Sea Ventura and I can't wait to go back. First and foremost the vibe is on point. It's super beachy which is perfect since it's located at the harbor. I love that all their bottles have a cute beach design as well. They also have a new bottle collab with CARL Dogs where they donate $1 back from each bottle purchased to CARL! This is a perfect place to relax with your pup on a weekend or after work. Cheese platter was small but good. I didn't try the pizza but it smelled amazing. The wine is great. I really enjoyed the Christmas decor inside. I came during Ventura Harbor Winter Wonderland early in the day and went back later in the day to see the Parade of Lights. I come here very often because I live close to. First, I love their wines. It's not the best wine but really smooth. I like the atmosphere. Very cozy. The place has nice harbor view. They don't have much food but have pizza, chocolate from Top This Chocolate and cheese plate. All taste good. Also it's ok if you bring food(no charge) They sometimes have a Bingo night (once a month). That's fun and nice prizes. Sometimes they have music too! Came here for a tasting for someone's birthday, but really, do you need any reason to wine taste? The views would've been phenomenal had it not been for the treacherous winds and rain. At least the views made for a thrilling time as we watched the boats rock from side to side. You can pick a choice of white, red, or mixed flights. I was able to sample both the mixed and red flights. Obviously opinions differ on wine tasting, but I prefer reds and enjoyed the red flights most of all. They were complex, interesting, and distinctive. I believe it was $24 for each flight of 5. What I liked about this winery is that you go to the counter to get your next tasting. So that means you don't feel like someone's hovering to pour you another glass and feel like you have to chug the rest of your sample. You simply go up to get the next tasting when you feel like it. The staff was friendly. The inside was nice and spacious, with a choice between sitting on the couch or sitting at tables. I also had a charcuterie board. It was a small platter with nuts, various cheeses, and salami. It was a nice pairing with the wines, and a nice addition to make sure you have something to eat while drinking. I love this wine tasting room! It's our favourite to return to in the Ventura area. The staff here have always been friendly, approachable and informative. When we order flights, they are ready to explain a little about the grape, wine and story. We have learnt a lot about wine from their service. The ambiance is beachy and Californian. It feels open and light, with space outside, at the bar and on the shop floor to sit for different energy meetings. I like how the space is laid out and the fact you can look out onto the harbour. The wines were always excellent and you can order flights or by the glass. They offer a few options for food too, so you don't have to just get gradually more drunk. We normally come as a family, but it's great for a date, girls night out etc. service is always top notch, and happy to make your experience best they can. I had a glass of the Sauvignon blanc (juicy and yummy) and my friends enjoyed their flight. You order at the counter and can sit where you like. For the flight, you go back to the counter for each new tasting. I think we would've ordered more wine if we were checked on and didn't have to visit the counter each time (we were feeling a bit lazy that day). I really enjoyed the charcuterie selection and was very pleased there was no prosciutto (I know I'm a weirdo for not like prosciutto!). We were driving down from Santa Barbara to Malibu, and decided to stop in for a little wine-tasting. So glad we did! We have been to their location at the end of the wharf in Santa Barbara, but first time here, and it's another great location, right in the plaza overlooking the marina. It was a sunny, fall day, so we sat out on the patio, and did a couple tastings. The sea-themed labels and names were all very fun, and we really liked several of the wines. My favorite was the 2021 Devilfish - a blend of Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Franc, with a manta ray on the bottle. My husband really liked the "Helmet," a 2021 Pinot Noir. And we both liked the "Duel," a blend of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto (I think that had a dueling whale and squid on the bottle). I actually liked the Seahorse Sauvignon Blanc, too. We ended up joining the Wine Club, and got 20% off 4 bottles, one tasting free, and are looking forward to returning! read more

Then we were forced to walk back-and-forth up to the bar in order to have our next wines. Even though the restaurant was not full, they refused to walk over and serve the wines. Of course we didn't expect it to be like NAPA in Sonoma exactly because we are in Ventura County however we did expect to be treated with respect and kindness. Both servers were extremely rude and quick with us. The restaurant was also dirty with glass left on tables from previous customers. They were allowed to linger for more than 30 minutes. We even had to sit at a table that was dirty and the previous patrons glasses stayed on that table the duration of our visit. This place should not be called a wine tasting room. Most wine tasting rooms care about the customers experience. As a matter of fact, the customer experience is Paramount. Not at deep sea wine tasting room my date who is 71 years old Had to walk back-and-forth to the bar to get our next tasting, meanwhile, the two bar attendance were in their mid 20s and too lazy to walk 10 steps to our table to pour our wines wines and offer their descriptions. Also, I informed them that I am vegan and was looking for options other than the cheese plate. Angelina suggested the hummus, and she brought it out to me, and when I double checked to find out if the crackers were vegan, she rolled her eyes and told me yes. I asked to see the ingredients and when I read the ingredients I found out that there was milk in the crackers. It just boils down to bad customer service, a lack of attention to details and no respect for elders and customers.. also my dates bread was burned on his charcuterie board. None of the wines were even described to us due to having to walk back-and-forth to the bar. Anyways, I would say don't take Ventura Harbor wine tasting seriously. It really should not be called that it's just a bar serving wine. The staff is not trained nor competent enough to host wine tastings. George was by far the worst server I've ever met in my entire life. When my date and I tried to talk to him about the service and get information on how things worked here he was over the top, extremely rude and disrespectful. This is our favorite hang out place! When I go out, I don't do it for food. I do it for atmosphere! We can make food at home, but I need to step out of my environment, relax, and unwind. The pizza they offer is perfect! It's unique and flavorful. Definitely a hidden gem! George behind the counter is always charming and fun to be around We've attended their flights and feathers event in the past, which was a "hoot" (get it??) Last time we were there, we had a sample of their discontinued wine and walked out with the rest of the bottles they had We committed to being a member of their wine club, which gives us a bottle a month, so anytime the fancy strikes us to head out. Had always seen this on our walks at the Harbor. My husband doesn't like wine so didn't want to go tasting on my own. Luckily my MIL was staying with us and is always up for wine tasting. It's a really cute spot. Has indoor and outdoor seating. I loved the decorations they have inside. There were two bartenders. They were both very sweet. I am someone that picks wine based on the flavors and label artwork. I love the artwork they have picked. Definitely eye catching. The names are really cute as well and it matches the artwork on the bottle. There are two different tastings you can. One all red and the other is a mix between red and white. We decided to do the red tasting. We liked all of the blended ones. We tend to like more bold wines. They others were still very tasty. My MIL ended up getting their membership and got the Devilfish Red Blend which we finished that same night. Overall, cute little place. We will be coming back.
