They are thieves and pray on older people who don't know any better. I had a contract with them and they told me I had mold and wanted to change all my ductwork. Their price would have $17,000 and them they gave me another price a little lower but still over $14,000. I contacted Del-Air Electric & Plumbing during a bathroom remodel because I wanted a shower valve replaced. Originally, I asked about replacing the entire valve, but I was told I only needed the internal components replaced instead, and I was quoted $315. Since they were the professionals, I trusted their recommendation and approved the work. After the plumber returned with the parts, I was then told the internals "couldn't be removed" and the entire valve would need replacing after all -- which was my original request from the start. The problem is that parts of the wall and plumbing had already been cut into before the updated pricing was discussed with me. That's when the quote suddenly jumped to $1,497 for a job involving roughly a $90 valve and what should realistically be around two hours of labor. I fully understand skilled trades are expensive, but a labor rate that effectively comes out to $500-$700 per hour for a residential plumbing call is hard to justify. What made the situation worse was how quickly the pricing changed once I pushed back. The quote went from $1,497 to $1,000 after a phone call to the office, and then down again to $700 when I still declined. That kind of pricing structure does not feel transparent or upfront. It felt more like negotiating at a car dealership than receiving a straightforward professional estimate. If the price can drop by hundreds of dollars within minutes, it raises serious concerns about how inflated the original quote was to begin with. To be fair, the plumber himself was professional and did quality work. My frustration is with the company's pricing practices and how the situation was handled overall. The bathroom was already fully opened up and prepped because it's in the middle of a remodel, so there was no demolition or wall access work required on their end. All they really had to do was handle the pipe work and valve replacement. I only hired this out because I'm currently in an arm brace and physically unable to do it myself. I also currently pay this company $19.50 per month for an HVAC maintenance membership, but after this experience I'll be canceling it because I no longer see the value. This company is always late for scheduled appointments and do not return phone calls. They were suppose to put in a new a/c filter, not the paper ones you can purchase at home depot. I started calling on a Monday and finally some one came out on a Thursday. I agree with other comments written by other customers. They seem disorganized but when staff does answer phone calls they are not rude. read more

I would give them zero stars if it was possible. Terrible customer service, always at least 2-3 hours late outside of the 4-hour window they give you. It is difficult to get anyone at Del-Air to help with virtually anything, especially now that they are using AI to answer calls. Technicians seem to be OK, but the admin, scheduling and dispatch staff is awful, cannot or will not answer questions, constantly screwing up the scheduling and then lying about it. I found this company to be a little on the shady side. I thought I was calling my regular AC guys and they allowed me to believe that's who they were but when They showed up I found they had actually bought out the pop and son business I used for years. They did not discuss with us what we wanted or needed as they had already decided what unit we were getting. The unit cost twice as much and we expected a price increase but this is half the unit we had. Unfortunately, after three service calls, I will not be using them again. First Visit: My 87-year-old mother-in-law's AC wouldn't start. Del-Air diagnosed the issue as needing a start assist, which they installed. However, they also mentioned the start capacitor was "very weak" and should be replaced soon. I was frustrated--if the capacitor was weak, that should have been the first thing checked. Sure enough, just three days later, I had to call them back to replace it. Second Visit: A technician arrived but refused to service the unit because it was frozen over. When I asked what defrosting would cost, I was quoted $300--just to turn the system off. When I asked if that's all that was involved, the tech confirmed. We chose to turn it off ourselves and scheduled a return visit. Third Visit: The next day, the technician returned--this time with a Del-Air salesperson. Without performing any diagnostics, they told us the system was out of warranty and that repairs would be so costly we should consider a full replacement. I paid for a leak check, and they claimed the accumulator was oily (indicating a leak) and that the indoor coils were also leaking. Not trusting their assessment, I brought in another HVAC company for a second opinion. Their findings were eye-opening: The unit was still under warranty There was no issue with the accumulator The system still had refrigerant, suggesting no nitrogen purge had been done Bottom Line: My experience with Del-Air was marked by questionable diagnostics, upselling tactics, and a lack of transparency. Complete scam artist. They stated that I needed Freon and a new coil. They tried to charge me $3200 to "fix" what was wrong. Keep in mind this is a new AC unit. Obviously I did not pay that amount and called a second company out. This new company realized all that was wrong was I needed my lines flushed. $125 later my house is cool as can be. read more

I bought 2 new AC units from this company and have nothing but problems ever since! They do not show up for appointments, never call, and you cannot get anyone to call you back. This is the 6th appointment they have missed. I have been promised call backs from a manager, they never call. Unfortunately, when I bought the AC units, they included 5 years of maintenance, so I am stuck with them. They still haven't closed out the permit from the original installation back in August. It is now the end of February. When an inspector from the city came, he found multiple issues that they need to correct, but I cannot get them to show up or call me back. I was just on hold for 40 minutes, and then hung up on. When you call the main office, they say "There is nothing I can do". I train customer service agents, and this is the worst I have ever seen. Do not use this company. They will lie to you, take your money, and then you are on your own. I used them when they were Rescue Rooter, and they were good. Stay away from this company. I called them to repair an apartment's air conditioning unit. They came three times and didn't know what it was. They wanted to charge me $300 to add more gas when they measured it and it was enough. Of course, they stole the $99 for the visit and did nothing. read more

From the beginning a nightmare. They ran wrong electrical wire that was too small (from the outside electric box to the HVAC); they had put in gauge10 and it should have been a gauge 8 wire according to their electrician (Chris). When they left a breaker inside house flipped and left a one whole room and 1/2 of another with no electricity for days. Del Air sent out an electrician (Chris) who found the wrong electric wire was run from outside electric box to air handler). He had repair people come out and replace a piece inside by the air handler to make up for the wire that was too small. That fixed this problem of the whole room outage. Then they left, I had another breaker flip. They sent a different electrician out and just LOOKED at the light switch and said it was a short (NOT!) in the light switch or outlet in living room (which was ALSO involved in the first breaker problem). I told him it was not (and if it was, they caused it). I have never had breakers flip! The first electrician called and said he'd come back out (that's been approximately 4 weeks ago) with something to show me it was a short (my problem to pay to have fixed; tearing wall out). They have yet to return and do anything about this breaker flipped. I reached out to the first electrician about coming back out, by text several times and no reply. I called in 2-3 "escalations" that I've been told that each goes to 4 managers. Still, no one has reached me. I still have a breaker flipped. Also, they left my insider electric box with 'blanks' in the place of where 2 breaker switches used to be. One blank is lose and falling out. My inside electric box was left without what breakers service what now. I know they are going to try to tell you it's a short which I know it is not. This 'so called short' was caused by the original wrong wire being installed. Realize that this outlet/switch is the SAME outlet that was involved in the FIRST breaker flip. A big coincidence that is now a short and is my problem (as Chris, the first electrician, basically said). read more

Tell me I'm wrong with this review. I've used Rescue Rooter for years and continued once they became Del Air. That was until today. I scheduled an appointment last week and was given a 2 hr window. No show, no call. I called to cancel because I had an appointment that I had rescheduled for Del Air. I got a call an hour later from the Tech asking for the gate code. I informed him that I canceled. 2 minutes later Del Air called with a poor excuse but I did reschedule for the following week. Again I was promised that someone would be here between 9 and 11. Again, no show, no call. I made this time specifically for them but had plans for the afternoon. I called to cancel and explained why. 20 minutes later a Tech calls saying he would be here around noon. I had already left for the afternoon appointments. I am very unhappy with this company which was once the most professional company when it was Rescue Rooter. I'm searching for a reputable A/C company that can at least call. I would prefer one that shows up. A manager should be evaluated based on the weakest employees performance. In this case it started with who ever has a phone stuck to their ear. Del-Air Heating & Air Condition is a company that cannot be trusted. I used Del-Air in the past because the company installed the A/C unit in our new home seven years ago. However, in June 2024 the company sent two technicians to fix my A/C unit. The A/C unit only needed to have the lines drained because I had this type of A/C problem before. Instead the technician added refrigerant to my A/C and charged me $299.00. Unfortunately, the added refrigerant did not take care of the problem. Approximately 2-hours later, we still did not have any Air blowing. I called Del-Air again and explained that the A/C problem was not fixed. The company sent the same technician back to my home that same day. The technician told me he drained and cleaned the line. In addition, he told me that we needed to wait 24 hours before the A/C air start blowing. I have owned several homes in my life time, and I never had someone tell me I needed to wait 24 hours before my A/C unit start working again. At this point I knew the technician was incompetent. Therefore, I contacted Del-Air again and the company sent two different technicians out the next day. These two technicians lied and stated they were going do a diagnostic inspection and fix my A/C unit. The technicians went outside to look at my Air and Heating system unit and Air Handler. Approximately, 30 minutes later they came back inside and told us we needed a complete new Air and Heating system. They tried to pressure us into purchasing a new A/C & Heating system for $22,000.00. As a result, they had no intentions on fixing our A/C unit. They were only there to sell us a new Air & Heating system. By this time, we were totally through with Del-Air. I contacted Del-Air business office and explained to them what had transpired and requested a refund for the $299.00 that I was charged for service not completed. Del-Air company refunded me my $299.00 a few days later. I contacted another Air Conditioner & Heating company. They sent a technician out that same day and he fixed my A/C unit in less than an hour. My husband scheduled an appointment for an electrical repair. The appointment was between 8 and 12 on Tuesday. At 4PM he received a call telling my husband the worker went home sick. The scheduler made an appointment for early morning on Friday, the Electrician showed up late afternoon and told my husband he would be back early Monday morning with the part he needed. He never received a phone call confirming or cancelling the appointment. My husband made several phone calls to Del Air, the scheduler had the same canned script telling my husband that they would escalate his concern to a supervisor, or transfer his call only to be hung up on, and or the call never returned. It his now Wednesday, and we have not received a call from Del Air. This concerns both of us because Del Air has been servicing our air conditioner for a couple years now, and if their customer service has sunk to this level of incompetence and indifference it may be time to move on. I heard the Frank Gay commercial today on the radio and the commercial captured his experience. read more
