It was 4:50 when we left to get the certificate, and we went home got the certificate then headed back. It was 5:25 when we got back and apparently she had closed up and gone home even after she knew we were headed back to get the piercing. The piercings themselves are well done, she was informative when I asked about the piercing and which type of jewelry I should use. As well, my sister has gotten her eyebrows done here and they were done well. This experience was just very inconveniencing as we had to go there, go back, then go there again. I would recommend this place if you go earlier in the day, so there is no chance of them closing up early.

There were ample choices of the regular ones though so that wasn't a problem, I did not check prices at other places so I don't know if this is typical. They recommended coming in after a few weeks so they can resize the piece, after swelling goes down. There is no extra charge for this. Any future adjustments are free as well, even if you purchase the jewelry elsewhere.

After waiting 53 minutes in the lobby with no updates, we asked for an estimate and were told there were still "a couple more" people ahead of us. At no point did anyone proactively communicate that the wait would be significantly longer than promised. When we expressed our frustration, staff didn't ask if we wanted to remain on the list--they told us they would simply remove us from it. We chose to leave. The owner followed us outside and asked what he could do to make things right. A genuine attempt would have been offering immediate service, a discount, or a gift certificate for the nearly hour-long wait. Instead, when we explained why we were upset, his response was, "You've gotta work with me here," before walking away. Delays happen. Tattoo and piercing shops get busy. The issue wasn't the wait--it was the inaccurate estimate, lack of communication, dismissive attitude, and complete failure to take responsibility when given the opportunity to resolve the situation. I've spent plenty of time in tattoo and piercing studios and understand how the industry works. What I don't understand is treating potential customers as though their time has no value. Based on this experience alone, I would never recommend Big Brain to anyone.

I really liked how it asked if you'd prefer a male or female piercer. Because of what I wanted to get done, I requested a female, and met Lexi. She made me feel so comfortable the entire time. Let me yap to get my nerves out, and really encouraged me to push through. I had such a validating and positive experience I brought my best friend by to get a few piercings herself. They gave me what I needed to care for my piercing instead of telling to go buy something and they said that if I had any issues, like it coming out, to just stop by and they would take care of it. They also said when I'm easy for a change, they would do it, which will be soon. They also had a really awesome selection of nose jewelry I hadn't seen anywhere else other than the regular rhinestone studs. I plan on scheduling my next tattoo with them, when I get it, I'll post a review of that also.

The vibe is alright, nothing special but nothing bad. When tattooing me, Sergio asked me about my major as I am a college student and he asked me if I was a "fuckin' weirdo" because most people with my major are. Turned the vibe from alright to wow, what the hell am I doing here? He finished my tattoo and it's healed now, there's a spot where the line doesn't even connect and it's not a perfect circle. Will probably get someone to fix later down the road. Literally spend your money somewhere else or get tatted by one of the other artists there, although I don't know how their work compares, I just know that I'm really glad I didn't ask for anything bigger or more complex if this is the quality of something that took all of 10 minutes.
