Marissa and Nina have worked magic on my foster fail, Cammie Marie Pibble. She came to us very skittish, malnurished, and scared of everything. She also came to us thinking other dogs were food not friends (she needs to hear the sharks in finding Nemo again apparently.) After nearly 4 weeks of board and train, Cammie is learning to peacefully (and obediently) coexist with the littles. I am so proud of my pup and in awe of Marissa and Nina for the profound difference in Cammie's confidence and ability to follow direction. She is so happy with her new found calm state that all I can say is that I wish I had dropped her off sooner!! They come to you to pick up your pup and provide progress reports along the way. I can't say enough great things about Nina (and I'm pretty sure my friends and family are tired of hearing about our training with her). We adopted a Belgian Malinois from a local rescue and started working with another trainer as soon as we brought him home. I can't tell you how many times I tried to walk this beast and would come home crying because "I will never be able to just go on a leisurely walk with him!!" We then met a man with a malinois also who raved about Nina, so we decided to give her a call. Ladies and Gentlemen, not only does our dog now have amazing recall, he walks beautifully on a leash but is actually able to be an off-leash dog most of the time! Having a working breed dog is not something that most trainers are used to working with (and no, a lab isn't the same as a malinois). I am very grateful for all the work Nina and Marissa have done for our Yorkie--Chewy. I reached out when Chewy was a little puppy of 15 weeks and they offered a free in-home evaluation. I signed up for puppy lessons and we worked on basic puppy skills and handling. Their invaluable advice back then literally saved me from going insane--potty training a yorkie is the worst lol! My dog Panda had extreme reactivity to anything that moved. We started seeing signs of a problem when he was about 4 months old. At 5 months, he ran to and bit our sweet and understanding neighbor with no provocation. We realized that we had a serious problem developing. Over the course of the next 7 months, we went through several pure positive trainers and training methods. This works for many dogs, but for Panda's extreme anxiety, it did not. He continued to escalate and when he turned 1, I broke down in tears as I was losing this boy by degrees. We went through several trainers, hundreds of training hours (with trainers and personally), and thousands of dollars trying to help him. It was so bad, I even considered having his teeth removed (I know, crazy). Almost every trainer at that point had said we either needed to put him down or that "he is just a dog that needs to be locked up when people are around and kept at home away from the public." Thats like going to an Oncologist and having them say "Well you have cancer, so go home as there is nothing we can do". DeepWater has changed our lives. Panda leads a full life. We can run off leash, we can enter crowded areas, we can pass playgrounds and dog parks without issue. We love the weekly group outings. It gives Panda a chance to challenge his skills and gives me the security of having experts on hand for advice. Plus its just nice to get together with like minded people :) I advocate for these trainers fiercely because they saved our beloved dog and gave us the training and tools to share a wonderful full life with Panda. Without them, we were in unbelievable despair. Many dogs like Panda are put down or relinquished to shelters with no positive future in sight. It simply does not have to be. Knowledgeable, professional and they know their stuff around dogs. My dog was having a hard time accepting a new love in my life and I needed help. Training was done at our home in 3 sessions. I have nothing but gratitude for Nina!! She has helped me so much with my Malinois mix pup that I rescued, Ive never had a dog that needed to be mentally worked like he does and she has given us all the tools and he's become an amazingly trained pup, I get complements all the time on how well he behaves from friends, strangers and even our vet. Nina is so knowledgeable and she takes the time each class to make sure all my questions are answered and never feel like she's rushing me out or I'm asking too many questions even though half mine start with "this might be a stupid question but". DeepWaterK9 is the best. My roommate brought home a Belgian Malinois puppy. If you don't know what that is, think German Shepard but crazier. We heard great things about some up an coming trainers so we gave them a shot. They worked with our crazy puppy who was always pulling on the leash and attempting to snap at people, and now we can go on leash-free walks(where allowed) and he stays with us, and doesn't snap at everything that moves.
