Had a fabulous time celebrating Taylor Swift at this Alexandria spot. It gets crowded - plan to have to wait a bit outside. Seating is first come, first serve and you just seat yourself. There is a food menu that has some tasty items. The staff are friendly, albeit not exactly attentive. But, to be fair, again, it gets super crowded. The Taylor theme was awesomely done. It was neat to walk around and look at everything. And such a fun environment with so many fellow Swifties! The cocktail menu was full of tasty (and themed) drinks. There's also mocktails too. We had a great visit to the holiday themed pop up bar. We arrived at 2pm the Sunday after Christmas and got right in. The prices were more reasonable than most other pop up bars, service was fine, and all the food and drinks were good! It's not a huge place so don't go with a group larger than 4 people. 'My' bartender never acknowledged my existence. After being seated for practically 20 minutes, another bartender finally took my order. Spicy Tequila Problems - a watered down margarita for $17. Fun. Redneck Heartbreak - now, im a fan of strong drinks. That being said, I can tell if any of the other listed ingredients was added besides the Bourbon. I'm happy I, at least, checked it out. They're connected to the BBQ spot next door and change out the decor seasonally. This review is for the holiday theme, "Joy on the Avenue." We sat at the bar and admired the festive decor. We went to the Halloween pop up bar on a Saturday evening. We went before the rush (5pm) and I'm surprised they don't take reservations. The decor was spooky scary and the vibe was eerie and creepy crawley. The food was decent. We tried the Bloody Potato skins. It was super cute and had edible eyes! Came for the TS pop up bar after I saw some videos on instagram. First, the decor and ambiance definitely took some effort - shoutout to the designers. The walls had sections for each era and a ton of photo opportunities. That was probably the best part of the experience. To be honest, it felt like they created the room for photos and then were like "oh, we should serve food and drinks too" because the food and drinks were not that good and the menu had several typos. I tried to order the fry sampler at about 3:15pm (an hour after opening) and they were somehow already out of it...how are you out of fries after one hour? So I got the chips and queso instead. It seemed like they threw half a bag of doritos on a plate and heated up some Tostitos brand queso. It was fine, but nothing special. That was the cheapest food option at about $6, everything else was at least $12 and appeared to be about the same quality. For a drink, I got the mule - it was decent but heavy on the ginger beer. As someone who orders Moscow mule variants fairly often, I wasn't super impressed - especially at the $18 price point. I got a souvenir cup with it, but for $18 that still wasn't worth it. I tried the "Romeo and julep" that my friend ordered and it was surprisingly strong, so that might be better value. It seems like this is the first weekend of this being open, so I don't want to be too hard on the staff, but they clearly weren't prepared for the sort of crowd that Taylor-themed things draw. We got there about 10 mins before opening and got in about 20 minutes after opening. However, they let us in as "standing room" despite there not being actual standing room in the establishment. We were in the way of every server and bartender, so I honestly wish they waited to let us in until a table was ready. We eventually sat down when some people left, but it was just a strange experience to be let in as standing room when there wasn't really space for it. We also were the first people let in as standing room for the day (they previously only let people in when there were tables), so the servers didn't seem to know what to do with us. It may be too late, but I'd suggest allowing/requiring reservations or selling some sort of ticket instead of being first come first serve. I think people would pay for a $5-10 ticket to have a more pleasant/relaxing experience, or you could even make the tickets more expensive but have them come with your first cocktail. This would ease the line and make people feel more relaxed and less crowded out in the establishment. read more

This was such a fun experience to keep the eras tour alive! We went on a warm Saturday afternoon and waited in line about an hour. They sell drinks outside in line and there is a bbq place for food right next door. Was disappointed to hear that people were sneaking in through the shared bathroom with the bbq place and skipping the line. Once inside it was crowded and few places to sit. The drinks themselves were so good and well thought out. I wish the music was a little louder and at some point they stopped playing Taylor Swift songs. Really cute space for all the Swifties to gather. They have the Eras tour on tv, Taylor's music playing in the background, posters on the walls, and themed drinks. The cocktails are about $16 each so definitely on the pricier side but they were good. The food was decent. I would skip the hummus but the chicken nachos were tasty. They had a bbq vibe to them. We got there right when it opened so had no trouble getting a table. They limit you to two hours to keep things moving. I don't think I would go back but worth checking out once. read more

Seating is very minimal and there really is no process. Since the space is small, you basically stand and wait for someone to leave, but there's no hostess directing people and keeping tabs on who came when. To be honest, if they had that one simple change with a hostess and an actual line, this would have made a huge difference in my experience, otherwise it made for some awkward encounters. Our party of 3 sat at the bar but service was extremely slow, due to how busy it was. The pomegranate margarita was pretty good and the soup and grilled cheese were decent. If you manage your expectations, come at a less busy time (perhaps on a weeknight that isn't right before Christmas ) I think it would be an enjoyable experience! read more

A holiday pop up bar in Alexandria - YES PLEASE! I feel silly that I'm so late to discovering this gem in Del Ray, but shoutout to Instagram for the introduction! I stopped in on Wednesday October 30th (the day before Halloween) and was greeted with the coolest spooky and unique decor (I loved the rice crispy treats posing as ground meat LOl), tons of costumes, and a bar menu with plenty of festive drinks! We arrived soon after opening and were able to get a seat at the bar, but within the hour the place was packed with no more seats available. Sadly the bar was missing the light up props for some of the drinks, so I opted for the ones that could be completed as planned ha. They were perfect and not a just sugar in a cup as many themed drinks often are! We opted for ones with dry ice and floating teeth and wound up getting seconds because they were indeed that good! We had a few of the themed cocktails and they were delicious and worth the price for sure! We also purchased the hummus and it was paired very nicely with fresh veggies and bread. This place is so fun! The decor is killing it for Halloween, the drinks were delicious, and the food was also delicious! We were surprised by the food because we've been to some pop up Halloween bars that are more party and atmosphere and the drinks are not great and the food sucks and is non-existent so this place was a very happy surprise! We had a couple of very fun jump scares, a wonderful Halloween themed dinner and drinks, and then walked around the great vibin' neighborhood. We really do enjoy this place! We've been for a few versions, and we always have very creative and entertaining drinks, the place is decked out to the nines, and the bar staff is attentive and friendly. We were recently there for their Holiday Pop-Up and we enjoyed the Hansel & Gretel, a Rudolph 75, and Cousin Eddy's eggnog (in a moose mug!). I live in Del Ray and have enjoyed the different pop up bar iterations, and was excited to check out the new Taylor Swift version with friends. Was less excited when we got there to find that literally half of the bar was filled with small children running around. Literally EVERYWHERE else in Del Ray is kid friendly...can an actual bar not be for adults only? Decor is cute, drinks were ok, but go only if you want the ambiance of a play date, but with alcohol. read more
