0 Stars I originally called because the used vehicle I…read morepurchased had some exhaust leaks and I needed them welded up in order for it to pass inspection. He agreed that he could do it for a reasonable price so I took it there and he got to welding. He wasn't able to weld all of the leaks, and the few that he did get fell apart. I drove directly from the shop to an inspection station and the leaks were worse and I failed. In addition to the exhaust leaks, the inspection station notified me that a previous owner had removed the catalytic converter so I needed to replace that as well. I purchased a new one and brought it into Hometown Automotive to have it welded in. At any exhaust shop, this should cost $100 Max. When I picked up the vehicle, he charged me $300 to weld in a catalytic converter. Keep in mind that I provided the part. I paid the bill and I didn't even make it home before the welds on the catalytic converter failed and the exhaust broke apart on the back side of the catalytic converter. I finally took a look underneath and the welds were terrible. There were actually more leaks now. I was able to slide the exhaust pipe back into the back half of the catalytic converter and use the metal wire to hold it into place so I could take it somewhere else to have it all redone again. On my way to have the work redone, the front welds on the catalytic converter failed and the exhaust fell off again. I limped it all the way to the shop and had them remove the catalytic converter and replace all of the piping, reweld in the catalytic converter, and I had a performance muffler with a stainless tip' installed for $268. Thats fairly standard industry pricing for parts and labor. When I asked the technicaian at the new shop what happened, he said the wrong type of welder was used, and the welds were bad. When I called back to hometown automotive and explain the situation, he agreed to give me a partial refund (This was October 19th, 2022). It has been more than 2 months, and not a penny has been returned. I honestly would have respected him more if he just told me that he could not weld in my catalytic converter, versus ripping me off for triple the amount any other shop would have charged me, doing incredibly shoddy work, then agreeing to refund me and then not keeping their word. That's what gets me the most, not keeping their word. How very disappointing for a new small business to treat their new customer in this manner. Shame. Response from the owner on Google via direct message: "You failed to mention that your exhaust had been welded multiple times and had cracks and jagged welds all down the exhaust. The first time you were trying to "patch up because you needed an inspection"Or the fact there was 3 different size pipes on the vehicle. And that you also had the entire exhaust replaced So they were no having to do a patch job. Thanks" There was two sizes of pipe. The original pipe, and the pipe used in place of the missing catalytic converter. When putting the new one it, that pipe would have been removed. The lack of professionalism and integrity should be weighted heavily. Even my review on Google has been paid to be blocked. Purely Dishonest.

However severe weather had come in and did that play into them rushing their analysis. They came out told me they found nothing and they believed car would be safe to tow on Monday. We got 180 miles outside of Canton when tire blew. Please know that people put their safety in your hands and your job should be more thorough. Walk around the car there's oil on the back end and passenger side of the car. I called maci lube and he advised it could have been an issue with the o ring on the filter, then said to drive my car to him. I said I can't because there's clearly a significant oil leak. He told me to go to a local place and call him in the morning. So I pay 125 to be towed to a local place where they see there is no oil filter attached. I call maxi lube back and he said he tightened the filter with a wrench so there's no way. He said he's not paying for the tow and can refund my initial oil change for "condolences". Go see him in person after my car is fixed and admits it could have been him but he's only willing to refund the initial oil change. Zero out of ten stars. Do not recommend.

I tow a 5th wheel toy hauler with a 1995 Ram 3500 5.9L automatic for the purposes of doing sound at…read moremusic festivals. The garage is loaded with PA Gear, lights, mixing consoles, etc. It's a heavy assed load. These things are often held in the middle of nowhere, way off the beaten path, typically miles from the nearest paved road. This is 4 wheeling with a 20K trailer behind you. As a result, I've gone though the factory transmission, followed by a series of 4 different Jasper rebuild transmissions in a 6 month period, each failed, they covered by warranty but it doesn't help when your miles from anywhere and dead in the water in a field someplace. My truck was spending more time in the shop waiting on replacement trannies then out on the road and that just wasn't cutting it. A friend recommended the Texas Performance Diesel guys, so I had it towed to Emory from Dallas. They built me a custom tranny specifically for towing (single billet shafts, pressure valve body, billet torque converter and upgraded clutch pack. It took a couple trips back to tweeze it out wherein they also replaced my boost elbows, changed the fuel plate and did some other tweaks to get more HP out of the truck when towing. Since then I've had to abuse the shit out of the transmission, including one trip where the promoter gave me the wrong directions and after 2 miles down hill during the rain from hell and finding it was a dead end with no where to turn around we had to back the thing up all 2 miles, in reverse with rainwater up to the axles and smudging through 3" of mud. The tranny didn't balk. T Temp never even got into the red (although the EGT's were getting close at some points). That was 10 years ago. It's still held up day in and day out, through mud and sludge and rutted up fields all over OK, KS, AR & MO. It doesn't even break a sweat on those godawful switchbacks in northern AR. I can tool down the interstate fully loaded at 75 mph all damn day long and not think twice about it. I could not more highly recommend these guys. They absolutely know their shit, and have completely removed all worrying about a failed transmission.

We needed a truck asap. Mr. Lewis, came out to meet me and told me the price of the truck. Ask me about my credit and I told him what it was around. Well they ran my credit late that afternoon. However, the weather may have delayed the report. Nevertheless, Brad and I agree that I would check back in the morning. Much to my surprise! I called Mr. Henry ,and he said" come on down for your truck." Walked in the dealership and was met by Brad. Mr. Henry was on the phone and waved me into his office. He had my interest cut by half and my payments for under $70 dollars a month cheaper than my old truck payment. He had my payments for a shorter term too. Which really help me out. We have the truck that works for us. Mr. Henry had the paperwork done in 20 minutes and the truck was ready for us to leave . For a small town feel. I recommend the drive out to Lewis Chevrolet highly. It made not be the Dallas experience. Hitting the bell and people shaking your hand you don't know and telling you that you got a great deal. We were driving pass Hall Chevrolet when we saw this toyota on the lot. We paid cash for the car it ran very well and the sales man said it had been parked and belonged to a old lady and that she only drove it church and grocery store. So we took it for a test drive it drove very well. We paid cash for it took it home and drove it for about 2 weeks . One day we were bored being at home so we drove out to the country side and to the grocery the pulled into the driveway turned off the car and in about 25 mins. My comes running to the back yard screaming the car was on Fire. It was the most frightening thing that had ever happened to us. The police and fire dept came out to help and the whole neighborhood came out to witness the FIRE. They all wanted to know where i had bought the car. So i told them Hall Chevrolet in canton. I have called the dealership talked to the employees and they have just managed to play phone tag and was told they would talk to Mr. Hall but never heard back from anyone. It took 6 weeks before I even received my car title. I regret ever buying a car from dealership where all you do is haggle over the price and then literally get burnt. The car is still under investigation by toyota Corp waiting on the final results of why the car caught on fire. Im retired, live in the neighborhood down the street and I thought we were all family in this community but was i ever wrong. Now, we are without a second car and sometimes need a second car to get to the doctor. I dont like giving bad reviews this area is my home and I deserve to be treated better then this.
