Website states: "If you are interested in coming inside to browse through the store, we are currently allowing no more than 3 people at a time inside. Please ring the doorbell located on the left side of the door when you arrive. Masks are required to come in." Staff seem to be entirely unaware of this store policy and encourage pedestrian clientele to stand in line at the drive thru, even at night in the rain. The owner needs to have a serious talk with his insurance provider about the potential nightmare scenario this advice creates. Someone is going to be seriously injured or killed. read more

Drive thru liquor store? Need I say more?? It was a Friday afternoon, headed home from work and needed to grab some Herradura and Fiddler for our happy hour drinks. I swung in to the parking lot and realized it was drive thru only and got the same surge of excitement from when my dad would take us to Chick Fil A on the way to school. This used to be a very convenient place to stop on the way home and go through the drive through. Apparently, the owner has decided to close the drive through. The convenience of the drive through was a real draw for us. We have been loyal customers for 16 years but with the elimination of the drive through we will go back to shopping at Greens and Tower whose prices are better. read more

I have bought quite a few bottles from here, the manager is a very polite individual who was willing to order a whole case of wine just so I could get one bottle for my girlfriend. Racist employees!!! The main culprit is Jonathan. If you are a person of color; he will lock in an be track your every move as if you are a criminal. After giving this place two more opportunities, but receiving the same profiling- I explained to him how he came across and his lack of professionalism. John (tall and blonde) was defensive and unapologetic. That was all I needed to know. Do not patronize this place as he targets people of color. I recently spoke to manage and they stand behind him??? Honestly, there are too many other options in my neighborhood which also happen to be open later; plus warmly treat and respect people of all walks of life! It is laughable that they posted a black female on their Yelp page (looks like a Google screenshot of a woman in a bathroom if you study the fake pic), as minorities are NOT welcome just tolerated at this establishment. They have been so wonderful for a long time, but they really stepped up during quarantine. They always have what I'm looking for, the staff is amazingly knowledgeable, and the prices are great. I love using the drive thru and I love that they've added lists of the best sellers and their cocktail kits to check out while you wait in the drive thru. Great little neighborhood corner store. Don't judge a book by its cover- inside is orderly, clean, and bright! Good selection of various wines at all price points. Considering the size of the building, they've organized it to maximize inventory. Extremely friendly and helpful employees. You'd think a small package store right off the Emory campus with a drive-thru would be quite nice. I've only been to one other package store that had a drive-thru and they went out of business years ago, so I was slightly surprised to see this one. Unfortunately, the presence of the drive-thru was the only reason I'd ever want to go here again. Basically, the owners here are not so quick. I was in line to buy a 4 pack of Bass, for the not competitive rate of $7. There are two registers here: one for the drive-thru and one for on-foor folks. I stand in line at the normal one and then get called to use the drive-thru one, only to get over there and have the guy stand there for 3 minutes trying to figure out HOW TO RING UP THE PURCHASE. Finally he gives up and tells me to go stand in the other line again, which I do. When I get up to the register again, the guy stands there and messes with the box and futzes around and finally figures out how to ring up the price. He asks if I want credit or debit. I say credit. I always say credit. He asks me to punch in my numbers on the debit machine. This always seems to happen. I intentionally say 'CREDIT' carefully because motards who work registers often do debit no matter what I say. Anyhow, long story short: it took me 15 minutes to make a 30 second purchase. Plus the place is pretty small and their selection is rather limited, so there's absolutely no reason to go by here, even in passing like I did, unless you really feel like you don't want to get out of your car. read more

After coming here and spending money for over 4 years I will never come back here. I bought some wine on Friday night and was on my way next door to pick up my food and was told I could not leave me car there for even 1 min to get my food. I could understand If I just parked there without buying anything, but this was not the case. I asked the manager if he would rather loose my business over a lifetime, than grant me 5 min to run next door and pick up my food and he said yes . Well you got your wish over some petty nonsense. I will NEVER return to this place, nor will any of my friends, family or associates. There are plenty of bottle shops around that want my business and 99% of them are also not overpriced like your store. I drove one mile up to the American Bottle shop on Clairmont and they treated me nice and their prices were way lower for the exact same item. read more

Simply put, DBH is the one of the best neighborhood liquor stores ever! Not only do they have a deep and unique selection of what I'm usually after (beer, bourbon & whiskey), they also have everything else that you could possibly want at great prices delivered with impeccable service. Incidentally, every time I go see Jat, it's like taking a spirits master class - the dude knows his stuff! Last but not least, all of it is available with incredible convenience of the drive through should you want it (which the wife loves of course). Strong 4+ stars. I really like this store, and it includes a drive-through if you just need to swing through. It is definitely fairly small, but with a surprisingly diverse beer and whisky selection, including some pretty interesting/uncommon higher end Scotch releases in particular. Not super expansive necessarily, but seems well-curated. They have a more limited wine selection that covers some decent depth in the "good value" range. The folks working there always seem happy and glad to see you. The drive-through component is notable and convenient when needed. read more
