Can't complain about receiving tasty food with prompt service at reasonable prices. We started with chips with salsa and guacamole. The chips were crispy with just the right amount of salt. The salsa was medium to hot spice wise and tasty. The guacamole was fresh and excellent. The entrees were seasoned well and the ingredients were cooked just right. Unfortunately our bottle of red wine was disappointing. We should have order beer. Service exceptionally fast! Overall, a 4-5 star experience rounded up.

Very very yummy food. We went on a recommendation from a local vendor, and we are so glad we asked! The chili is delicious, the pozole is too yummy. My fav was how they fried the chili rellano, fantastic! The blue corn tortillas they use in their cooking are super flavorful. Had a margarita and it was also tasty. Be prepared to wait a bit , but they have a nice waiting area w/ shade and a water dispenser. Would come back here often if i lived in the area, excellent New Mexican restaurant

Great and amazing staff! The food was served very quickly and was incredible. The Los Cabo's Vino margarita was perfect with the Los Colores plate. It's hard for me to imagine anyone being disappointed with this place.

After reading about this place, I was excited to get here. The outside is a little rustic, but that adds to its charm. There was a line formed at 5 PM when it opened. We were seated fairly quickly and ordered the house made Tri-colored chips and the house salsa. Both delicious. For entrees we got the Blue corn enchiladas and Los Colores. They were delicious. Each came with sides of brown pinto beans and pozole. They were just as good as the main dishes. A can't miss in Taos.

There's no denying that Orlando's is a popular go-to for both locals and tourists. There was a long line waiting to be seated as the restaurant opened for the evening, and the host did a nice job of maintaining a smooth flow. Service was good, out on the packed patio, and it's an inviting place to relax. The food is a bit average -- no exceptional dishes, the night we dined there -- and it doesn't do justice to northern New Mexico's distinct flavor profiles, despite its claim of having recipes passed down through generations. Still, it's a fun place for a hearty meal on the northern outskirts of Taos.

I have been going here for 20+ years and it never disappoints! I love that they serve posole in place of rice. The food is so flavorful and the staff is always friendly. My only (and mean my only) negative comment is that they don't have sopapillas. There's nothing like finishing off a True New Mexican meal like having warm sopapillas and delicious real honey. (I would not mind seeing a real margarita on the menu too.)

Finally we figured it had been put on the wrong side of the Main Street so we went the other way and ended up hungry and ready for a drink and dinner. The only negative is that I couldn't get a margarita other than the wine margaritas they have. Since there is a sweet and sour mix in them I went for a white wine instead and it was perfect for the day. We ordered our drinks and chips and guacamole to get started while we looked at the menu. Our server was super and we sat on the patio in the shade which was lovely. There was plenty of shade for the hot day. To stave off our hunger while we looked at the menu we ordered the chips and salsa with guacamole. The salsa was fabulous as was the rest but I had to comment on the salsa because so often these days it's just too tomato-y or bland. This was flavorful and had a bit of spice. For dinner, we ordered the steak tampiquena and I would get it again. Savory, perfectly cooked and hearty. Check this place out if you are visiting!

Our server always kept a distance we are aren't used to when being served and it seemed as though she wanted to drop things off with arms stretched as far as possible and in fact she didn't pour the bottle of wine we ended up with. I appreciated her recommendations and especially when I asked about the wine she recommended a different one than the one we first suggested. She was right! We ended up getting a delicious Koyle Cabernet. We ordered the duck and the lamb. The duck was 10/10 amazing! The lamb was cooked medium well for some reason as we were not asked and assumed it would be medium rare. Don't assume they say! It was dry and fatty. Seems strange I know but there you go. But definitely try the duck!!

Our server, Chaniece, absolutely made the experience. I told her I wanted to order some of the most authentic Spanish dishes on the menu, and she came through perfectly. She was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed excited to help us experience the restaurant. If you have questions about the menu, ask for her recommendations--you won't be disappointed. My partner ordered Martin's Breakfast Burrito, and I had the huevos rancheros. Both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. Michael's Kitchen is only open Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., so plan accordingly. We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and had about a 30 minute wait. It was busy, but the wait was actually enjoyable because the restaurant has several little nooks filled with antiques and artwork by local artists. There was plenty to look at, and the time passed quickly. Taos has many wonderful mom and pop restaurants, but from what I learned during our visit, there are fewer locally owned restaurants serving traditional Spanish cuisine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try all of them, but I'm very happy we chose Michael's Kitchen. Between the authentic food the welcoming atmosphere and Chaniece's outstanding service, it was one of the highlights of our visit to Taos.
