How did I not find this place sooner?! [[HIGHLIGHT]]From brunch to dinner, the Light Horse does everything in a perfectly cozy neighborhood way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In one week, I came here three times because it's really just THAT good. On my first visit, a friend and I sat at the bar and enjoyed specialty cocktails and dinner. On my second trip for weekend brunch, two couples enjoyed cocktails, baked brie with pecans and cranberries, and delicious breakfast favorites. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And on the most recent visit, my girlfriends and I checked out the upstairs, which is huge and warm, perfect for enjoying truffle-fry appetizers and dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Did I mention that the service here is great? Between Cassie, who's literally working both upstairs and downstairs, to Justin who's single-handedly juggling the brunch crowd as host, bartender, and server, everyone is working their tushies off. Can't say enough good things about this place. Oh, and military discount Mondays?? Say no more. Apparently, they also host karaoke nights, so I'll definitely be a regular going into 2026.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot in old town Alexandria![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A friend and I visited during restaurant week. It was a nice day, so we sat outside. I sipped on my sparkling rose as I enjoyed the nice views of king street. My friend ended up ordering from the regular menu but I wanted to take advantage of the restaurant week full course option! The 3-course meal came with an appetizer, main entree, and dessert. For my appetizer I ordered the Cajun crab dip, which was good! It was very creamy, but I can't say it's distinct from other crab dips. For my entree I ordered the rigatoni pasta. I guess I was just in a creamy mode that day, but I loved the shrimp and chicken inside. It definitely added more flavor to the dish. And of course I went with the cheesecake for my dessert. It was very good, but again, not really distinct from any NY style cheesecake. We had a great waiter; she was very friendly. Service was good overall!

Great food and excellent service! Everything we ordered was flavorful and came out quickly, and the staff was friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only downside is that street parking can be quite challenging on weekends, so give yourself a little extra time if you're driving. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

We stopped by on a Friday night and had a great time! I think our bartender was Chris, and he was really great! I didn't have any particular drinks in mind that I wanted, so the great bartender that he is, he asked me a couple questions and made me a drink that he thought I might like! He was right; I did enjoy my drink! A friend and I also ordered sweet potato fries to share; this was absolutely the move! The drinks and the snacks are fire! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes were quite chill![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were actually quite vigilant about spotting red flag behaviors without feeling so overbearing; I really appreciated that, especially as the night went on and patrons are drinking more and more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are two floors where you can hang out. The upstairs has a handful of games with live entertainment and a bar. The downstairs is a bit more chill, and that's where we were pretty much the whole night. It was more our vibe for that night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We definitely enjoyed our time!

Excellent food and service in a great section of Old Town Alexandria. Tuesday night prime rib special for $20 is unbeatable!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A nice restaurant and bar that sometimes have karaoke upstairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also do themes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bar service was great and the food was fantastic. That banana old fashioned was amazing.

The Prime Rib is awesome on Tuesdays! Monday is Military and Karaoke. We had the fish and chips over cooked a LOT, but the fries were good! The service is hit and miss, but don't be in a hurry... [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's a great place to people watch and relax and enjoy life and good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The Light Horse has the best cocktails on King Street. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I recommend getting there early on a Saturday evening (7 or 8) because there is a live band and you gotta see the band up close![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was super fast even though it was very busy. Shoutout to Reyan, Chris and John downstairs.

I really loved stopping by here ! I came for trivia night with a party of 6 people total ; they have trivia every Wednesday upstairs. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with jalapeños and tomato added. It came with the option of French fries , sweet potato fries, or a salad. With the option of adding a soup as a side for an additional $2. I opted for the regular fries. When I got my crab cake it was so tasty!! I devoured it IMMEDIATELY because it was 9 pm and I haven't eaten in the last 9 hours lol. Besides the taste, it was certainly 70% filler . But honestly not mad because I paid $20, so, you get what you pay for. It's no jumbo lump crab cake but it's still tasty ! The fries were crispy and delicious. Just wish they added another ketchup for me. I would totally come back because our server was really nice and this place is very historical and cozy looking. Maybe for a date night next time!! Tip: keep in mind that they charge auto gratuity to large parties !

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The first floor bar had cool vibes on a Saturday afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Two big TVs and an extensive drink menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upstairs was closed for a private event but I recall it being on the louder side when it's open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cuban sandwich had a nice kick to it and the bread was super soft. Side salad was bigger than expected. Burger was solid . Bartender was very attentive.

Continues to be my favorite wings. I love that they're smoked then grilled / not fried. They make their own Buffalo sauce and I always ask for extra on the side. Fries are always crispy and fresh. And they made me a fabulous French 75 with tequila. Service is always friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the decorations this spring are SPECTACULAR! Literally a must see insta-worthy set up![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just dinging a star because my blackened salmon wasn't quite blackened and felt too underdone / slightly fishy. Next time I'll ask for it to be well done.

We went to Light Horse for restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised with the food! The stuffed mushrooms were filled with crab and the hush puppies had a yummy sauce on top. My fiancé got the steak which was cooked perfectly. I got the crab cake which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. For dessert, we enjoyed the cheesecake and crème brulee. Our wait to get a table on a Friday evening was quite long but the front desk kept giving us updates which we appreciated.

Had to work a night shift, some my husband came up to old town to have dinner with me, so I randomly chose The Light Horse, it was close to work, so why not give it a shot? Sometimes in life, you have to reevaluate choices. The choice I had to reevaluate, was what the heck took me so long to eat here? [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is amazing, it was really busy 6:30 in the evening, so we chose to sit at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They promptly came to ask what we wanted to drink and gave us menus, literally took me seconds to choose what I wanted, as well as my husband . I ordered The Hamburger it is- Shortrib and Chuck, Cheddar Cheese, Garlic Pickles, Lettuce, Tomato and Red Onion, Served on Brioche Bun. Sweet potato fries on the side -AAAAAmazing. My husband had the Cubano Ham n Pulled Pork w/Mustard, Gruyere, Pickles. With fries. He loved it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have like three different floors TV on each floor. It's a real chill fun place to have dinner next.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We're gonna try lunch. I'm sure it's just as amazing as well... And let us not forget happy hour from 3 to 6 PM

Where is the best place to park on a Saturday night?

You could part anywhere on the street and take the free local buss. They come almost every ten minutes and you hop on and off.

Are you able to get the happy hour specials throughout the entire downstairs area or do you have to sit at the actual bar?

Hands down probably the best restaurant I have eaten at so far this year…read more Amazing food, friendly service, and a nice ambiance. The place can get quite busy so I would highly recommend making a reservation first. We ordered some cocktails which all tasted amazing, I enjoyed the espresso martini the most. Our table ordered the baked oysters and tuna tartare to start. The oysters were seriously so fricking good, I wanted to order another round! The tuna tarate was refreshing and tasted really good as well. I highly recommend ordering the fish curry or their scallop entree. I also got to have a bite of the chicken & waffles and the steak pasta but I would skip on those. Super excited to come back!!

My wife and I arrived around 1:20 p.m. on a Thursday. The lunch crowd was still going strong, which only reinforced that we had picked a popular spot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. When we walked in, there was no hostess to be found. After waiting about four minutes, she finally appeared and offered us a choice between a small table in the corner or one by the bar. Given how busy the restaurant was, we took the table by the bar. About seven minutes later, someone finally came by to offer us water and explained that our server was busy, but she would help us in the meantime. No problem. We ordered the Avo Goddess Salad and asked that it be split so we could share it. A few minutes later, our server arrived, introduced herself, and we let her know we had already ordered the salad and were ready to place our lunch orders. She was very helpful in guiding my wife toward the Old Bay Shrimp Burger. I was excited to order the Shrimp and Grits until I learned it contained Andouille sausage and, according to our server, couldn't be prepared without it. Since the restaurant highlights that everything is made from scratch, that surprised me. I ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna Salad instead. So far, so good. Then came the frustration. We spent the next 20 minutes slowly picking at our salad, growing increasingly hungry and confused. You know something is wrong when guests who were seated after you begin receiving their meals before you. Finally, at 2:10 p.m., our food arrived: my Ahi Tuna Salad and a Pulled Lamb Sandwich for my wife. Except my wife had ordered the Shrimp Burger. When we pointed out the mistake to what was now our third server, she quickly assured us it would be corrected. A few minutes later, our original server returned and took full responsibility. She explained that the lamb and shrimp items are next to each other in the POS system and she accidentally selected the wrong item. She assured us the Shrimp Burger would be out in two minutes and suggested we enjoy the fries that came with the lamb sandwich while we waited. Unfortunately, another ten minutes passed before the burger finally arrived. Here's where things became truly disappointing: the top bun was still cold--almost frozen. My wife ended up removing it entirely and eating the sandwich with just the bottom bun. At best, the Shrimp Burger was decent, but certainly not worth the wait and frustration. As for my Ahi Tuna Salad, it felt like something I could easily make at home, especially considering the $25 price tag. I'm also not entirely convinced the tuna was particularly fresh. I can't bring myself to give Matt and Tony's one star because the atmosphere is genuinely cool and inviting. So I settled on two stars--mostly for how I felt before the experience unraveled. And listen, I get it. Mistakes happen. We're all human. But as someone who eats out frequently, here's one piece of advice: when a restaurant makes a significant mistake with a customer's order, consider taking that item off the bill. Sometimes that gesture is the only reason a guest decides to come back.

The lack of a fun barcade feels a bit depressing. That's why I love that GameOn is in DC on U St and especially that Continues Arcade in Alexandria exists!!! Continues Arcade is fairly new and it's been a wonderful edition to the suite of bars in the DC Metro region. The owners are active on the business' TikTok page and I enjoy it a lot. You can tell they really enjoy video games. As a former full time reporter that worked at The Verge and IGN it's always refreshing to see business owners so engaged and passionate about gaming and turn that passion into an arcade to celebrate the games of yesteryear. Especially given the ongoing memory shortage that's causing gaming consoles to spike up to unprecedented numbers and no signs of the price of hardware going down. Nevertheless, Continues Arcade offers community gaming fun. With an expansive menu of food and drinks, solid hours, parking nearby, and an 8-10 min walk from the Braddock Rd metro station, this location is ideal for multiple options of travel whether you're driving, rideshare or public transit. I really enjoyed their selection of arcade machines. Space Invaders, Crazy Taxi, Dance Dance Revolution, even the The House of the Dead 2 is on-site!! I like that they are also taking feedback on arcade machines they want customers to look into tracking down with a form to complete and all! Seriously I can't recommend this place enough. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was excellent. I ordered the fried catfish sandwich, which was delicious, though a little challenging to eat without making a mess. Definitely worth it, though. I'd happily return for a similar outing. The only thing to keep in mind is the table time limit. I completely understand why they have it--it helps prevent people from camping at tables--but it does create a bit of "clock anxiety." If you're planning to eat and play games, it's probably easier to focus on one and then the other rather than trying to do both at the same time. For appetizers, we ordered the chips and dip, which came with tortilla chips, plantains, mango salsa, guacamole, and dip. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. My only complaint is that the portions felt a little small for the price. We also ordered the spinach dip, and it was outstanding! It arrived piping hot in a cast-iron skillet and stayed hot the entire time we were eating it--a huge plus because spinach dip usually cools off quickly. The toasted, buttered bread that came with it was fresh and plentiful. Again, I just wish there had been a little more dip in the skillet. For our entrées, I had the Mojo Chicken, and my husband had the Grilled Chicken Alfredo. Both dishes were served hot, came out quickly, and were absolutely delicious. Birria Racos to go. Now let's talk about the drinks... Pineapple Mojito: 20/10! One of the best I've ever had. Limoncello Martini: 10/10!
