Recently I bought a home that's a bit older with a pool. The only other pool I've had was one I built, so I was a bit skeptical about an older pool. Del came to do the inspection, and besides being incredibly delightful, he is also very thorough. He explained what he ran into and also showed me the things that needed repairing. The real magic came in his written report. Wow! So detailed, thorough and clear as to what things needed to be done, some things that "should" be done and recommendations for running and maintaining the system in top condition. If I could leave negative stars I would because 1 star is way too high of a rating for this company. I'm in the process of selling my home and the people that decided to buy my home decided to use Del Does Pools to inspect my pool. This company clearly does not know a single thing about pools. I'm very meticulous about my pool and it is crystal clear 24/7 till this company showed up. When I got home from work, I saw that my entire back yard was flooded from when they backwashed my pool. They did not use the connecting pipes that were laid right next to drain out and sand filter to run the water into the yard and trees like you are supposed to. They were too lazy to do that and flooded my back yard instead. Then instead of going into the rinse cycle like you are supposed to do with a SAND FILTER they put it back into filter mode and all the backwash debris and cloudy merky water from the sand filter blew back into the pool making my entirely crystal clear pool a cloudy gray mess. It took exactly a week of running my filter non stop to clear my pool back up because or their incompetence. They told my agent that he ran the backwash and then back to filter and says that the spider gaskets is going bad and that's what happened with my pool. This person clearly doesn't know anything because you have to rinse the SAND FILTER before you go back into filter mode. If you want headaches and want to use people that don't know anything about pools then these are your people. Clearly incompetent! Before and after pictures attached. He seemed very knowledgeable about the pool equipment, and what it would cost to do the repairs or replace a few parts here and there. He arrived on time, was very friendly, and really took the time to explain everything in his report. The fee was $300, which seems to be about the market cost for a pool inspection. I've made an offer for a home with a pool and was very nervous about it as I've never owned a pool. Del came highly recommended so I asked him to conduct an inspection on the property. Del was the last inspection that day and I had to grab some lunch so he ended up getting to the house almost an hour before me, thankfully, he was kind enough to to use the gate and start work. By the time I got there, Del was ready to walk me through the details. Amazing. It was like the guy owned and maintained the pool for last 10 years. He walked me through all the important stuff to look at, the stuff that the previous owner did well, the stuff that he didn't, the things that were part of the original pool and were now missing, things that are going to break soon, the things that I need to fix, the creative ideas on how I can save a buck or two (totally needed when buying a house these days...), and everything - with a huge smile and good spirit. After the inspection I was reassured, more confident and smiling. Thanks Del! A couple of days later, I got the *very* detailed report on the inspection which was very useful and important. Del also suggested that once I got the house he'll come over again and we'll work out a plan on what and how to fix etc. Amazing. Got a pool inspection from Del on a house that my wife and I are currently in the process of buying. I am not big on pools because of the costs it takes to maintain but Del was very knowledgable about everything that comes with owning and maintaining a pool. Very unprofessional. Showed up 15 minutes late and when we made a comment about him being late he said "do you want me to do the job?" When we asked how long it would take he said "45 min" and then he said "you know what, I'm outta here" and he got in his car (which he parked in the driveway blocking us in) and drove away.
