My friend and I were looking for a quick bar to slip into around 10-11 PM and stumbled across this spot. It's not too far from the waterfront, so it made for a nice walk after gelato. At first, you'll see what looks like just a pizza shop -- but if you head in and either use the side door or walk through and climb a set of stairs, you'll find the speakeasy upstairs. Very cool vibe: dark, cozy, and date-night ready. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned, and it was definitely the highlight of the night but sweeter than I would have liked. They served it over a stamped solid block of ice (a small detail I ). My friend was abstaining from alcohol that night and asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail. To our surprise, they didn't just hand her a lemonade like most places -- they actually made her a crafted virgin drink, which she loved. Food: 3/5 We ordered fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The fries turned out to be waffle fries (not mentioned on the menu) and were overly crispy, so not really our favorite. The pizza was fine -- clearly sourced from the shop downstairs -- but it leaned oily and didn't really wow us. Service: 5/5 Pretty standard -- nothing over the top, but not neglectful either. Drinks came out reasonably fast, food followed, and we were checked on enough without it feeling pushy. Vibes: 4/5 The speakeasy itself is definitely the selling point. Dark, intimate, and stylish -- you feel like you've found a little hidden spot. All in all, the cocktails are the reason to come, especially if you're into whiskey. The food was forgettable, but it's convenient that you can order pizza upstairs. We spent about $30-40 for drinks and snacks, which isn't shocking for Old Town. Would I go back? Maybe if I was already in the area, but for a dedicated whiskey night, I'd probably head somewhere else.

Pretty cool spot. Only a friend knew it was there. No sign outside to key you in it was there but happy with this spot. Not a large space but just enough for few friends to get together to chill out and enjoy some great drinks and conversation.

Cute speakeasy located upstairs of a pizzeria. Not much seating - first come, first serve. On a Friday night, the place was very busy! We had to wait around for folks to leave before getting some bar seats. The cocktails are unique and tasty. I got the "sin and tonic" and I enjoyed it. I'm not even a gin drinker. Service was good. I would visit again.

If you're looking for a cool speak easy vibe and beautifully curated cocktails in the Old Town area, this is the place. It's got a hidden entrance right off of King or you can enter through the pizza spot down below. The cocktails are strong and delicious. They have a menu that fits anyone's likings and a full bar. They have light fare. I had the chicken tenders that were extra crispy and satisfied my hunger. This would be a great place for date night, nightcap or just a stop along the way. The customer service is pretty good. And while they don't have a ton of seating, there are bar and small table/lounge seating options.

Excellent selection of whiskey and plenty of drink selections. Friendly bartender in the heart of old town.

Sometimes Old Town feels touristy but somehow lacking vibrancy. King's Ransom brings the energy back. Tucked away upstairs this is a cocktail bar that delivers with excellent drinks. In menu of drinks included twists to standard cocktail list such as adding coconut to a bourbon drink. This place can become very crowded and timing can make a difference. Service is supported by several bartenders so you do not need to wait too long. It's a good place to enjoy a drink or two.

I recommend this place for a stop on a night of barhopping. A bartender at another location down the street recommended my group stop by for a Well crafted cocktail. You enter the speakeasy through a pizza place through a stair staircase in the back of the restaurant. I love a speakeasy and the hidden vibe. It's a small spot with a dark modern vibe. The cocktails were very special. I had an old-fashioned with tobacco bitters. That was very unique. We did not stay long, but enjoyed our experience. It is pricey. A bonus is you can order pizza from downstairs and they bring it up.

Super cool place with a great vibe. It's located on the second floor of a historic building and has a lot of ambiance. The cocktails are a little pricey for me (I'm from St. Louis), but they are crafted and were outstanding. I had the Sour, which had shaved chocolate in it; it was divine. Who would have thought that a hint of chocolate in a whisky sour could be so good?! The bartender was so sweet and friendly. We truly enjoyed stopping in to get a pre-dinner cocktail and would visit again when we're in town.

Great ambiance and big speak easy feel while also feeling accessible. Drinks were great for a night out

A very cool spot to grab a drink. On the pricier side, but the drinks and ambiance are great. Our bartender was very friendly, and offered to make her own twist on a whiskey sour with Mezcal - this was excellent. Would highly recommend! There's a lot of cool touches to the place - their logo on the window of the second floor above the pizza place is essentially the only clue aside from reading online how to get in. They also have their own emblems on their rocks!

Great speak easy, fun little bar up a set of stairs and in back of a pizza place. Cocktails were great and very unusual. There was one drink that they bring out and smoke the top at the table. Overall a little pricey on drinks, but great experience. Staff was attentive and took orders at the table. My favorite was the highball. Looks almost like a large glass of water, but is perfect amount of alcohol.

My wife and I arrived around 1:20 p.m. on a Thursday. The lunch crowd was still going strong, which only reinforced that we had picked a popular spot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. When we walked in, there was no hostess to be found. After waiting about four minutes, she finally appeared and offered us a choice between a small table in the corner or one by the bar. Given how busy the restaurant was, we took the table by the bar. About seven minutes later, someone finally came by to offer us water and explained that our server was busy, but she would help us in the meantime. No problem. We ordered the Avo Goddess Salad and asked that it be split so we could share it. A few minutes later, our server arrived, introduced herself, and we let her know we had already ordered the salad and were ready to place our lunch orders. She was very helpful in guiding my wife toward the Old Bay Shrimp Burger. I was excited to order the Shrimp and Grits until I learned it contained Andouille sausage and, according to our server, couldn't be prepared without it. Since the restaurant highlights that everything is made from scratch, that surprised me. I ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna Salad instead. So far, so good. Then came the frustration. We spent the next 20 minutes slowly picking at our salad, growing increasingly hungry and confused. You know something is wrong when guests who were seated after you begin receiving their meals before you. Finally, at 2:10 p.m., our food arrived: my Ahi Tuna Salad and a Pulled Lamb Sandwich for my wife. Except my wife had ordered the Shrimp Burger. When we pointed out the mistake to what was now our third server, she quickly assured us it would be corrected. A few minutes later, our original server returned and took full responsibility. She explained that the lamb and shrimp items are next to each other in the POS system and she accidentally selected the wrong item. She assured us the Shrimp Burger would be out in two minutes and suggested we enjoy the fries that came with the lamb sandwich while we waited. Unfortunately, another ten minutes passed before the burger finally arrived. Here's where things became truly disappointing: the top bun was still cold--almost frozen. My wife ended up removing it entirely and eating the sandwich with just the bottom bun. At best, the Shrimp Burger was decent, but certainly not worth the wait and frustration. As for my Ahi Tuna Salad, it felt like something I could easily make at home, especially considering the $25 price tag. I'm also not entirely convinced the tuna was particularly fresh. I can't bring myself to give Matt and Tony's one star because the atmosphere is genuinely cool and inviting. So I settled on two stars--mostly for how I felt before the experience unraveled. And listen, I get it. Mistakes happen. We're all human. But as someone who eats out frequently, here's one piece of advice: when a restaurant makes a significant mistake with a customer's order, consider taking that item off the bill. Sometimes that gesture is the only reason a guest decides to come back.
