I'm pretty upset to find that I've been recommending DeKalb Roofing for the last few years and I should not have. DeKalb Roofing did a complete reroof for me in 2022. Recently I got a couple of quotes to have the soffit and fascia replaced on my house. I started seeing mold in areas which I'd never seen before. One of the roofing companies that I asked for a quote told me that my new roof doesn't include a drip edge. I've never heard of a drip edge. I have read up on it now and know that it is a code item in DeKalb County. It prevents water from intruding into your soffit, hence stopping mold from growing. It also helps keep rodents out. I called DeKalb Roofing and was told that I was probably "offered" the drip edge but I declined. Hogwash. I still have their original quote for my roof replace and nowhere does it say drip edge. I'm now faced with paying over $5,000 as the cost to add the drip edge is considerably higher after the roof is completed. I don't like being deceived. I have to have some kind of trust in contractors that they will tell me what's code. Instead of cutting corners and charging huge sums like they're doing the right thing. I really don't know how they sleep at night. read more

DeKalb Roofing replaced our roof, gutters, soffit, and fascia. It was a large job for a great price, and well done. We had a few quotes. One big name was over twice as much. We couldn't have found a better crew, or owners. A tree limb fell on the house within a month or two. I called Jeffery and he was out the next day, removing the limb and repairing it himself. Dekalb Roofing Company installed the original roof on our house when it was built in 1985. Over the course of 40 years, we have had them replace two more roofs on our home with the second being last year. Yesterday, we had them complete a repair on our eave that was beginning to rot. They did a great job just as they have done with each of our roof replacements. We love and trust this company because they are honest, prompt, do excellent work and their pricing is fair. We will continue to use them as long as we own our house and highly recommend them. These days, you are fortunate indeed when you find a company that has integrity and does good work. read more

Dekalb Roofing did a complete roof replacement, new gutters and replacement of lot of rotting boards on my house. They're fast-completed all this in 1 1/2 days. Their cleanup was so thorough there was no sign that they had even been here. Their estimate was the lowest of the 3 I got (although one of those was known for being excellent but high -turns out they were ridiculously high.) The coolest part was a week or so later I saw some shingles hanging down over the edge. They came right out and fixed it that day. The damage was caused by squirrels or some other critters trying to chew into the attic. Even though the damage wasn't from anything Dekalb did, they didn't charge me anything for the repair. Great guys, awesome service and reasonable price. What's not to like?! read more

Jeff came out for the estimate. He was very thorough, took notes and pictures of our particular requests (e.g., remove old gutters before new roof application, extended drip edge to thwart rodent entry, etc.). DeKalb Roofing's pricing was lower than the big advertising roofers but not the lowest we received. Price was a factor as this was a large purchase however we were also concerned about the quality of the job. So the level of detail paid during the quoting process helped drive the decision. Jose was the foreman for the roofing work. He reviewed the scope of the job before they started and he had the same list of our specific requests provided to Jeff so there was no having to re-hash everything with him nor his being surprised. He and his team did an excellent job and were very thorough. Julio then took charge for the gutters and gutter covers. The same crew so they knew the nuances of the roof edge already. Same level of detail for the gutters, covers and downspouts. We have a lot of large poplars so our roof gets covered with their pollen flowers and seeds in the fall. There were no gaps in the covers for those pesky seeds to get between. Also went with the Leaf Solution Xtreme Gutter Guard system after having tried various types, all of which clog with the poplars. Both jobs had very good attention to detail which would be very easy to skip or hide on such a large job, i.e., replacing questionable fascia which will be covered by gutters, making sure there were no gaps between fascia and roof edge (as we had requested), plenty of caulk and mastic to ensure long-term, weather-proof seals, etc. Both Jose and Julio have been with DeKalb Roofing for 20+ years, so it's a stable company that can keep employees. They definitely know their stuff and clearly wanted to do a good job. The crew cleaned up entire area after the job and left it in some areas better than when they arrived. This is my third roofing job in 20 years between two houses and this by far was the best experience. For that reason, and because I had a hard time selecting which roofers for quotes just to start the process and was on sites like this looking, I highly recommend DeKalb Roofing. read more

Dekalb Roofing gave us excellent service from the time we requested an estimate until the new roof was completed. Our roof had storm damage and we ended up getting their estimate before the insurance inspection due to the backlog of needed inspections due to storms. The insurance inspector recommended some upgrades for functionality and longevity. Turns out Dekalb Roofing had already included them in the estimate. The job was started and finished on time. The quality of the crew impressed us by arriving on time every day, letting us know when they were leaving and not leaving any debris or impacting the landscaping (even from removing the old roof). Called Monday 10/21/2019 for them to come out and give a quote on a roof leak, they said they would be out the next day and no one needed to be home. The next day (yesterday Tuesday 10/22/2019) is going by with no update so I call to find out when they will go by... the woman says between 10am and 2pm ( it's after 1pm when I called) and they will both call and email me the update and leave a "we were here" notice on the door. STILL no update and that was yesterday so I call today just now at 3:15pm on Wednesday and the guy who answers the phone, Chet or Chep says no one got back with me because I didn't give him an email address when I talked to him and the file was on his desk he was "just about" to call me... But the lady I talked to yesterday got my email address sir and said I would be given a response yesterday by PHONE as well as email so why did I have to be the one to call again to get an answer? He tries to cut me off with excuses and then says anyway the company can't bid on the job because they only do work on two story structures... I pointed out to him the house IS a two-story house and he just kind of lamely repeats his lie. I seriously doubt they even went to the house at all and it seems like they are practicing some serious discrimination in which addresses they bother with and which they give the run-around and the disappearing act. I'll be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau because the 2 whole business days of my time they wasted I could have gotten a better company to already be out there providing a quote. After much research and thought, my wife and I decided to use Dekalb Roofing for a new roof and gutter installation. We noticed that they have been in the community for over 25 yrs and had a good reputation. The 2 consultations we had with Stacey were great and the price was extremely reasonable but not so low that it made you question if corners were going to be cut. Jose and the roofing crew came on September 9 earlier and finished the same day! They did an excellent job of making sure our property was taken care of and left no debris! They even cleaned and straightened items on my my back patio area that they didn't have to. The next day Rey and his team came and installed the seamless gutters and covers and did a magnificent job. Both Jose and Rey took the time to QA the work performed and didn't leave until I was absolutely satisfied. My father-in-law who is a professional contractor confirmed Dekalb Roofing did an excellent job and said he would be using them in the future for his roofing needs. Had Jeff out to see my roof. We recently had the house painted and the painters fixed some rotted wood but didn't caulk an area where the trim meets the roof at an addition point. This was allowing some rain to drip into our living room at the addition seam. Instead of suggesting some costly repair, jeff suggested I simply caulk it because everything looked okay otherwise. We had a leak in our roof that we called DeKalb Roofing to repair. It leaked again, so we had them out again...and again for a 3rd time. The leak is still there and when we called to have them come out to repair what should have been fixed 3 service calls before, we were told that they didn't have time to come out any time soon because of their more important new home projects. In addition, they said that they didn't warranty any of their work and we would have to pay for the service call and repairs!!! Now we are having to pay a hefty sum to have a new roofing company come and repair the now extensive damage that wasn't address by DeKalb Roofing. read more

We had a new roof installed by DeKalb Roofing in 1997. It has a 20 year warranty. It still looks pretty good. In 2002, our roof started leaking due to some work done as part of a kitchen remodel. DeKalb Roofing came out and fixed the leak. No charge. In 2009, during a storm, a tree limb punched a hole in our roof. DeKalb Roofing came out and fixed the leak. No charge. In 2016, I noticed a loose shingle a couple of days after a storm. Again, DeKalb Roofing came out, fixed the loose shingle, and checked the rest of the roof to make sure it was OK. No charge. I guess if something happens to the roof next year, they will charge (after the 20 year warranty is up), but you can bet I'm calling them for my next roof! read more

We contacted Dekalb Roofing on Sunday when we suspected a leak in our roof. Robert Berry came out to our home on Monday while we were at work to inspect the problem. He diagnosed the source of the problem and caulked it while onsite and called us to let us know the problem was fixed by mid-day Monday. Excellent and prompt service! I made an appointment for a repair estimate and drove 1 hour from the other side of town to be there. DeKalb Roofing never showed up or bothered calling. However, I did notice a red truck that stopped and backed out of the driveway without getting out (well after the scheduled appointment time). I had to call THEM to ask WHY nobody showed up for the scheduled appointment or bothered to call. It turns out that the red truck was them and they said that they would not do work to the house because it was too big. REALLY??? If they would have bothered to pull up to the house and get out of the truck, I would have showed them the part of the roof that needed repair. It was not steep and not high up. He said that they only do work on one story ranch homes. WHY didn't anyone bother calling me to let me know this? AND WHY didn't the appointment scheduler inform me that you only do work on single story ranch homes??? VERY RUDE and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! read more
