We enjoyed ourselves while we were there, the issue was leaving the park trying to board the shuttle buses. It was extremely crowded even for the BMW owners. I can tell they tried to make it less of a a headache for those that were in attendance. I cant even recall how many times the owners parking lot was moved!! The owners pavilion really nice and a way to relax to get food and drinks. It just so happened that while we was up there.. Zach Johnson's mom walked up and was chit chatting with us about her son on the 17th teeing off!! lol!! was Definitely an experience!! Man I missed my check in here..... :)

The entrance is a great spacious area with variety of comfy seats and spaces to place pictures to honor loved ones and showcase the couples travels and love story. We made it to the bar and noticed the cute signature drink signage. The margarita was delish! There were a lot of folks crowding the bar for cocktail hour and the two bartenders were busting their chops to serve all guests..couldn't help but noticed they could of used a third person to ease the load. Making our way to the next part of the room, there were cocktail tables, a photo booth, and sign-in/gifts table. After awhile the staff removed some dividers to reveal a spacious area for the tables and guests with the sweetheart table center and ample room for dancing. The evening flowed with speeches, plated dinners, dances, and a champagne toast. The salad sat on a cheese bowl with boats of dressing to pass around, the entrees had tasty veggies and creamy potatoes. My fiancés salmon tasted better than the chewy filet mignon. As soon as the dancing started, the staff would whisk away plates and bottles of wine to which our table requested the bottles be left behind due them still being consumed / half full. From the outside it looks like a small space in an industrial building. But, when you drive around to the back parking/entrance, be prepared to be completely blown away once you step foot inside. What the what? The specialized rooms just kept on going and going and going. Today I receive a tour from Chris, one of the managing partners and instructors of this facility. The space overall is 13,000 square feet and inside they have putting greens, golf simulators, a driving range (what?), and all these cool assessment gadgets to help evaluate your stroke and help improve your putting skills so you can train to be a better golfer in your future. Whether you're a beginner kiddo to a grown adult (pro or golfer for fun), you can keep your skills up to par (see how I did that) throughout the winter weather right in Highland Park. Who knew? Just a hop skip and a jump off the expressway, and you'll be there in no time at all. Bonus points...Jewel/Osco is right across the street, so if you get hungry while you're at it, you can run and grab a bite. They offer 60 minute lessons and special practice times. Sadly (in a good kind of sad), I was so overwhelmed that I only snapped a couple of photos. Guess I'm going to have to sign up for lessons! Take note, they also host special events. The greens are well maintained but the course does have quite a few stairs so be careful. The course entrance is just past Target on a busy road, so if you miss it you will need to circle back quite a ways. There is also a driving range on site. Plenty of parking available. The last time I played here it was cartpath only, why do you ask? Because they didn't fix the drainage problem. That's right, they spent millions of dollars and there is still water sitting on the fairways, ridiculous. Also why didn't they fix the cart paths out on the course? Some of them are so bad you have to drive on the grass. Again, why? Possibly the worse part about this whole mess is they don't tell you it's cartpath only until they take your money to play golf and a cart. What are you supposed to do? Go get your money back, load your clubs back in you're car and say good bye to your foresome? I hate that sh*t! The good part is is that they did a really nice job on the clubhouse, the dining room is much improved and they now actually have a small pro shop. The outdoor Patio is very nice and the grounds around the clubhouse armuch improved.

I'm from Florida and even though I LOVE our courses I can say that drainage is an issue and it's highly appreciated when I travel out of state and play. So onto the negative. The pace of play was ROUGH. I had a 6:15 PM tee time, they had me behind a pair of 2 walking who was behind a foursome of females who were behind a foursome of females with two walking and two riding. I started at 5:45 PM and at 8:15 PM I was only at the 12th hole. The money I spent was a rip off. Too add to the chaos, there were two college age guys who were playing erratically, driving their golf cart all over the course hopping onto empty tee boxes, hitting shots that had no direction and then they continued to drive around the course like it was a Monster Jam rally. I play Golf often, and I've never seen such poor etiquette not only from the wild twosome but also people riding up in golf carts and joking a party in front of me. So the twosome walking in front of me became 2 walking + 1 riding. Absolute worst experience when it comes to game play ever. Honestly a refund of my money would have been great versus the wasted afternoon/twilight session that could have been enjoyable. Your course is gorgeous but that's about it.

Upon arrival, I was surprised to not have known that someone else would be caring for us on the day of the event. I'm wondering if this shift caused things to be lost in communication, as we didn't have things such as the P.A. System and microphone set up, A-frame stands for our welcome sign, or a welcome table. We pivoted and worked through it. Our bartender was so grumpy and passive aggressive. But there was nothing to do about that in the moment either so we tried to kill her with kindness and shake it off. Overall, it ended up being a beautiful shower, the food was excellent, and we were able to persevere through the few hiccups we had.
