My husband went through the drive thru to order food for our family of 5. He asked for two #4's which is a burger combo. The drive thru employee must have misheard him and gave home two #2's. (Burritos) We discovered the mistake when my husband returned home. I wouldn't have minded the mistake except for a few things. #1 when I returned to have the order fixed the cashier held her hand up and told me it would be a few moments - because she was taking an order for an employee who was standing behind the counter. #2. When the cashier finally made time to address my issue, she handed it off to her manager, who I didn't actually see, but heard his annoyance at having to deal with a mistake. #3. Although I walked in with a paper receipt with the time and date stamped on it they insisted on going through the computer to find my receipt. At this point, between the 10 minute drive to the store, waiting for assistance while an employee placed their order, and then waiting while the manager poured through receipts on the computer, it had been about 40 minutes since my husband had returned home...and my kids were still hungry. I got frustrated and decided to tell them to forget it and went next door to Jack n the Box to purchase a couple burgers. Once I finally got home, there was maybe half a slice of avacado on my now cold carne asada street taco. My cold Del Taco also had about 5 pieces of lettuce on it and then 4 inches of cheese. Definelty not worth 40$. We will not be returning anytime soon. read more

This is a review only of the Pollo Asado "bowl" with avocado and their drive through. The good: The 3 slices of avocado seemed fresh and nice. $4.99 for a bowl (if quality food) seems like a fair price. The person serving me was nice. The bad: The rice was terrible, the chicken and the rest was mediocre. I'll never order their bowl again. The drive through took much longer than at any other drive through restaurant (they are still new so they may improve). Except for them having their drive through service and quite a selection that for some may be appealing, after this experience right now I can't see why anyone would eat here as in Chico we have some great Mexican restaurants. I will give them one more try in maybe 3-6 months (when I don't want to get out my car to pick up food) and if my experience is better I will update my review. Until then .... I suggest you get your Mexican food at one of the many local Chico restaurants. read more

The food was pretty good considering this is Americanized Mexican fast food. I enjoyed the fish tacos, and I also tried the Carne Asada fries. Service was friendly and fast. Didn't wait long for my food. Definitely better than Taco Bell. Me and my family will be visiting again! read more

I used to love our Del Taco but it's gone downhill. Today I went through the drive-thru and had to sit at the window and wait for the manager to demonstrate how to do a manager discount to an employee. This took about 5min. During this time my bag of food sat on the counter. An employee tried to give it to me and she told them to wait. By the time I got my food there were 4 customer bags waiting for others and my food was cold. She needs to find another job outside of food service. I will never return! 5-2-2023 As much as I seemed to complain, we discovered our favorite item at Del Taco: Crunchy Chicken Taco. Their beef no, chicken yes. Besides the affordability we have concluded this choice is best. Here's the joke: each time, three times so far, we order these we pay for the regular version called the Del Taco, and usually pay on the app. Usually 9, but to our surprise they always give us the Snack size, which is approximately half the size. No lie, and always through the drive thru. Don't want to antagonize the connection, as everyone knows you get on their wrong side, most eating places, is not a smart move. So to solve this problem we simply have decided to only get the Snack size, and perhaps we start getting the larger sibling, who am I kidding? The problem with the midgets is one gets less chicken, but more stupid is to repeatedly pay for the larger and keep getting their mini version. Del Taco, Chico CA. I have always loved Del Taco and when on the road have stopped at other outlets. This morning I visit our local Del Taco and quickly decided to never return. One, obnoxiously loud rap & hip hop music played on the in store sound system. Two, my breakfast burrito including a tortilla that resembled cardboard. Overcooked and stiff. The food is ok but the place seems unkept at times. Trash not dumped. Trash left in the eatingbooth areas and on the floor. Bathrooms are dirty, too. People using them for bathing. Seems to be a lot of street people hanging out. This leads me to believe their hygeine standards are in need of improvement. The manager seems stressed and rude to her empolyeees at times and customers, too. The place is in need of a restart IMO. The place seems to have gone downhill since it opened up. Food is as good as it has always been. I have not had Del Taco in 10 years but the food is still awesome. I forgot how much I missed those perfectly salty crinkle fries and tasty cheese burgers. Now that's one tasty burger. The drive-thru set up is horrible and even before lunch hour at 11am 6 cars just 6 cars have the drive thru backed up into the parking lot. Whomever planned this layout really did a bad job. It seemed like each car sat at the order box for 5 minutes and it took me 30 minutes to get through the line. The prices are amazing though. $6.35 for a double cheese burger and large fries. That would have been almost $10 at Burger King. I know they are new so I hope they work the speed issues out quickly. Every now and then I crave Dell Taco. Then I go there and wait a rediculous amount of time to get my food. Nearly 30 minutes - inside no less! It already takes them Forever to get these orders around because they only pay attention to the drive through instead of focusing on Dine-In as well. They offered us free cookies - Are You Kidding Me?! Cough up a real apology - show me that you're sorry offer something more than the just the least expensive item on the menu. Went in for the first time yesterday. Great chicken tacos in the #5 combo and loved getting both my cravings met with both tacos and French fries! Didn't get senior discount at first but thanks to so.e other seniors who championed my cause, I finally got management involved who gave me the discount! Had a really bad experience this morning at this del taco. They were really overwhelmed with not very busy restaurant, service was really bad with multiple mess ups. I don't normally think those things are a big enough deal to write a bad review, but what was most upsetting was how the manager yelled and cussed out the employees multiple times including dropping the f-bomb more than once. I'm used to the Del Tacos that actually put some meat in their food. I really got ripped off here. I ordered 6 Dell chicken classic burritos. 2 for $5 x 3. What I got were not even one inch thick and that is the God's truth. I showed my boyfriend and he just shook his head. I tried to have them replaced later but they are very rude if you don't have a receipt and I one of those car people that doesn't keep them as I throw all my trash out. You don't expect to have to keep all your receipts every time you go to a window so when I drive through the parking lot I just toss all that stuff before I leave it. It really screwed me out of my six burritos I'd love to have them replace those with the tiniest little things I'm into these things he spent a dollar on all six and they really ripped me off oh and there was no cheese in them at all!
