Can I write a review about a golf course when I actually have not played golf on it. I can, and I…read morewill. My Kiwanis group has been having our golf outing here for many years and I have really gotten a feel for just how special this course is to be on and part of. Our outing is usually a 12pm shotgun and we fill up all the holes with foursomes. This comes after a beautiful breakfast then some time on the driving range. I don't play but I am always there with my camera as the official photographer. They do such a great job for our breakfast buffet. Plenty to choose from and all fresh and tasty food. Once the golfers hit the links you can always see and hear what an excellent course this is. It is very challenging, well maintained. They refer to it as a golfer's "golf course." The holes are challenging and fun. The greens and fairways are very well maintained and there are always plenty of rangers on the course helping to keep the golfers moving along. After a day of golf, we have a gala cocktail hour and dinner. We have been coming here for many years and they have always presented a beautiful evening for us. Great food, wonderful service and a comfortable venue with a beautiful view. I know many people who have either got married or celebrated a personal milestone here... everyone happy with the event. Very good and reasonably priced golf course. The course is maintained well and is always a delight…read moreto play. The 9 hole course is a shorter course with mainly par 3s and a few par 4s. Only downside is that the holes are placed really close to each other, so you have to make sure to watch out for errant shots from other holes

That's why I was genuinely surprised and disappointed by how my recent visit to Engineers Country Club was handled. I visited as a prospective member, sincerely interested in what the club had to offer. However, expectations around prior golf experience and etiquette were not communicated in advance. My experience has mostly been recreational (e.g., Topgolf), and had I known that a higher level of familiarity was expected, I would have welcomed the opportunity to take etiquette lessons or ask questions beforehand. Instead, I was informed after the fact that staff had seen us on the course and complained. At no point did anyone approach us directly to explain any concerns until after the fact. We were told we might be perceived as "fooling around," though that phrase was never defined, and notably, there was only one other member or guest visible on the course at the time, far away from our golf cart. The implication that our presence was disruptive felt both unclear and unfair. There was also confusion about attire. It was implied that women's dresses for golfing were not acceptable, though that wasn't clarified in advance and wasn't addressed with us in real time. The experience lacked the transparency and hospitality that prospective members deserve. A brief orientation or a simple, respectful conversation could have made a meaningful difference. I hope this feedback helps the club reflect on how it welcomes and communicates with future visitors who come in good faith and with a genuine desire to be part of the community.
