I saw Dr Del Junco for buzzing in my left ear and dizziness and recent vertigo episodes. He ordered a hearing test which indicated mild hearing loss. He told me my tinnitus was part of aging and to take lipoflavanoids for the tinnitus. Did not address my vertigo and was very dismissive towards me. So very disappointed. He came highly recommended. Your only as good as your office staff. That's where it starts. I called from the hosptial on a Friday afternoon late. I was hospitalized for server vertigo and loss of hearing left ear. Desperate for an appt and its crucial if you have SSNHL. Treatment must be started within 3 days no later than 2 weeks. I knew I needed to be seen right away. I spoke to Valerie ( I believe ) and she was rude and uncaring. 100 percent. She could care less or have any sympathy for me. I'm not the only patient. I know that but she should be able to identify urgent. Period. She proceeded to tell me she would get me in, in 2 weeks and it would be for a hearing test only. God I am glad I reached out to other practices and found caring staff that knew my situation was dire. I called another place THe Greater Oc spoke to a lady that took my info called me back an hour later on a Friday night and got me in on Monday. I went to see Dr. Del Junco in the late 90's to address ongoing nasal, snoring and breathing issues. After 3 operations, he took care of the issue. In fact, he found a large growth in my nose which had been growing since birth. He successfully removed it. Though he was my hero, I did notice he got irritated quickly, and his bulldog staff was quite rude and unprofessional. Fast forward to this month. I suddenly developed a blockage in my left nostril which I couldn't remove. For two weeks, this blockage created such pressure that it disrupted my sleep, to the point where I could only get at most 2 hours of sleep a day, if that. In desperation, I contacted Dr. Del Junco asking for an appointment as soon as possible. His office person told me I must have full medical insurance, Medicare and cash were not accepted. I told her I only needed one office visit with him, to determine what was going on, and how to address it. After a lot of pleading and begging with this office person, she told me she would talk to the doctor after his current patient, and he would probably give me a call. He never called after that, and his office person did no follow-up. I was able to address the issue this week and am breathing/sleeping normally again. However, I will be going to another ENT doctor to investigate what caused the issue. Dr. Del Junco today is not the doctor he was in the past. He seems to want to treat only young patients to early 40's patients with full medical insurance coverage. His concern and caring for patients has disappeared over the years. Now it appears to be only about getting money from insurance companies. The fact that he couldn't even call me back speaks volumes. Though he is older, he seems to avoid older patients and is unwilling to see them. I am saddened by his decision, but it was his decision to make for whatever reasons. I say if you are an older patient needing ENT assistance, find a good ENT doctor who adheres to the Hippocratic Oath and remembers what it is like to be a patient. I've had nothing but amazing service and attention by the office staff and Dr. Del Junco at this location!!! I highly recommend him to everyone and anyone!! They made me feel like family from day one, with my initial consultation. Dr. Del Junco takes the time to answer all questions and explains things so they are easily understood. The office staff has always returned my inquiries within 24hrs if not the same day, including completing/submitting HR documents for my work. I have never waited more than 15 minutes (max) in the lobby for my appointments. And they always make sure my parking is validated before I leave. Everyone is friendly yet professional. They're quick yet cordial, and highly efficient. On top of everything, Dr. Del Junco is an outstanding surgeon. Minimal scaring, which is actually diminishing with each day! And no pain! Additionally, he has amazing instincts! The man knows his stuff!! He's extremely attentive & genuinely cares about his patients. I honestly can't sing his praises enough... I had a very good experience with Dr. Del Junco. He gives you the facts and his recommendations. I always found him to be pleasant with a good bedside manner in the office and at the hospital after. He removed a moderately sized benign nodule, and therefore half my thyroid. Being a surgeon, he was recommending removing the whole thyroid, but shared with me all options. I also had a thyroglossal duct cyst in my neck that was removed at the same time. The scars are minimal and I still have my voice. It is true that at the office you seldom have to wait long. I have seen Dr. Del Junco twice in 2018 regarding a constant throat problem. He told me the first time I saw him that ENT Drs don't handle "sniffles and allergies". He sent me to see an allergist which took months to see. The allergist did testing and told me I had no reactions and had no allergies. In the meantime my throat issue is getting much worse with coughing and hoarseness and constant sore throat. I was referred back to Dr. Del Junco for re-evaluation. I didn't want to see him again because of my first visit. I called the office and they told me I could not see one of their other doctors and that I had to continue with Dr. Del Junco. The second time I saw him he was irritated that I was there again and told me once again that ENT doctors don't handle sniffles and colds. He told me that my problem was just age (I'm 67) and that when you get older you tend to hunch over which causes the throat problems. He also told me that when you get older "you are like a turtle going back into your shell". He brought out a plastic model of the neck and explained to me how things work. He did mention briefly a PH study which I knew nothing about at the time. I am finally going to get that test almost 1 1/2 years since being symptomatic. I am now seeing a pulmonary doctor and a gastroenterologist for my issues. Anyway, after a year of having symptoms and constantly trying to figure out what was wrong with me, I finally found information on line about a throat condition called LPR which is laryngopharyngeal reflux disease or "silent reflux", I wish Dr. Del Junco would have told me that this might be my problem. I suffered for a whole year before I figured it out and found my way to the right doctors. He either didn't know about LPR or just didn't diagnose my condition properly. I was referred to Dr Lee, by my GP, when I called to make an appointment I was told I saw Dr Del Junco once a few years ago and was told I had to see him. I wasn't a big fan of his but am in major pain from a sinus infection and was desperate to get a second opinion. I saw him today for his opinion on mulberry looking abnormality in my left inferior turbinate. He confirmed he has seen this condition in patients before and advised unless it starts bothering me in daytime , I should do nothing and simply have my LLU Doctor watch it every year to make sure it is not growing. That is very honest and correct approach and different from some doctors who outright recommend surgery.I had been to UCLA, USC, and finally settled on LLU "sinus" specialist who I also like very much. I had been going to Dr. Del Junco for years. I thought he had my best interest in mind. I was having trouble with my ear blocking up. He surgical put a tube in my ear (at age 40) All was good for 5+ years. I started having trouble with the ear again. I was also off balance. He was not able to see me so I saw another Doctor in his office. That doctor told me my ear drum was caved in and just not right and that nothing could be done for it. A couple weeks later I saw Dr. Del Junco to see what he said. I didn't mention what the other doc said, and I doubt he looked in my chart because he is always in such a hurry. He looked into my ear said nothing and sent me for a balance test. The Dr. (tech) where they do the test looked into my ear and said, "did they tell you what they are going to do about the Hole in your ear drum?" I was never told I had a hole in my ear drum! Makes me wonder how it got there. When I asked Dr. Del Junco about it he didn't have an answer and got off the phone quickly. I am done with Dr. Del Junco. read more

Both my husband and I visited Dr. Del Junco for separate issues. We each had the same experience - coincidence? I don't think so! He interrupts you very quickly into your appointment and is not good at listening. I suppose he means well as I don't think most doctors go into the practice because they are trying to be bad at their jobs, but something tends to happen along the way. I personally went for mysterious sinus pain & intense headaches I had been dealing with for YEARS. He told me to visit an allergist and a neurologist and then come back to see him. He sent me downstairs for x-rays to verify I did not have a sinus infection (which I had already told him I had not) and sent me on my way. To this day I have never heard another word from his office. This was back in 2010. I have since visited numerous neurologists, an allergist and am currently looking for a new ENT specialist. I would not waste my time going back to Del Junco. My husband's experience... My husband was sent off to the sleep testing center. He ended up needing to be on a CPAP machine, which he currently uses nightly. Even though Dr. Del Junco is the one who referred my husband to the sleep center, we have never received any kind of follow up care or phone calls WHATSOEVER from his office or from his staff. My husband has been using his machine for almost three years now and no one checks in on him to make sure the levels are set correctly or that he is using the machine properly. (We literally only had one appointment with the doctor.) Dr. Del Junco and his staff are simply NOT COMPETENT at following up. Only God knows the reasons for this. Save yourself a lot of stress and go elsewhere. read more
