I received a certificate for microdermabrasion as a holiday gift & finally got around to using it. Booking was super easy. In fact, I had to re-schedule my initial appointment & they were very accommodating. The day of the appt I was greeted upon arrival & quickly pointed to the waiting/lounge area. The space is beautifully decorated. I didn't wait very long at all. Eventually Sophia came out to introduce herself & we headed to the room. She asked me a bit about my skin as well as my personal skin goals. She gave brief info about the process/products used throughout the facial but otherwise allowed for silence & relaxation. She also gave a recommendation for how often I should have this service done & answered my question about another service as well. Stay away! Unethical. I purchased a laser hair removal package at their NYC location and only used 2 out of 3 sessions before they closed permanently. They did not let their clients know nor did they issue a refund. I contacted Deify several times at both locations through email and by phone. I called the North Greenbush office and the representative was very rude and unhelpful. She claimed they are unaffiliated with the NYC office and promptly hung up on me. I have the same issue many others have had - purchased at package at the NYC location, it closed, and no one in management at this location will even get back to me (the receptionists are always very polite about taking my many messages). I bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions and booked a few other services as well - waxing and spray tan. The same girl did all my services, although I can't remember her name. It was my first time having eyelash extensions and she didn't explain the process to me at all. When I told her I wanted natural looking lashes, just a little bit longer and fulller - she seemed to understand. There were no visual aids to help me understand, or an explanation of the process. When I asked some questions, it was as if I was bothering the women. When the process was done, almost 2 hours later, my eyelashes didn't look natural at all. The lashes were so much longer than I expected. I asked her if she could make them shorter and she cut them. I found out later, you are not supposed to cut the lashes because it makes them blunt, which it did. My lashes looked ridiculous. I ended up paying another salon to remove them only a few days later. Additionally - the place was not immaculate like others have described. It was not super dirty but I noticed a lot of dust and build up on the ceiling vents, which when you are providing services that require customers to lay on their backs and look up, are an important place to clean. Lastly, because my appointment was the last of the day I was asked to pay for all the services and leave a tip for the woman before receiving the services, which seems odd to me. In this case she's lucky, because I wouldn't have tipped as well as I did after her poor services were delivered. read more

I had my hair cut and colored with heather! It looks amazing! I have long hair and tend to be wary of people cutting too much off. Heather took off the exact length I asked for and it looks and feels so healthy! Her shampoo was nice and relaxing and was not rushed. My advice is to research laser hair reduction. Most of my hair grew back following 12 laser sessions. What I learned was that electrolysis is the only FDA approved method for hair removal and laser is approved only for hair reduction. read more

Disappointment does even begin to describe my feelings about my experience at this salon. I went on Sat February 2nd and received full set of lashes. By Wed the 6th, they had not only all come off, but my real lashes fell off with them. I had explained to Brooke, I was going away for work and was looking forward to not having to wear mascara for the week. She assured me they would stay put for at least two weeks, I made an appt for the refill that same day thinking it would be ok. And BTW, they were not that great to begin with. I've done better myself. Anyway, I called that Wednesday from New Orleans to express my concerns and spoke with the "manager" she said since you can't come in send me a pic and I will get back to you to see how we can remedy this. I sent the pic and nothing. I have called everyday since then and no one has had the decency to answer or return my call. I have left 6 messages! I stated I am not trying to be a complaining customer but I paid 150 dollars for a service and that service did not do as it said. I wished to cancel my upcoming apt and at least be refunded for that? Again nothing... this evening I called the store in NYC asking to speak to a manager/owner. The woman I spoke with took my information, heard my story and said she was emailing the owner as we speak... still waiting a response. I find the lack of common curtesy disgusting. The lack of customer service absurd and the waste of money truly upsetting... if looking for eyelashes, do your research... don't go here! I used a Groupon to get a facial for me and my fiancé. We ended up using it for microdermabrasions. It was quick and painless. The girl who did our facials was excellent. She was nice and very thorough. We saw a difference in our sink right away and it just got better with each passing day. I'm about to schedule a second one today. I have received multiple microdermabrasion facials and am currently receiving laser hair removal on my whole face. She has been a delight through all of it. I always look forward to going and chatting with her, she always makes it fun and has such a calming presence. My experience using Deify Laser was good at first, but then went down hill quickly. After 8 laser treatments on my lip, I still experienced some growth and went in for a follow up consultation. They agreed that I still had dark hair growth and said that was not typical. They were supposed to call me back with next steps. I never heard back and after WEEKS of calls and voicemails, I finally got in touch with them. Even though I had to chase them down, the best they could do was give me half off touch up treatments, which is still $50 per treatment. I asked about a Groupon and they were extremely rude in their answer. Horrible customer service. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Came in today with a groupon to get my hair done for my formal. I'm ecstatic to say that I had Talia today and she did an incredible job with my hair! She washed, conditioned, and blow dried it out and curled my hair for me while being extremely sweet and down to earth and I couldn't love my hair more than I do now! I went here for a Brazilian wax. If you've ever received one before than you know it can be awkward and/or painful. Lindsay, my aesthetician, was hands down the best one I've ever used. I informed her I have sensitive skin and she used two different types of high quality products on me. She was professional and fun. Fun! How do you make a Brazilian wax fun? I had them done previously at another salon and they pretty much fell of within 36 hours of having them done....But NOT HERE, they lasted well into my third week. A friend recommended Deify Laser + Beauty Lounge, but due to the pandemic it had been on my "to do list" for almost two years. I finally booked an appointment and was really excited about it. The tech seemed like a sweet girl and who said she'd been working at Deify for nearly a year. To make a long story short, I spent $170 + 20 for the tip on a set of lashes. Within two hours the lashes on the right eye starting falling out (11 lashes to be exact)! I called immediately to discuss the situation, sent Lindsey a picture of all the lashes on my bathroom sink, and requested very nicely that management address the situation by giving me a price adjustment. I was told that it would be brought to the attention of the owner. Lindsey called me back a few hours later to say that she was still awaiting a response from the owner and would call me the next day. its been a couple of days now and although I called again and left a message - still nothing. The excuse I was given about why the lashes fell out, was that sometimes the glue doesn't react well in the heat and/or humidity. Deify was so chilly I had to ask the tech for a cover-up and then I promptly got into my air conditioned vehicle so I am not sure if that's legit. Either way, while the vibe at Deify was okay and the decor was fine, what I went there for was the service and that was an epic fail due to what turned out to below average service and a horrible customer experience. I will note that the service at this location is pretty good, but I am quite disappointed with the results of the laser hair removal treatment I received. Although the level of intensity was gradually increased with each session, I kept noticing significant hair regrowth in the area being treated. I just kept telling myself that the next session would fix it and I'd be happy that I endured all this pain in the end (she eventually reached 27/30 intensity level.) Despite what the laser technician, salon manager and front desk receptionist said about my hair eventually just "falling out", 9 sessions and $1K later and the area looks the way it did before my first laser session. Disappointed that I went through all that pain for nothing. I don't think I'm a special case; my cousin got the same services done at Ideal Image years ago (9 sessions) and she is still completely smooth. I won't be continuing treatment at this location and I may consider Ideal Image after seeing their proven results. read more

I've been receiving laser hair removal for going on 4 years now (6 visits the first year, 6 visits the second year, 3 visits last year and I have 3 more visits this year) and I am STILL seeing a lot of hair growth. I've spent a lot of money with them guaranteeing that this is permanent. I have really fine/light hair, so it should not be an issue. I think I am better off going back to waxing ughhhhh Not to mention, they do not do the thong line any longer with the Brazilian, so it's not really a Brazilian; it's a full bikini. They should really lower their prices if they want people to drive all the way to East Greenbush (I guess now they moved locations, but aren't telling their clients... Today I got a set of SYNTHETIC mink eyelash extensions. I say this because their description on groupon claims they're "mink". I used a groupon deal, but since I already used a groupon coupon there for laser treatments, I couldn't use another groupon for the eyelash extensions, which they did not notify me about until I arrived. So they sprung a price double what I already payed for the voucher. Here are my major issues: 1. They notified me once I was there that I had to pay full price, even though when booking my appointment I noted I was using a groupon. 2. The extensions looked terrible, they were pointing in all directions and some of the lashes in the inner corner of my eye was touching my eye, burning and painful experience. 3. She was on her phone texting during part of my appointment. 4. The groupon it states "One Full Set of Mink Eyelash Extensions" when in reality they are synthetic. Extremely misleading. 5. They canceled my appointment the day before and in their voicemail stated, "The eyelash glue went a little bad." This service was extremely disappointing. I do not recommend this place for eyelash extensions. If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is. read more

I have been going to Lindsay for almost 2 years getting regular facials and she makes me feel like I am her only concern when on there. I had a groupon for 6 laser treatments. The staff was very nice and accommodating, and at first I was seeing results, especially the first few treatments. However, I had my last treatment a few months ago, and now you can't even tell I had the laser done. There's been no reduction in hair growth, which I've been very disappointed in, because I was really looking forward to the results. After reading the other reviews I see they treat groupon customers differently. I always tip on the actual price of the service and then some, because I know groupon can hose service providers. And I always let whomever is booking know that I'm on the level. I even offered the entire staff a discount at my yoga studio. I got a groupon for three micro dermabrasions. An old colleague of mine is an esthetician so I consulted her before I bought it and when to set the appointments. At my first appointment my esthetician performing the service said I should space them out more. I complied. My services lasted maybe ten minutes with this person. During my first two appointments my esthetician did not prep my skin at all. She just started microdermabrasion-Ing. My third and final service was like night and day. This esthetician washed my face twice and rubbed alcohol on my face to prep my skin. The treatment was not just vastly different, it was vastly more effective. When I brought it up to the esthetician she responded by saying "I don't know, this is the way I've always done it, since school." When I alerted the front desk staff about it a very cold, unfriendly, front desk member said they had changed their protocol within the last week....bullshit, but okay. I tried to set another appointment for a separate deal they had on another site and she said no, that I was only allowed to use the price of my deal towards a regular priced service. I told her a would rather get a refund than roll the dice on whether my service is going to be done by the books or not. I've worked in very high end spas as a service provider, I'm a massage therapist. I've received facial treatments by esthetician's that have been recruited from all around the world to work at the spa I've worked at. Ive worked on celebrities, govt officials, authors, artists, the elite of the elite. I've gotten those five star facials at an employee discounted rate. Not only does Deify have an unprofessional approach to customer service. But it's really hit or miss with their service providers. I'm a business owner. I'm a service provider. This spa is malt liquor in a champagne bottle. I will not be returning. read more

I would not recommend Deify Salon of East Greenbush to anybody. The salon itself is not horrible I'm it's appearance but the way the management and owner treat their employees is unbelievable. I have visited on 2 occasions and have overheard things as well as felt tension in the atmosphere due to the unhappiness of the staff there. I love the stylist I saw and would love to see her again but I just don't feel at ease there. I've seen and heard that most of the girls in the salon are very talented girls but the way they are treated is appalling. I'm surprised that any of the staff actually stay there. I first visited Deify with a Groupon and I was very happy with my results although the Groupon does not specify what the services actually include so I had to pay extra to get the style I really wanted. The stylist are very good at explaining this but it is false advertisement and I have heard of some clients being very upset because they had different expectations coming in there. It's not a very high end salon so I wouldn't expect high end service. Just my opinion. read more
