The food itself seems straightforward and pretty simple, but each dish had its own flavor which I think is pretty hard to do and each was so satisfyingly delicious. I think I would've bn satisfied with just the menudo and the half order of nachos, but didn't know it at the time we ordered so we went on and got the El Faro burger, my friend ordered the cheese enchiladas and of course we got the chile Christmas on the side. Fantastic! And a tremendous value. We were quite shocked that our entire meal, including 2 sodas came to less that $40, such that we left double that bc these small businesses are such treasures and we want such places to remain in business. Seemed there were quite a few locals but also lots of travelers coming through. I certainly plan to be back soon!

It had a bright red color, actually stained my fingers, and a woodsy taste. I got a comb plate. It has a chili relleno, tamale, taco, and enchilada with rice and beans. And it was good. They have a very nice outside patio with umbrellas and also an indoor dining area. The bathroom is inside the kitchen, so you will see them cooking if you have to go. Luckily we arrived before the place got completely packed. I ordered the chicken blue corn enchiladas with green chile and an over medium egg on top. This came with posole and beans on the side. All this for $16. The enchiladas were stacked and they were packed with chicken. A very nice bite to the chile and egg yolk completed the flavors. Posole and beans were hot and well seasoned. A filling and flavorful lunch. Well worth the stop. Just a note: they aren't opened on Sundays. Monday through Saturdays, lunch is served from 10:30 until 3 PM and supper from 5 to 9 PM. A Texan waiting for the bathroom told me he always orders exactly what I ordered. I would highly recommend it.

Never had a bad meal here, and love the way they do their beans. Chorizo is wonderful, as well (some Saturdays we take a road trip just to have breakfast there). Always eat here on the way to and from Durango. Folks are easy and always friendly. Of course it's a little pricey, but the economy is the driver. But we wouldn't miss eating there for the world! read more

Waitress told us the electricity had gone out about ten minutes before we arrived. It took her about ten more minutes to take our order. We sat in the dark, but used my friend's cell phone to light up the menus. I ordered a Western Burger with french fries for $18. My friend bought me lunch since he had lost a March Madness bracket pick to me. The Western burger came with cheddar, bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce. This burger came stacked high with crispy bacon and thick onion rings. They had crispy fries and the meal filled me up and tasted very good. We probably waited thirty minutes for our food and ate it in the dark. I would say my burger was 8/10 and fries were 9/10. The service quite slow and the darkness uncontrolled by the staff. They powered through and probably cooked our burger on a gas stove.
