I bought several kinds of cookies. When I got home, I noticed they were all out of date. All of them were stale..some more than others. I threw away most of them because the taste was really off. The bell peppers were beginning to shrivel the next morning. I did use them; however, they had been picked a long time. The watermelon was very good. The store was clean and staff was nice and said thank you which is important to me because that showed they did appreciate my stopping in. I live about 1 hr. Amazing great and beautiful produce, excellent live garden plants all reasonably priced. Non GMO , clearly tagged as either certified organic and non. Nice baked goods, and Jared preserves, pickled products. Be sure to bring CASH, no other form of payment accepted. Get there early, they open at 9am, we got there at 9:10am and they were already busy. Amazing strawberries at $4.50/Qt, $18/Gallon. Huge heads of various greens, rainbow chard, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes and everything else that's in season. Fresh eggs also available. Made the mistake of getting here late, a lot of the produce was already gone. The produce we did get tasted amazing and was worth the trip out there. One thing to note is that the people running it are very conservative, and would like it if visitors would dress accordingly, no tank tops and short shorts, low cut blouses and all that. Small market for produce and handcrafted items. A bit smaller than I anticipated since I come from an area with a large Amish community. Small tip: dress like you would if you were going to meet your grandmother for a 2 year old's birthday party. The are modest people and we should respect that. Also, do not take pictures. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, it is run by the Mennonite who don't use electricity. Be prepare for the Porto-johns... Just to warn you. Also the parking lot is gravel so make sure to wear good shoes if you have sensitive feet. The location on the other hand has the most amazing view of the mountains and rolling hills. Don't be surprised if you hear galloping of horse, it is truly a wonderful site to see. I love watching there community help one another garden and harvest. It's a very peaceful atmosphere. The produce section is a very open aired rustic yet very clean and well organized. They have preserves and jams that I love. I stock up on there strawberry jam during the winter break when they close for the season. It is my saddest time of year because I have to ration my strawberry jam, Everything is pick and made fresh, which means it's best to buy what's in season. If you like fresh herbs omg it is simply the best. There thyme is so strong that you can easily dry it yourself for latter use. I love thyme but all there herbs are amazing, Therere fresh veggies are not only in expensive but taste so much better than the grocery store. If it wasn't so far from me I would be there all the time. When corn season is in full effect I have friends come from Atlanta because it's just that good. The variety of Watermelons, other melons, berries and veggies in the summer are the best. They even sell things in bulk so it's good for restaurants as well as people who are in to canning. There baking yumminess is made fresh daily except for Mondays.They have fresh backed bread, cookies and much more. They even have medicinal natural remedies and Garden guides for growing your own produce. The customer service is outstanding and always helpful. They do sell plants that are ready to go in the ground and ridiculously inexpensive prices, I forgot to mention they are extremely affordable. I would suggest going in the morning when they open. While they try to restock selection can become limited on all products by afternoon. It's gets extremely busy during the summer and on Saturdays which is the day they sell live stock. read more

The service is good. The produce is not organic. They use pesticides like everyone else. In 2019 very few were trying to raise produce without sprays but battled with pests. They do not have electricity and are forbidden to use the computer which makes learning how to use more natural methods that are good for the environment almost impossible. The mindset is that they have to use pesticides. The farm market is well laid out with produce, bakery items, and homemade crafts pleasantly displayed. read more

I've lived in or near Chattanooga for many years but I never had been to the Delano Community Farm Market at all. What a refreshing and enjoyable experience. We bought some peach jams, cookies (out of this world delish), some bell peppers and such). Then we took a drive around the farm community where everyone was friendly and waved. Sure, we thought we had stepped back in time or was on some lost episode of "Little Farm on the Prarie" with all of their unique styles of clothing. But all those fences, all the crops, all of everything was completely done by non electric labor. It was really amazing to think how productive and hard working the people are. We will be back again as soon as we can. The location now is on top of one of our annual Fall day trips for the future. Just a good time was had by all. read more

We go every Tuesday in season for bread (delicious sourdough and whole wheat), eggs and whatever is in season for fruits and vegetables. I love all the variety of tomatoes (also delicious). Best lettuce around too. Very efficient and friendly staff as well. read more

Great home grown produce, baked goods, and canned items. The last Saturday of the month they have an animal sale where you can buy chicks, pullets, pigs, goats, etc. I had my chicken coop built by one of the men there. They can take your order for which ever style you like and you can pick it up after they send you a post in the mail notifying you it is ready. ; ) Some good advice if you are going on Saturday... go early!! Every time I go on a Saturday I feel like I'm on that old TV show Super Market Sweep! The cinnamon swirls are always the first to go, they are amazing. read more

I absolutely love there produce. However, the people who frequent the market can be so rude. People line up up at the door before it is open and they will cut in the line. Once the doors are open some people will push and shove as if this is the last produce in the world. This tends to lend a negative experience to such a peacefully market. Grow up people! read more

We absolutely love visiting the Delano Farm Market! They offer a wide variety of in-season produce that they grow themselves. Because they grow on-site and harvest items right before selling, their produce is SO FRESH! I find that it also stays fresh so much longer than grocery store produce items! Ive never seen heads of lettuce as large as they offer! Their baked goods are fresh and delicious! Breads, cinnamon rolls, cookies! Also love their variety of canned items (sauces, pickled veggies, jams, etc). They also have plant and animal sales on certain days. The service is always incredible. So friendly and kind! Their prices are also very reasonable! They request that you do not wear sleeveless shirts out of respect. read more

A friend invited me to go along with her to the Market. I'd never been. Oh My Gosh! I was amazed at all the items they offered! Bought huge tomatoes and had a BLT that night. They were fantastic and I paid only $5 for 6 HUGE tomatoes. And the sweet corn was delicious as well. I plan on going every week now to buy all my produce. It's about a 45-minute drive for me but well worth it for the freshness and much cheaper than stores. And a pretty drive too! Highly recommend! read more
