They do good work but their pricing is unrealistic and not in line with any others I have used. The will not do an ounce more work than the minimum without billing for it. Beyond base pricing (and chlorine), they bill for most necessary chemicals separately. This happens multiple times a month so expect an extra $35-$70 on your bill. Don't forget required filter cleanings at an exorbitant price. I would look around for a place that won't nickel and dime you. Also, $220 a month for a service (mid level package) that does not even clean leaves from the pool is outrageous. read more

My experience with Travis was horrible! He is rude and unprofessional! I reached out to discuss slime buildup that has never been cleaned. I also have a video of the tech not cleaning the pool correctly. I have a family member that worked for a pool company and he confirmed the pool was not being cleaned right. We were searching around to convert our sand filter to a Jandy CL 580 Cartridge filter. I had a pool guy that I had been using on and off for years and wanted him to do the job. Unfortunately he came back with a price that was nearly $1,000 higher than he had quoted a year before. I called a couple of places but did not feel comfortable with the response, or lack of when I asked for a quote. Then I called Nor Cal pools and that all changed. Ryan the owner answered, I told him the issues I've been having what I wanted to do and he was helpful and very quick to get a quote to me. The next day the quote was emailed and I was shocked, it was $850.00 less than the guy I had been using for years. Same filter and the exact same job, in fact Ryan even installed a couple of other accessories he thought that would help me. Three day's later Andrew showed up on time at 9:30 AM and started. It was a rough job due to the size of the sand filter and to haul it away took him and Ryan to deal with. But, I could not be happier with the outcome. Top notch job Andrew even painted the plumbing pipes to match the inlet to the new pump. All I can really say is give Nor Cal pools a call when you need service or repair. Here is my story: We are renting a house in Livermore and have been here for 6 years. We have had 4 different pool services since we have been here. Now our pool isn't the easiest. Whom ever had the pool put in and planted these big pine trees near it weren't really thinking straight. The wind in Livermore is crazy and we have constant problems with these pine needles going into the pool and clogging all traps. We are now on our 3rd pool sweeper. I had given our landlord information to contact NorCal Pool Service because I have only heard good things about them, since our old pool service guy wasn't cutting it. We hired them on and from the beginning they have proven there trustworthiness. I have 3 kids and they tested the water and mentioned that the PH level was extremely high and they will do everything they can to bring it down. I had told them to just drain it and to start from square 1. After talking to Ryan about all my concerns with the pool, he then, that same day, called the landlord and explained everything that was going on with the pool. We practically have a brand new pool because of Ryan. New and fresh clean water, new pool sweeper (that will last a lifetime), and a whole new pool system. We are back on track and ready to enjoy this pool again. Oh, and let me just explain about his crew. They ALL have been amazing. Travis is our new pool guy and informs me about everything and is one of the nicest guys to talk to. Gene drained the pool and informed me in detail on how everything is going to happen. After NorCal notified us that they forgot to pull their monthly fees for a full 10 months at the beginning of our service and then asked for thousands of dollars - after I have been unemployed since January. I made payment arrangements with them to pay the amount in FULL as soon as I am working again. They agreed and I confirmed via email and THEN SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS because apparently they don't believe in verbal or written agreements and I'm still unemployed and not collecting any unemployment. I agreed to pay them and they didn't care about the agreement, but sent me to collections in hopes of damaging my credit. I'm ashamed to have ever used them at all or trusted them. The owner (Ryan Steele) refuses to even call and discuss with me, but has their "Manager" Travis do the dirty work - AND he is the one who disregarded the agreement completely. Such a sad, sad thing for a business like this. I would never recommend them. This entire event has taken place over less than 3 months, but regardless, I'm still seeking employment and believed we had an arrangement for repayment. (Aside from this unfortunate incident with them, their pool servicing representative was always courteous and polite; however, he did leave cigarette butts inside my backyard and at my driveway curb, as well as forgetting empty liquid chlorine bottles - which we discussed directly with him and he corrected promptly, apologizing sincerely.) read more

I recently moved into a home with a pool and had to have it replastered. Once it was replastered I contacted NorCal Pool Service for a Startup service. I was told the Startup for a newly plastered pool would be $700. According to the estimate, this included 2 weeks of chemicals to balance the water and brushing of entire surface 3 days per week M, W, F. Being a new pool owner and unaware of the costs associated with owning a pool I was naive and didn't do my homework. I have since learned that this price is excessive. Other Pool Service companies charge at least half that price. An expensive lesson learned but hoping I can help someone else out in the process. I won't bore you with all the details but the three day a week visits just didn't happen. It was more like three visits total within those two weeks and one of those visits was for an issue I was having with the pump and charged $45 for the visit. After that, I ended up just canceling with them and going with another company. Swim Well Pool Company came out and went over all the pool equipment with my husband and I, showed us how to hook up the pool vacuum and pool cleaner, assisted us with ordering new filters, answered our dozen questions, and didn't charge us a dime. They are now servicing our pool and it's not a guessing game when they'll show or how much they'll charge. Now that's customer service and we are so appreciative and highly recommend Swim Well Pool Company. read more
