This review is for the MARINA not for the Restaurant, called the Bait Box, which is co-located on…read morethe property. Shortly before illness de-railed my parents' plans to sail around the world, or at least around New Jersey and Pennsylvania, they bought a sailboat. The previous owner had used Hancock Harbor for winter storage (docked in summers down at Margate), as it's a more protected area and the price is more reasonable. This was inherited by my family, though in our case the boat ended up spending all year at the marina. The location is *seriously* remote. It's surrounded by farms - crops, tree farms, and pastured animal farms. Beautiful, quiet, serene. However, very remote and not a quick drive to/from anywhere. They offer boat storage, boat launch (you can buy a pass either one-time or seasonal) and camping sites suitable for RV or more primitive right along a protected harbor off the Delaware canal. The owner, Scott, is a kind and patient man who has helped us with the boat over the years we've had it, especially at times when he could have been, well, a jerk. If you're going for protected, serene and you don't mind being more challenging to get to, Hancock Harbor would be a good place to store and launch your boat. This is especially true in winter, where ocean-area storing can be much harsher.

One word Disgusting. Two words - Absolutely Horrible…read more Lips and I decided to trek down to the furthest reaches of NJ. When LIPS was a wee lad, he had fond memories of being taken by his dad to this restaurant. His memories was of fond food, nice scenery even though the restaurant was almost like a shack. Well goodbye fond memories! The restaurant has since been remodeled to a modern building. LIPS was dressed, as usual as if we were once again walking the red carpet. Stunning Gucci Penny Loafers, white pants, plus this seasons new Gucci belt, a magnificent black shirt lined in white piping. He was also donning a new LUIS Vutton Bracelet, along with his rock of epic proportions. We both ordered soup. Lips received his clam chowder. It arrived swimming in grease and oil. Inedible! I ordered the Shrimp Bisque. After two teaspoons there were some ingredient which was over-whelming to the palate. I couldn't finish. LIPS received his Clams Casino. I have never experiences Clams Casino made like this. Small clam, some sort of Slice Cheese and a piece of bacon on it. Terrible! My entree came. Fried Oysters. The breading was so thick my jaw hurt from chewing. The sides of a corn fritter, inedible, the "great" home made potato chips, was wet from oil! I left most of it. LIPS's entree of Broiled seafood combo was bland and lacking any sort of seasoning. Certainly poorly prepared. The waitress was some sort of 16 year old who lacked any serving experience. She never inquired why most of our food was left on our plates. Make matters worse, their credit card machine was down. So we asked what would have happened if we didn't have cash? Like the rest of our experience, they shrugged their shoulders! Wouldn't ever eat here again.
