Buddys is a true home town wine bar. Filled with all of your neighbors and is just welcoming. They always have weekend food pop ups, plus their chicken sandwiches are [chefs kiss]!

Wow what a night. I got there around 4:30pm to enjoy a drink before an event. The service was good. I actually had wine and a beer .. so two drinks :) This place offers such a great space for the community. They have something I love a ...calimocho (kalimotxo ) :) The real ones know . Ok, it's a drink with red wine and coke! Takes me back to Spain! One of my friend tonight tried it and like it. I just wanted to say thank you for the multiple events they hold that benefit our community!!!

I absolutely love Buddy's Wine Bar in Ventura. I've been a few times now and find this spot to be so lovely, casual, and just the ultimate vibe. Shoutout to Jara and the yelp team for introducing me to this spot initially. I saw how special it was and am happy to have gotten to come back a few times which further has validated my love for this bar. The overall aesthetic and ambiance of the bar is lovely. Feels like you're in Europe and just a great layout with a mixture of small tables, booth like seats and bar top. I like when you walk in they have bottles for sale and little items to shop. Further back is the actual wine bar area. Buddy's is a hot and popular place that's for sure, everytime I've come in here by 6pm it feels like every seat is taken. So pro tip is to get here a little early. Love seeing that they have a fanbase and lots of locals. Staff are very welcoming and nice. Attentive when you go up to the bar to order your wine and I appreciate that throughout the night they cleared our glasses and kept things moving. I've met the owners and they are very nice and make you feel appreciated. I'm still learning about wine and I appreciate that they never mind my questions and have helped me find what I like. The do have a small tapas and food menu here that I'll need to try next time. They also have pop ups and food vendors from time to time which is awesome. The wine here is exceptionally good. Great variety which makes it a perfect spot to go with friends who all have different tastes. I like their rose and oranges here. Really though I love their drink inspired from Spain- red wine and Coca Cola. So fun and unique to get in the 805. Pours are substantial and I feel like the pricing is fair. They have happy hour too which is super appreciated. Buddys is definitely one of my favorite stops for wine and good company in the 805. Can't wait to bring more friends, it's such a great vibe here and their rotating wine menu keeps me coming back.

Lovely establishment that is women owned! Always friendly service and the joy is felt. They have a nice selection of wines, live music sometimes, always hosting things on different days, and sometimes have food trucks! Try 'em out.

The hotdogs are a must! The wine is so delicious and come for trivia on Tuesdays! It's the most fun ever!!

Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings.

And we ordered the chefs charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was delicious! The bread was warm and obviously homemade. All the different cheeses tasted fresh and there were also candied walnuts which were fantastic. I was really impressed by their wine dispensers and how many varieties they had of different selections. I think overall we tried 4-6 different wines for less than $40. The ambiance of the inside reminds me a little bit of Squidwards house (but in a good way) with a high arched ceiling and classical decor. I would love to come back and try their other food and sample more wine.

Last December, a friend came across The Cave while looking for a place to have lunch in Ventura and…read moresuggested we give it a try. I'm really glad he did because it's the kind of place I probably wouldn't have found on my own. The first thing that caught our attention was the self-serve wine dispensers lined with bottles ready to sample. We had a lot of fun walking back and forth, looking over the different selections, and deciding what to taste next. Being able to sample wines by the ounce before committing to a full glass made the whole experience feel interactive. I especially liked that I could compare different Cabernet Sauvignons side by side, which isn't something you get to do very often. After trying a few different Cabernets, Chimney Rock ended up being my favorite. The dining room added to the experience. The cave-like ceilings, warm lighting, and comfortably spaced tables made it easy to settle in, enjoy our lunch, and catch up without feeling cramped or rushed. If you enjoy trying different wines, it's easy to lose track of time here. We started with a cheese plate, which turned out to be much more generous than I expected. It came with a nice assortment of cheeses, crisp apple slices, grapes, candied walnuts, crostini, and a savory relish on the side. It was a great dish to share with our wine. My friend ordered the tuna poke tower, and we shared the cheese flatbread and sweet potato fries. I went with the Original Cave Salad with salmon, which came with a generous piece of perfectly cooked salmon over fresh greens, apples, grapes, walnuts, and blue cheese. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that we left completely satisfied. One thing I appreciated was that we never felt rushed. Lunch naturally turned into an afternoon of catching up, comparing notes on the different wines, and deciding which pours we wanted to try next. Before we left, we wandered through the wine shop one more time. If you discover a favorite during lunch, you can pick up a bottle before heading home, which is a nice touch. I'm really glad my friend found this place. The next time I'm in Ventura, it'll definitely be on my list again.

They offer an accessible wine tasting experience that's enjoyable for both wine enthusiasts and a first time wine tasting encounter. Majestic Oak features Rhône varietals such as Syrah, Grenache and a lesser known Cinsault. We are members of their wine club because of the quality of their wines and the value. The rich reds that we selected were sourced from local Ojai vineyards as well as the best of the Santa Barbara County growing regions. They also offer beautiful white wine varieties that call for a summer picnic or garden party. We loved the Bruce's Rose that celebrates their mascot, Bruce. If you know me, then you already know... this is my happy place…read more I don't even know where to begin because this place has become so much more than a tasting room to me. Majestic Oak is my happy place. Seriously. The second I walk downstairs, I instantly relax. I don't know what it is... maybe it's the red umbrellas, the beautiful greenery, the cozy little patio, or just the overall atmosphere. I close my eyes for a second, take a deep breath, and it honestly feels like I've escaped into my own little world. I come here about once a month, and there's a reason I became a wine club member. Yes, the location is absolutely beautiful, but let's talk about the wine... every. single. one. has been amazing. I'm usually more of a red wine girl, but even their whites have surprised me. They're crisp, refreshing, and just plain delicious. I honestly haven't had a wine here that I didn't love. But what really keeps me coming back is the people. Rita deserves the biggest shout-out. It's not just that she takes amazing care of us every time we visit. It's her personality. Her knowledge. Her passion for the wines. She makes you feel like you've been friends forever, and somehow every visit feels even more special because she's there. She has this way of making everyone feel welcome, and that kind of hospitality is something you can't teach. For me, Majestic Oak isn't just somewhere to drink wine. It's where I go to slow down, breathe, laugh, and enjoy life for a little while. It has become my home away from home, and I honestly can't imagine a month going by without stopping in. If you're anywhere near Ojai, do yourself a favor and visit. Come for the wine... stay because you'll probably fall in love with everything else too. One last thing... we stopped by today, as usual, and Kristy took such incredible care of us! She was so welcoming, attentive, and made our visit just as memorable. It reminded me that the amazing service here isn't just one person; it's the culture. Every visit leaves us feeling like family, and that's something truly special. (Oh... and if you see Bruce, make sure you say hi! He's the sweetest little furball and just might steal your heart before your first sip of wine. ) Thank you, Majestic Oak, for creating a place that truly feels... Majestic.

On a Thursday night it was pretty dead but we didn't mind, WE ARE the party! The restaurant/ bar is surprisingly spacious which wasn't outright apparent from the outside. Once you walk in there is a nice long bar on the right hand side. A couple of booths and plenty of tables. It was actually a lovely evening (plus our group gets loud & rowdy) so we decided to sit outside on the high top patio table. It was perfect as it could fit the seven of us no problem. Initially i worried how service would be as we were alone on the patio but immediately my concerns went away as we had a fabulous bartender named Jordan helping us out. Despite making the drinks inside and engaging with customers at the bar, he was very attentive to our outside patio group. The drinks were brought out at an impressive pace and we felt valued as customers. Jordan gave great suggestions for shooters for us to try and also was overly accommodating, by allowing us to all pay separate/individual checks per our request. I grow to appreciate that more nowadays because some businesses do give patrons a hard time about splitting tabs. I was grateful despite being a big group he was willing to accommodate us. We only came for drinks, so I can't speak for the food but this spot is a solid bar. They have some interesting cocktails and I liked that they had a couple of shooter/shot options. Good selection of beer and even some wines. I really enjoyed both my Mexican candy shot and the purple heater shot that Jordan recommended for me and a friend. Drinks were cold and they kept flowing. Easy to give this spot 5 stars as the service was good, atmosphere was welcoming, and reasonable prices for being on Main Street. I'd definitely come back and would be happy to try some appetizers next time to see how the food is. My only baby upgrade is that the patio cushions on the chairs need a good wash or to be replaced. Otherwise everything else was clean from the tables, to the bar area, to the restrooms etc. The patio just needs a tiny bit of TLC which a couple of us noted. We had a great experience here though and I'm glad we stumbled upon this spot.

WINES: Their wines change regularly, as they purchase their fruit from Paso Robles, Lodi, and San Antonio Valley, among other places.
