FORGET the old reviews, under the new owners this is a quiet gem tucked away in an unlikely spot - next to a storage rental place, but that is a plus - it is off the busy road and nice and quiet. The Arlington is beautiful. Unlike similarly-priced hotels like the Hilton Express (and the super-crappy LaQuinta) in Marysville, this a luxurious, gorgeous hotel, with dark wood paneling and brass fittings, a beautiful entry in the middle of two water feature coy ponds, a relaxing and well-decorated lounge, and really good management, under General Manager, Lema. Use your GPS to find the turn - if you pass a storage unit business you just missed it. It is part of a larger building with offices first, keep going about 50 feet and you will be in the drop off area. We good a King bed corner room, and the first thing that made me happy -well, the second, because the first was true concierge check-in by Lema) were the TWO marble-topped vanities, both with hair dryers! One in the room, and one in the roomy bathroom. Well lit, and no fighting for a mirror when you are getting ready to go to an event, like a concert at Tulalip. (BTW there is a shuttle to the casino and back, up to 2 a.m.) The squeaky-clean room had all the amenities - A modern Visio TV screen, an upholstered chair to relax in with a standing linen lamp to read and relax by, a desk (marble top) and a dresser (I hate not having a dresser, even for an overnight stay) a mini fridge and easy to use coffee maker/water heater. The creamy taupe shades made a lovely ambient light, the bed was comfy, with plenty of pillows and extra bedding in a drawer; closet had a double mirror, ironing board and iron, and the hotel soaps were nice. Everything in the room worked. Plenty of water pressure, the switches and plug-ins, the remote, and heating and cooling. That seems like it should be a given, but so many badly run hotels do so poorly checking these things. I should note that we did not have a reservation, so they didn't check it last-minute, it was ready. I DO recommend reservations though, this sweetheart hotel won't be a secret long. The pool was open and clean, with a whirlpool next to it. Not huge, but not crowded with clean dressing rooms and towels. I went down in the morning and splashed around with some kids that were there with their folks, which was fun. The exercise room was not elaborate, but again clean and the machines worked. The breakfast fare was pretty standard but plenty of choices - coffee, tea, pastrys, fruit, four kinds of cereal, yogurt... The hot breakfast offered scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage -all well cooked and warm little pancakes and syrup...I don't remember everything except that the woman running it was as nice and accomodating as she could be, and kept things stocked. If you are going to Marysville and want a way nicer than standard cookie cutter hotel experience, this is the place. Note: Don't mix it up with the Arlington Motel, and you might find old reviews under Wyndam Gardens. Ignore those. But don't tell everybody - you will want a room available if you decide on a last minute night out at the Casino. BTW the restaurant is not open, and probably won't be, which is fine. It is hard to keep a restaurant going, but you may see old reviews that talk about it. It helps keep the rooms affordable.

She offered lots of items for free that couples usually have to pay to rent or buy. Everything was all listed on her website so even those of us in other states could peruse. The location is so beautiful and the premises really felt quaint and homey, not formal and stuffy like some venues. And then there were things that no other venue offered, like the boat on the lake for some fantastic photos! I think the bonus was that it was probably the least expensive place they looked at. Deedee's not in it to make bank; she does it because she has a beautiful place that she wants others to enjoy on their special day. I am deeply disturbed by my experience at Red Curtain's youth summer production of Bat Boy…read more This was a Summer Stars production performed by students ages 10 to 18. During the show, children portrayed a scene involving rape and domestic violence. I had not been warned that this specific content would appear. As a survivor, I could not physically remain in the theater and had to leave. Red Curtain's advertising described the production as PG-13 and warned of "mature themes, blood, and gore." The Summer Stars page referred to "sexual references, implied drug use, mild profanity and adult situations." None of those phrases tells a patron that the production depicts rape, sexual assault, or domestic violence. There is an enormous difference between objecting to challenging art and asking for an honest content warning. I was not demanding that the theater remove the material. I was saying that survivors and parents deserved to know what they and their children would encounter before purchasing tickets and entering the theater. When my husband raised this concern directly with the director, Scott Randall. He told him that "mature material" does not ordinarily communicate rape or domestic violence and that survivors should have been allowed to make an informed decision. Rather than acknowledge the concern or show compassion, he smiled and dismissed him. A specific warning would have required one sentence. Other productions of Bat Boy have explicitly warned audiences about sexual assault, rape, and domestic violence, so the need for such a warning should not have been a surprise. Red Curtain chose vague language instead, then its director treated a survivor's distress as though it were unworthy of serious consideration. That response was cruel, irresponsible, and completely inconsistent with a theater that publicly describes itself as a safe and inclusive community. I will never attend another production at Red Curtain.

I will admit that I considered not hiring a coordinator (weddings are just so expensive & we were looking for anything possible that we could cut out) but if you are on the fence like I was, PLEASE listen to me & hire Emily! She was so much more than a day of coordinator for us & saved us money throughout the process. She gave us recommendations for other vendors during the planning process & those vendors gave us discounts when we mentioned we were referred by her. She also let us use her extensive list of rentals so we didn't have to buy candles, table numbers, seating chart, ect.. We even had a hard time holding our venue to the terms of their contract (due to management change after we signed) & Emily handled all of that stress & communicated for us. She also communicated with all the vendors a couple weeks before the wedding which allowed us to resolve potential problems before they arose on our wedding day. She also was able to bring things to our attention that we just simply would not have thought of (despite hours of researching weddings online in our year engagement). She recommended things she had seen work well in the past & simply warned us about things she has seen go wrong. I probably called her 20 times in the week before the wedding with questions & she was also very responsive and never seemed to mind. But honestly my FAVORITE part of having Emily was waking up on my wedding day & getting to get ready without anxiety & truly enjoying the day with my friends & family because Emily was the one doing all the decorating and set up of our wedding. My parents got to truly enjoyed the day because they weren't working to set everything up and run the wedding. When I first saw our venue all set up & decorated, I was so happy! All the work we had put into planning the wedding had been worthwhile because Emily knew what we wanted and was able to make our vision a reality! She also made sure we were on a schedule and the wedding ran smoothly but I never felt rushed by her. She even carved out a few minutes for my husband & I to be alone after the ceremony. We had an amazing time at our wedding, as did our guests & so much of that was due to Emily. Please do yourself a favor & hire her!

She was extremely unresponsive which was difficult as a bride with nerves and for facilitation of communication between vendors. One of her main selling points was making sure that my family would not be active in set up and organization of ceremony but she consistently strayed from the set up instructions she insisted I create for her use. My family had a hard copy of the same instructions and had to re-orient her to my vision throughout setup multiple times. I later found out that special favors I wanted at a certain location were not set out and thus not taken home by guests and promises were made such as taking my flowers out of water to be dry before the ceremony (which they weren't) and that my cake would be taken out of the fridge so it was defrosted at cutting (it was given to me frozen). Katelynn even insisted that my mom should not bring me and my husband our champagne for toasts, yet she never completed this task and the photographer ended up getting it for us. There were a myriad of things that I could go on, but finally I want to address how she MADE me do a full inventory so she "could return everything to it's proper bin to take home" and as I sit here unpacking things are every which way and she put linens/paper products in with things that had held water and are now moldy and unable to cleaned. I would NEVER recommend Katelynn and Sage Event Co. to anyone I care about getting married and plan to communicate with the venue who has her on their suggested list in turn.
