[Dr. Star was AMAZING! HIs PAs were always wonderful too!] My son came back from college in Chicago, needed help with a sickness and to get some medical records- The man who answered the phone was great, compassionate, thorough and helpful. The woman who called us back was nasty. She was NOT the doctor or PA- she called us back to say only my sick son could talk to them, that he needed an adult doctor and would not tell us the doctor he saw for his heart before. My son tried, sickly to ask all the questions he didn't really understand. I tried to ask through him since I have a medical background, but a feverish sick person can't easily relay questions. She was so horrible, she wouldn't help in any fashion. Her tone was clipped and intentionally sharp/mean-We needed guidance, and she told us to start from scratch though he is allowed to go to a pediatrician until 21. The man who answered the phone was great, this woman called us back and was not nice or compassionate at any moment. She must be the one they use to call with bad news.

My daughter hurt her wrist enough to need a splint. Her insurance unfortunately all of a sudden required a referral for an orthopedic. I called Arundel Peds to get them to fax one. They wouldn't because she was considered "a new patient" because she hadn't been in a few years. My daughter was in a lot of pain, and really didn't need to be poked at. They wouldn't fax a referral even though I explained to she was in no condition to be seen. The receptionist have/had no bedside manner! When we took her they insisted she get shots in both arms (including the sore arm) really??? (Her dad took her or id off insisted to wait) Then when she saw the doctor we were told that a well visit was not even needed. So put my kid through more unnecessary misery instead of faxing a referral. We will be changing insurances and going elsewhere!

I was on bed rest and and couldn't attend, however, my husband and mother loved it upon first site! This office is very colorful and extremely welcoming to new patient and families!! My daughter has been a patient since 2009. They came to the hospital when she was first born and were very knowledgeable about the process! My daughter was a patient of Dr. Jobes, who left this practice! We simply adored her and were sad that she was leaving! However, we had to choose another primary in the office and were pleased to with all of the options present! All of the docs and nurses are very knowledgeable and are very good with children and babies! My daughter is not afraid at all to come to the office for a visit! Even for shots, they are quick and get em done! We totally adored the young lady Vanessa who assisted in our daughter's appointments prior to her turning 3! She cared very much for our little one which made it very easy to come back and feel good about the practice! The office is very colorful with a sick room and a well room to keep the children separate if they are ill! There are televisions that have are on children programs to entertain the children while they wait! There are books and toys as well! I simply love this office! I pass many offices to go to this one! A choice I do not regret!

No joke, an insurance approval that supposedly takes 2 days, has taken OVER-A-FU**ING-MONTH! Only because I have had to call, email, and threaten to choose a different provider to get any form of communication between the office, insurance and myself. Apparently, they can never get in touch with each other. But, kinda interesting how I can make a ONE simple phone call and facilitate a 3-way call instantly. Unbelievable! UNACCEPTABLE! and EXTREMELY disappointing! So here's to you "World Renound John's Hopkins"......

I am a former R.N. I have worked with good caring doctors. JHCP does not foster good care. Just the opposite - you will not get care that you need. Most recently, they no longer do blood work in their offices because they are too busy. There is no respect for individuals. It all seems to be CYI (cover your ass) approach. They are horrible. If you are vulnerable, old, or special needs, you will not improve or get the care you need, in my experience. My location is Downtown Bethesda. I have a neighbor who was unhappy with his assigned doc. There have been very dissatisfied reviews of the doctor I am assigned to. There are too many instances of neglect and a system that just doesn't care. This does not reflect on the nurses and doctors at their flagship hospital in Baltimore, which is rated very highly. This is a bad review of the Community Physicians.

Main Street recently sent a message stating that both of my children are due for their annual appointments and I needed to call to schedule them. When I called, I was informed that Dr. Mark does not have any availability until June. I was prepared to schedule an appointment with another doctor, but then I was told that I cannot change doctors without Dr. Mark's approval, even though other doctors have open availability. I am confused and frustrated by this policy. If Dr. Mark is unavailable to see my children, and other doctors are available, what is the issue? Why does one doctor have the power to determine who gets to see my daughter?

It's very cold. I can tell our doctor doesn't remember us every time we come. Some people on the front desk staff are impolite and sometimes downright rude. They hired two new front desk ladies who are wonderful though. But even the front desk staff look miserable when they're working. It takes a long time for someone to answer the phone. The nurse that helps out our doctor has a pretty poor bedside manner and has messed up our child's blood pricks several times, causing him more pain than required. Our doctor is okay but she just types on her computer all of our answers to questions and doesn't give us much feedback other than 'you're doing great'. I don't want to say names because we still go there for now and they are okay at their jobs, but if I did it again, I would go elsewhere. We get an icky feeling every time we have to come here. Also the parking sucks.
