Good drinks and good food. Plenty of seating outside. It was a good fit for our group. Was quite a surprise when last night we arrived to find a private event happening. I realize that the Tavern hosts private events, I saw that on the website. Neither Katie nor I discussed the possibility of a conflict when I spoke with her, so part of this is on me, but as the event coordinator, most of it was on her. Doesn't she have a main calendar for events? Because if she does, we weren't on it. The security fetched Katie, and she matter-of-factly stated that they were hosting a private event, so the venue was not available. She never apologized, seemed to not care that we had 30-40 people showing up at a place that was now unavailable to us. She stated, again matter-of-factly with no apology, that it was wedding season and events were her priority. So, the Tavern? Probably a great place for events, and a fun bar with good food, but their event coordinator definitely needs better communication and better organization.
