I went back with him the second time and was not impressed. I then took our cat without him. She was being hostile but the vet was so rough with all 3 pounds of her. When he gave her her shots he kept taking the needle in and out of her and even though he called someone in to help him, he would not give up any control. As soon as we got her home, I noticed she was limping. This continued on for roughly a week before I called for advice or an appointment. I explained what happened to the person who answered the phone. The vet then got on the line and was very confrontational. I explained to him that even if he refused to take accountability that my cat was still hurt and I needed either advice or an appointment. We showed up today and I already knew we were going to have issues. I understand that I would not let him use the bigger towel (I brought my own) because I believed that's one of the reasons why he hurt the cat in the first place. It was too big and bulky to feel her and how rough he was being with her. He also wanted one of his people to handle her since it would be a liability if I got hurt. I told him that she's my cat and my husband told them we would sign a liability waiver. I told him that I know and I apologize for not being as accommodating as he's like but he's hurt her before and refuses to acknowledge that and I'm unwilling to let it happen again. He told us he was pulling our records and we could go somewhere else. Honestly had he had ANY type of bedside manner or accountability I would've felt differently but I truly feel that it's a defect in his mentality. An older man who cannot take any sort of criticism or being challenged.

Our kitty Farty started bleeding one day, stopped eating and moving. We took him to an emergency vet, and they basically said there was nothing they could do, and he was fine. After 3 days or trying to get to eat, drink, ect we, we feared that we would have to put him down. He was fading quickly, and we hated watching him suffer. My mom wanted to try and took him here, and thanks to the doctors collaborating and trying to figure out what was wrong, they were able to bring him back to his old self after weeks of care. He had a severe undiagnosed UTI, hyperthyroidism, and possible IBD. He was on deaths door, we were so heartbroken, and because of the caring of this vet, they were able to bring him back to his old self. I also recently brought my kitty Tiny in a panic due to her not keeping any food or liquid down, and they fit me in and were extremely understanding even though they were short staffed that day. This is the best vet I've been too and I always feel listened to, and I feel like they care about the animals so much. Every time I'm here, the phones are ringing off the hook, and I can see why. This is possibly the best vet in the area.

Probably nothing crazy, but super pissed when the staff reply was "we sent you a cancellation email and will need to reschedule" (Not a thing, didn't happen). I would think best practice for cancellations would be a phone call. Lastly, after checking in my boy....Witten and they had his chart up. The lady kept calling him Whitney and "her"......,I know that's small... but, like, read or listen to what I was saying. Only customer in the office btw; sound was no issue. I will hate to drive to lampasas, but whoever Dr Rushing is... apparently these kinds of customer service issues are few and far between and he is like some kind of animal Jesus. Dr. Imma came to our home and treated our old girl with grace and dignity, and she was able to peacefully pass with her family by her side, comfortable in her "spot." Oscar came to collect our kitty with a beautiful woven basket and cozy blankets and treated her with so much respect and kindness. I can't thank the entire staff enough for making this extremely difficult process as easy as possible. Truly a blessing in such a difficult time for our family.

Recently visited this store to purchase tropical fish. A prominently posted sign on a tank…read moreindicated that all tropical fish and plants were 40% off. The person who retrieved my fish selections confirmed the info on the sign about the 40% off and told me which tanks that applied to. I got a couple of higher priced fish from those tanks knowing that the discount would help with the cost. When I got to check out the cashier told me that discount was only for their Rewards customers .. which I am not nor wish to be. I do not have an issue with complying with store policies IF I know in advance what they are. All they had to do was put the words "for Rewards Customers" on the sign. I suspect that the store is trying to take advantage of customers who would not pay attention to what price was charged at check out. Not only is this a bad business practice, the store lost a sale and I will use one of the other pet stores in the area. And I suspect continuing this misinformation will not help you compete with PetCo or PetSmart, Which BTW are just a 15 minute drive from your location.
