I got my nose pierced here again, after three failed piercings at another place. The shop was super clean and the staff was extremely friendly. They gave me what I needed to care for my piercing instead of telling to go buy something and they said that if I had any issues, like it coming out, to just stop by and they would take care of it. They also said when I'm easy for a change, they would do it, which will be soon. They also had a really awesome selection of nose jewelry I hadn't seen anywhere else other than the regular rhinestone studs. I plan on scheduling my next tattoo with them, when I get it, I'll post a review of that also. read more

I don't have a ton of experience with piercing and tattoo shops but this one was professional and delivered a good product. Mike pierced my daith and was quick, friendly, informative, and made the process more less painless. I was given aftercare instructions and they sent me home with a bottle of saline and aftercare sheet. They were really good about answering my questions and were all very friendly. My 7yo daughter really wanted her ears pierced. We were recommended to Skin Deep through friends, so we made an appointment with Mike Coons. They were great explaining everything to her and letting her know what to expect. She cried after the first ear and didn't want to finish up. They were very patient and gave her time to think about it. When she decided she didn't want to do the 2nd, they were not upset, they said you can come back anytime. We left and she had some time to think about it and since her 1st one wasn't even hurting anymore, she decided to be brave and just get the 2nd done. So within 20 minutes of leaving, she came back in and told them she wanted Kacee to do it. Kacee was very sweet and helpful the whole time. (So was Mike, but my daughter felt like BFFs with Kacee). It was so much easier the second time because she was deep breathing through it and knew the pain would be done quickly. She was so happy when it was done. She gave Kacee a hug. I went here, about a month ago now, for my first tattoo. I've had multiple piercings done around the Omaha area but never had a tattoo. I was out of town when I emailed Shawn the picture of what I wanted dates that I wanted to come in. He was really helpful via email and answered all my questions and concerns about the appointment. I was able to get an appointment fairly quick as my tattoo is really small about the size of a half dollar. When walking and I noticed that the shop was extremely clean and that is why I booked it there online from his bio he said that he was super clean. I've been to piercing and tattoo shops where it is dirty and I don't understand why people get a tattoo there if they can't keep their floors clean. Walking into Skin Deep I didn't have that feeling. Shawn show me the picture that I sent him after it was hand-drawn and asked if I wanted to change anything. Walking back into the room I sat down in the chair and equally as room was nice and neat and clean. I told him where I wanted to the placement of the tattoo and he informed me that in about 6 months of placement of where I want it right now would wear off and if I want it to last a long time that I should place it in the other part and he recommended where. As being new tattoos on my own self I was extremely grateful that he told me this. He didn't have much small talk and I had to prompt with questions during the tattoo. Which wasn't bad as I'm not outspoken myself. I liked that he was nice enough but didn't talk about everything under the sun. I have wanted a septum piercing for a while and wanted someone with a lot of experience because I thought with a septum lots of pain. But Mike explained that when you pierce the sweet spot it's minimal pain, seriously you're getting a needle shoved thu your skin it's gonna hurt some. But anyways Mike showed what the procedure was going to be and it literally took him like 10 seconds from start to finish and on a pain scale of 1-10 it was a 3 and once needle was thru no pain. read more

Our dauhter was pretty nervous but Mike was very patient and explained the process while he was getting her ready. If you need custom body jewelry do NOT order from this place. I put a down payment of $30 for 2 custom lip studs and never got them. I put my order in ONE YEAR AGO. I called twice and both times got someone with an attitude saying they will call me when my order gets in but I never got a call. I've had the same number for 4 years, never once got a call from this place. So basically they take your money from the down payment and then ignore you and never get in contact again. It's sad that this place has such a high rating and I've seemingly got the short end of this place. I would like my money back but if I call I'll probably get someone with an attitude again blaming me somehow. I'll never go back here for anything at all. read more

I went in a little over a year ago to get a tattoo of a drawing I made, the artist told me he couldn't do it as I was stealing art. Even though I drew it myself, I went along with it to see what he would draw up. I specifically stayed at the beginning I did not want color. I was fine with the tattoo he drew up for me and liked the changes he made, when we finally got going he kept pressuring me to add color over and over saying the tattoo would look way better. I gave in (which was my mistake) and it turned out worse than I could've imagined. There are trees on it and they look like a child drew them. I hate this tattoo and the entire experience was awful. I felt uncomfortable and the artist made me feel like what I wanted was not important and that what he wanted would look better. Maybe someday I can afford laser. read more

IF YOUR THINKING ABOUT A PIERCING READ:) I got my cartilage pierced and my doubles on my lobes about 5 years ago and I had a great experience. I went back to get my belly button pierced in late February and payed 130 dollars for it. I didn't like the way it looked but I thought maybe it just needed to heal. Anyways I let it heal and it was getting worse which annoyed me. So I went to big brain productions which is when I was told the placement was wrong and to call the shop to go get it looked at. The lady who looked at it was very nice but said she would hav placed it differently and that I could take it out and wait three months and come back to get it re-pierced for free BUT they don't do refunds. I was taught u pay what you get for. And I feel like I got screwed over. I let it heal and went to big brain downtown got it pierced it didn't bruise and it's deeper and in the right placement and is healing perfectly (also only payed 40 dollars). So if you got a hundred dollars you would like to throw a way or if your young and wanna get screwed over I definitely recommend going to skin deep! Went in looking to get a decent sized tattoo on my arm. Chris the guy who does the tattoos was clearly not interested in talking to me let alone doing a tattoo. He was so busy playing on his tablet he couldn't be bothered to look at the pictures I had pulled up to give him an idea of what I wanted. His short rudely put answer was without a drawing I can't give you any answers. I will spend the hundreds of dollars at a shop that actually wants my money and has people skills. If I could give negative stars I would because 1 star is far more than they deserve. read more

Probably the worst interaction with a tattoo shop i have ever had. Asked for mike Welch, talked about a swan hip tattoo, sent him a picture of the general idea and explained how I wanted the shading and all that. We got set up for a drawback appointment two weeks later. On the day of he says it's not done yet he would get it to me the next day. He did but it wasn't at all what I was expecting.... I expected a beautifully drawn swan and a floral design, just a great design in general because tattoo artist are usually great about it all at least In my experience. When In fact it was a poorly outlined drawing that looked like he did it in a rush the night of the drawback date. After putting down a $60 deposit I'm pissed. No shading. No details. And to make it worst he said he didn't copy artwork, when in fact I found almost the exact same swan DRAWING online the only things different were the flowers and the placement of them and the head. And it didn't even look like a swan it looked like a goose! Just very shocked, was expecting something great considering he had two weeks to draw something up.... And he's a tattoo artist he should be amazing at drawing! But it was just sad and disappointing never going back to them. read more

Skin Deep is a very nice well put together place, nice people, and good business. Mike was who was my tattoo artist has some incredible art and I think he is very good at his job. However he did not go over what he was doing fully. I showed him my sketches and the photos I used for my sketches, which didn't have shading in them. When he sent me his sketches they were just outlines, which were unique and perfect for me. We talked about shading on the second one but I only said a little would be ok. By the end the first one was shaded and so was the second one. I told him respectfully that it wasn't what I was expecting he got defensive and said it was what I asked for....which wasn't correct. There was a lot of miscommunication and I'm not here to disrespect him i think he is an incredible artist, he took his time and it turned out great. It was just disappointing to see his lack of care of my opinion and feelings, and i still had to pay full price for something that isn't what I wanted. read more

Got my nose pierced here a little over three/four months ago, where I've had it pierced before but have had it fall out while sleeping. This happened once again last night, which is absolutely NOT this locations fault, rather being one of things that can happen with a nose piercing and being a heavy sleeper. While getting it repierced, I asked what I should do if it falls out again, and they said if I came in before a 24-48 hour period after it fell out they would be able to put it back in before it fully closed. Decided to call them today, ask if they had piercers available, and right off the bat the man on the phone started responding very rude. "We have 2 piercers today, that's kind of what we do." I hadn't asked how many they have, but rather if they had piercers who were 'available' today. He asked what I was looking to get, and I explained my situation of it falling out and wanting to redo it before it closed and how I was instructed to come in as soon as possible to get it redone. He then became pretty aggressive saying that he's been there 6 or so years and nobody has ever said that to anyone because he doesn't do that, and I must have been confused with replacing a stone if it fell out. He told me with scarring and tissues and such they would not be able to put it in for another two months (which is absolutely reasonable, I do not wish to have any tissue damage or scarring occur.) I was more so a little shocked he implied I had lied about what someone told me, when I specifically had asked about repiercing because it has fallen out before in the past. I started to explain how I had asked about the past piercing situation so I could figure out what to do, and he cut me off and told me "no that never happened here, nobody would ever say that," before I was able to finish what I was saying. I replied with letting him know I was just trying to ask questions and maybe figure out what I should do, and he told me he already answered my questions and it was difficult to answer them when I wasn't listening to him. I had not cut him off, and the only question he answered was when I asked their availability, which he responded rude and partially answered the question. I told him I was not being rude to him and I didn't appreciate his rude behavior. He began backpedaling with "well sir I'm not being rude I'm explaining to you nobody ever said that." After that I told him to have a nice day and hung up. I cannot comment on the quality of tattoos or the other artists/piercers at this establishment, but I will not be going back due to this unprofessional interaction I had with said individual. read more

I went to Skin Deep for microblading & had an amazing experience. Tayler Hager did a wonderful job on my eyebrows. She walked me through the whole process, and took great concern making sure my brows were as perfect as possible. She's a very down to earth, genuine person as well. I enjoyed my experience from beginning to end. The shop is one of the cleanest tattoo shops I have ever seen. At first when my friend and i went in, we were very excited to get our small tattoos. The guys at the counter were very informative and nice and made sure to answer all of our questions,so we figured it was going to be a great experience! However when we got back to actually get the tattoos the atmosphere completely changed. The guy who was giving us the tattoos was very rude and made snippy remarks the entire time. I am happy with the way my tattoo turned out but he treated it as a tedious chore. I do not think i will go back to this place because we were not able to get comfortable and i would rather see a tattoo artist who takes everyone seriously and gives them the time of day no matter how big or small their tattoo is. read more
