I recently discovered this place and my daughter likes it a lot! Our 1st visit was about 2 Saturday's ago, it was the afternoon and it was packed! A waiver needed to be completed before you can purchase and they had 1 kiosk for u to complete that and the person in front of me was taking a long time so as I was waiting I started completing the waiver on my phone from the site. I got to the window to purchase the ticket and the plan was to just purchase for the day but the gentleman at the window told me for the same price I can do their monthly membership and and she can come as often as she like. That seemed like a no-brainer to me because if she goes at least twice a month I already I got my moneys worth. I purchased their special sold with the grip and then she was on her way. I was a little nervous at first because the older kids can be a bit rough but my daughter hit er held her own and it was a lot of kids there. Yesterday I went around 10:30am and there was only a handful of kids there so it was perfect. We ended up having lunch there from their cafe and next thing I know it was 2 hours later. 0/5 not 1. Mega disappointed in this place. We went yesterday and spent over 30 minutes trying to get tickets (not waiting in line, this is literally the amount of time it took to buy the tickets). Not only did we get overcharged by $47.97, but when I called to see what this was all about I was given 2 different stories. "We have you a group rate for 10 or more jumpers." When I stated that we had 7 jumpers, "Oh, well at this location we do group rate starting at 7 jumpers." Not sure if she realized she contradicted herself within seconds. Mind you, the receipt says 10-29 jumpers is for a group rate. Perhaps we should adjust this on the receipt if 7 is actually accurate? Anyway, if you look up defy gravity's policies, 2 and under are free with paying parent. We had 3 under this age. So, those other 3 jumpers that we were charged for should not have been charged for due to us having the parents. She tried telling me they were saving us money, but in actuality had we been charged correctly, it would've been $14 more for our 7 jumpers, not $47.97 for the 3 jumpers who shouldn't have been charged. Not only was she rude in describing this to me, but she giggled at the end of it all. VERY disappointed. We won't be back, and I will be sure to share this review with everyone we know. read more

We have been here several times, in fact we do have the VIP passes. Because we have the passes we decided to do my sons birthday party here. I was very nervous how this was going to go because of all the bad reviews on here but my son insisted so I agreed. While I do agree with some of the other reviews that's it's hard to ever get anyone in the phone, I did have someone call to confirm the party 3 days before. Their rules sound pretty strict on jump time, party time, set up time, so I was nervous again how smoothly everything would run. However, Kayla was our server and she was FANTASTIC. She went above and beyond the entire time we were there. She was polite, knowledgeable, helpful, she even helped put up decorations, helped me decorate the cake and cupcakes, she even sang happy birthday with us. She served the kids pizza, cut the cake, it was one of the most relaxing birthday parties we've ever had and for once I got to enjoy my kids party and not be stressed out. I was able to socialize with all of the guests - she took care of everything. She even passed out the party favors I had brought. It was incredible! 10/10 experience and now having a hard time picking another place for my other sons birthday because I know we won't get that kind of customer service anywhere else! read more

I do NOT recommend having a birthday party. Came for check in for a 1pm birthday party and waited 10 minutes before anyone came over. Was told my host was finishing with another party.. fine. Eventually just handed a paper and told to go to the front and pay for the party. I go to the front and was asked if I enjoyed the party.. what? Anyway, finally 20-30 minutes in after missing jump time and everything was settled, everything was finally good to go. I didn't like how all of the birthday gifts and cards were just sitting out in the open area to be taken when the website clearly says it would be put away until time for the party. 3pm comes and we weren't called to the room. Fine, guests knew and we were ready. At the host stand and the host never appeared. Someone walks over and asks what I'm waiting for and I said my host. Like really? They tell me to go in the room and they'll get her. Of course when she's finally found, I'm paying, and she DROPS THE PIZZAS!! They are all messed up, and she doesn't bother replacing them. No, I have to ask once she disappears and I have to find out when serving. Then I realize none of the drinks I ordered are there. I again wait forever for someone to come to the host stand so I can get the drinks. Of course, the drinks I want are unavailable (Pepsi and fruit punch.) The replacement drinks, also unavailable. As we are going to leave, the "manager" who I did not know was the manager on duty at the time comes up to me and says we need to leave and I said "we are leaving." He says "another party is coming in 20 minutes so we need the room cleared." and I again said "I am leaving." We we're packing up the room! As we are heading out, I realized we didn't receive the VIP passes, water bottles, stickers, or cotton candy I ordered. I see the host and tell her. She rolls her eyes and walked away. Really? Because you can't do your job, you're upset with me? I asked to speak to the manager and it turned out to be that same kid that told me to leave! Some 18 year old (or looked like it) who didn't even care to listen to what I said. He just handed me passes and said "water bottles are in the room. We can refund you the cotton candy we don't have it, it's like $40." That's all I'm going to say.. if that doesn't give red flags on why you shouldn't have a party here, I don't know what should. Indoor trampoline parks have popped up everywhere! Some better than others and Defy being one of them. Defy us your usual large jump area, area for little kids, dodgeball & foam pit. What stood out to me was the swings, the zip line and high jump. Defy was clean and didn't have the awful foot" corn chip " smell. The staff are very friendly, and are very attentive to make sure everyone is safe. My only con is there is a few vending machines but no stand. So make sure you eat before or plan to eat right after. read more

There were two referees on the floor, both of which were on their phones/watches and not paying attention to make sure kids were following the correct saftey protocols. There were children throwing punches and slapping each other, and no employee tried to break it up. Instead, two employees who walked back inside, wreaking of marijuana, were jumped on top of and slapped by children, and yet they were still not removed from the premise. Due to the business, clearly, not being safe for children, I do not recommend you go to the Defy Gravity Charlotte location. read more

Checking in for my party was highly disorganized, I was informed that my "paperwork" was misplaced which was the delayed wait. Then, my party host (Brayden) was doing the bare minimum to assist. For example, I waited my guests' arrival by the cubbie area and went with them to check in. My party host was behind the counter and didn't want to check them in. "He said nah, man I don't even have the paperwork!" to an Asian decent co worker. So, that Asian associate checked my guests in without the "paperwork " The only thing Brayden did was set the party room up. He did not show up to serve the guests at all. I did it because the kids are hungry and we are not going to sit and wait around for him! The teenage fight that broke out twice in the play area was crazy. First, they started fighting in the back area which was broken up by staff. But, instead of kicking them out, the staff let them stay which lead to another fight in the main play area. My guests and my family was scared for our small children getting hurt. We grabbed our kids and left immediately.As we were leaving, we saw 3 police cars arrive to Defy. My hubby & I felt so embarrassed about this whole event ‍ I will not be visiting or booking another party here ever again. I DO NOT recommend this location. read more

This place is an absolute blast and if you want to let your inner kid out for an hour or two you should give it a try. Defy Gravity is a trampoline park and the first place of its kind I've ever visited. I stopped by Saturday night with my nephew as a surprise for his 18th birthday and we had a wonderful time. I both ordered the tickets ahead of time and did the electronic version of the safety waiver to save some time (I saw a lot of other folks complain about issues with lines and such in their reviews) but it was less than a five minute wait on a Saturday night, which I assume is a pretty busy time for them. When you check in you get a wristband which essentially marks your block of play time and you have to get a pair of grip socks so everyone isn't slipping and sliding on the trampolines. Now $3 isn't a lot, but I kind of wish the grip socks were included in the price. They do the job (I never had any issues sliding during our visit) but the threads had already started coming loose after twenty minutes of play so they really aren't built to last. You can keep them to reuse on later visits but I can't imagine they would hold up through more than two or three trips. This didn't ruin our experience, just thought it was worth mentioning. (Lockers are free if you bring your own lock, or you can rent one for $2.) On to the fun stuff! There is so much to do here its easy to get a little overwhelmed but I'll try to cover everything. Up the stairs and to the left is the large open bounce area. Taking up almost a quarter of the floor space it consists of four rows of trampolines that each have five 8ftx8ft square trampolines and a larger half pipe trampoline leaned up against the wall for some sideways bouncing. Getting some speed and bouncing from one end to the other is super fun but you don't realize just how fast bouncing wears you out. Directly behind that is a similarly sized "room" with half pipe trampolines on both sides that is used as a dodgeball arena. Under the supervision of an employee with a whistle you can bounce around and throw foam balls about. It was the only thing we didn't really try because it was so busy but it certainly looked fun. Further back still are the Super Tramp Trampolines. There are two and only hold one guest at a time. These are more akin to the industrial trampolines you would find at a gymnastics center. You're welcome to do tricks on these if you think you're capable, but there is always an employee supervising. Next to that is the trapeze, which is what it sounds like. Swing off a ledge and into a big foam pit. Directly to the right are three more trampolines with foam pits behind them all intended for jumping and flipping into. Easy to be adventurous when you know there's a soft landing. Two more trampolines and a foam pit in the back right corner designated just for the young kids, so they don't get trampled (complete with a couch for the parents to watch.) Right side of the building near the restrooms are the ninja warrior style obstacles. Monkey bars, grip tests, a gladiator bridge, wall rope climb and slack rope all over foam for you safety and amusement. The last three items in the front right and center respectively were probably my favorites. First up is a mini obstacle course consisting of three trampolines and two 5ft padded walls. There's something so simple and fun about bouncing high enough to just vault over a wall with ease. Next is the zipline. Pretty simple, tons of fun. With the foam pit beneath theres no need for a safety harness you just grab the handle and hold on. The line is maybe 30ft long at a decent incline, so you get plenty of speed when you go down. Probably my number one attraction. Lastly is the craziest thing in the place. I think I do like the zipline a bit better overall, but this ones an experience. In the dead center of the gym is a three tier tower with platforms at approximately 5ft, 10ft, and 15ft. You climb up the tower to your desired level of bravery and leap! Below is an action movie style crash pad filled with air to save you from what would otherwise be certain doom. This thing is such a thrill and quite honestly terrifying on that top level. It looks a little high from the ground but once your standing at the edge oh boy. Make sure to listen to the employees and try to land either on your back or your butt. More surface area means an easier landing (and no neck injuries from landing on your face.) Is this place perfect? No, but damn is it fun. 10 year old me would have given this place an instant 5/5 stars, but 27 year old me still had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, the attractions were fun and we never had to wait more than a minute or two to do something. I do wonder how feasible it is to maintain the cleanliness of the foam pits themselves, but all the trampolines were nice and clean. If you're near the university area give them a try and have a bouncing good time. read more

Check in was seamless Cons: I purchased a Groupon for the party and no one ever bothered to call to get the final count or to ask if I wanted any add-ons for the party. I attended a different birthday party earlier in the week and expressed my concern and they told me that I should not worry and someone will call me. I corresponded via email to find out more details and they reassured me someone will call me the day before the party. I called about eight times and nobody answered and the voicemail was full. Finally I was able to talk to the manager and was able to tell them everything I needed for the party but I do think they need a different protocol to ensure that parties are ran smoothly and that someone should call or make sure someone calls to make sure that all of the party details are under a rap. Another con was that I paid for the tip prior to the party and you really have no idea what type of service you will get. Another con is that my pizza that I ordered was supposed to come in 16 slices like someone told me the day before and it came out in eight slices but they did rectify it by bringing out another pizza. They did not have any plastic utensils for the cake so I am happy that I brought my own but I was told that they would supply that. read more

2 issues: 1) Defy changed its pricing to only have a 90 minute session option as the lowest price point. They no longer have a 1 hour option. What about customers who don't want to spend that long of a time there or spend all day? You are forcing me to go with 2 options... either leave and not pay for this (not really an option because my family is there and ready to jump) or over pay for something I don't want or need. 2) they have PJ mask socks and I ask for those instead of what they gave me; and they say those cost extra. We are already paying over $50 bucks for the entire experience... and you want to charge me more? And, it was evident the person helping us was trained to upsell us without asking us what we want or need. Irritating. read more

Cool concept! I've never been on a trampoline so, naturally, I left with both my ankle and wrist on swole! Oh and I made a fool of myself as it took me 8 minutes to get out of the damn foam quick sand as onlookers gawked with pure pity. Have mercy... Current deal: WILD CARD. You pay price of 1 jump hour for $11 + $10 (for actually wild card) = $21 for a 30 day pass good for 1 hour of jumping each time for 30 days. Awesome summer deal for kids! Or adults ;) Defy itself: big indoor trampoline place. Went for the first time over a year ago. Recently they changed up about half of the activities inside. Which include: ninja warrior type activities, jumping, dodge ball, free fall, foam pits, etc. Overall they keep it pretty clean for such a big place with many people in and out. Tips: jumping starts at every hour on the dot and half hour. For example 2:00 (go til 3) and 2:30 (go til 3:30). Last pass starts at 8 I think. Give yourself at least 10-15 mins before jumping time to arrive. You'll have to complete a waiver at a computer screen before buying your ticket. Only have to do this once, but that means two separate lines if your first time. Then you pay, they give you a stamp and colored rubber wrist band (so they can tell which jumpers are supposed to be on the floor at what time). If you are coming to watch, they give you a pink paper "observer" band and you can walk all around through there no problem. $3 for jumping socks. They do require you have some of theirs, just a heads up. But you keep them, and can reuse them until...forever? PARTY wise: I have been to 1 birthday party here, and 1 I planned here for my son. It's fairly easy to plan. You can be prepared for at least $300+ for a party of like 10 kids plus the birthday kid. 1 hour of jumping is included, with pizza and 1 drink per kid. Your kid have more than 10 friends? No worries, you can add on additional kids for like $15 each or something. They also give each kid a pair of socks to keep. In addition, they give the birthday kid a t-shirt as well. You get 1 party planner that is yours throughout your party to help you with anything and to clean up etc. Tip: pizza is from hungry howies, if you buy extra it's about $15 per pizza here (a little crazy for HH pizza, but they place order and have it delivered). I thought I should order more pizzas (other than what they were giving the kids) in case we needed more or family members of those kids wanted any etc. Well you actually don't have to go all out like I did, Bc there will be a little extra from what they give anyways. They told me 8 slices per pizza but it was more and we had plenty! Too much. So then I felt dumb ordering that much extra expensive HH pizza. *I also like for party decor they have places where you can hang stuff easily in their party rooms, like a wire rack (you may or may not have to bring clips I can't remember for sure) but if you like to have a theme etc then this is helpful.* AND - you are allowed to bring your own cake, and a fruit or veggie tray (just 1 I think). Fast-forward to today-we sat in line for 25 minutes (which was 10 minutes into my sons 1 hour jump time) and when I mentioned something to the girl at the counter she replied with "well, we had someone call out today so it's only the 2 of us." Ok...not my problem you all are short staffed. A better response would have been maybe "I'm sorry, you're child won't be shorted his jump time because of our inability to staff properly." I love this place! Between learning Parkour and gymnastics, it's my #1 location for learning all my new tricks and flips. They have a super friendly staff, it's very safe, and there's so much to do. They have a huge floor of trampolines, a Dodgeball Arena, and Basketball Hoops. Also, they have more then just trampolines, they have a Jacob's Ladder and Slack Lining, both over a huge Foam Pit, and coming soon is their Ultimate Ninja Course. It is also very kid-friendly. The have specific times just for children and an area for kids 6 and under open throughout the day for those kids and their parents. I will definitely be going back soon! 5 stars all the way! read more

Went here for my husband's birthday (we are kids at heart ha) and had a good time. Be sure to fill out your waiver online and bring it with you as that line was pretty long. We did have to wait 40 minutes because by the time we checked in the time we were originally shooting for was sold out but that's our fault not theirs. There is SO much to do there and I love that they have a plethora of staff present to remind people of the rules/to ensure everyone is safe. We jumped for 30 minutes and I'm glad we didn't buy an hour because you get tired extremely fast. I went with a younger child and they actually have a small play area for children which is pretty nice. Compared to other jump zones it would be nicer the squares were larger for more space for individual jumpers but there are about 5-6 other activities (basketball, ropes courses, monkey bars, dodgeball, and ball pits) so plenty to go around! read more

Kids are running, kids are shoving/pushing other kids into foam pits and nothing is said by the staff. It's a free for all. The open voice trampolines are a nightmare. My son never wants to leave when we go. We have visited twice, and are going to sign up for one of the many summer camps that they offer this summer. It is reasonably priced, the bathrooms are clean, the equipment is in good shape, and they staff plenty of employees to keep everything as safe as possible. This is a fun place for the kids to burn off a ton of energy, get some good exercise in, and a place anyone of any age could really enjoy. That's where the good review ends. This location is run by incompetent teenagers who really have no interest in actually doing their job. There has not been a single professional employee at any point in my last several visits. I went there with my four year old who loves it and signed up for a jump pass. The interaction with the young man at the front was a confusing mess because he couldn't formulate a complete thought to explain how it worked or that there was a two month minimum commitment. So during the few months that I kept the jump pass my daughter and I went probably five times. Out of the five times she got sick days later three of those times. It's not hard to see why as there is not even an attempt to appear to care about sanitation. Understandably with that type of equipment and especially the foam pits cleaning is challenging to nearly impossible but that should make the remaining areas a priority. When we started going in July the woman's bathroom had two toilets that barely work and one sink that actually produces water. Three months later and it's exactly the same. The trampoline springs and safety borders are always loose so it's very easy to trip and get hurt. I started only going early evening during the week to avoid the ridiculous crowds that make it challenging to have fun. They have a sign that suggests they have a limit but I doubt they're adhering to it. It's such a waste of a good place. Wish we could continue to enjoy it. This place is pretty bad compared to Sky High Jump. No arcade, no ropes course, no food other than vending machine, no laser tag and you have fill out a waiver even if you aren't jumping. Then you HAVE to use their socks and they cost $4 a pair. Will NOT return. My 8 year old son with Autism was having a meltdown and we asked to go into the under 6 area that was empty, to let him calm down, get acclimated to the noise and jump alone, they REFUSED!
