AWFUL AWFUL!!! Parts don't work, customer service non-existent. They do not take ownership of any problem. Purchased transmission they claimed was tested paid to put it in and it was jumping off the back next day car would not move Sent me to a shop and they guy even told them it was bad wanted to blame on programming. Do not go business with them or you will be out of double labor cost like me $1,500 turned to 3,000. Parts are not testing and the white lady "manager" is rude and want respect but don't give it. I unfortunately recently made a purchase from this company in which the part turned out to be defective and did not work only to told after the fact that they conveniently don't do refunds on electrical parts. I specifically asked for a trunk lid for my 2010 Volkswagen Jetta. I asked the woman on the phone if they would take it off and she said they would. When I arrived at 4:40 PM, they refused to serve me because they close at 5pm. If there was a deadline, then they should have told me this before I drove 30 to 40 minutes in traffic. DeKalb auto salvage is a crooked business. They sale trash. They don't allow you to see the engine before purchase and even when they know it's damaged won't refund your money. Instead they'll ship your mechanic a second damaged engine without your authorization so that they can keep your money. They'll lie in court and you'll end up spending more money to pursue your case, because the judge has no time to examine the facts. Smh and totally pissed that I ever went to their establishment and trusted them to be fair and just. read more

Scammers don't discriminate. Especially don't trust the pretty white women in the front.. they're the ploy for the Arabs to bring you a bad part to the front after the girls butter you up. Also business there is so bad that for several different people; the only way that they make money nowadays is by having the white woman promise you that you can bring the part back for a refund.. then when you bring it back they will get very hostile leaving you in a situation to contemplate your sanity or either take them to court which you can't do because they have many signs that say NO REFUNDS .. Words cannot express how ridiculous, unprofessional, and uninformative this business is! I called this place on a Wednesday, was told that they had my part. I advised "Aaron" that I'd be there on Thurs to pick it up. I drove from Beaver Ruin to their location on Covington Hwy only for a "Tommy/Tim," to tell me that they didn't have it. After he communicated with "Aaron" via two way radio for about 15 minutes, they/he then tried to tell me that I ASKED FOR THE WRONG YEAR WHEN I ORIGINALLY CALLED. Let me just say that prior to calling DeKalb Auto Salvage I called FIVE OTHER YARDS. So do you really think after asking about the same part FIVE times PRIOR to my call to DAS, I'd really ask for the WRONG part.! Nevertheless, after spending 20 minutes in this dump, they go thru a series of research steps (via their computer system) to see if they cold find a match. No match. After walking out and just sitting in my car in PURE DISGUST, the NICE young lady came outside to me and said "Wait, we may have a similar car with the same operable part." Unfortunately, the year ('96) didn't match what I needed so again, NOTHING. I then get out of my car, went back in and very kindly asked Tommy/Tim if he knew of any other location nearby that may have what I need. He informed me that he was at least willing to look thru his system to see since I was so greatly inconvenienced. He located the part at Budget Auto Salvage (Candler Rd). I then asked him, so that I would not experience the SAME let down that DAS gave me, could he AT LEAST call Budget Salvage to make sure so I wouldn't MAKE another trip in vain. THIS MAN LOOKED AT ME AND SAID "OK NOW, I'M GONNA START CHARGING YOU."...... I'm looked at him and politely told him "No you're not going to charge me a dime after your company misspoke and had me drive the distance I did only to say "We don't have the part that you asked for, and you must have asked for the wrong year." The moral to this story, NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY HAVE AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE VIA PHONE AND IN PERSON AND THE PEOPLE (EXCEPT THE LADY) ARE EXCEPTIONALLY RUDE AS IF EVERY CUSTOMER IS NOT A CUSTOMER AT ALL! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND S&W OR BUDGET WHICH IS ON CANDLER RD NEAR I20. NEVER EVER WILL I GO BACK TO THIS DUMP, and I'm not just talking about the yard. read more
