I called him and he started out by yelling at me and told me if I didn't like it then terminate my agreement. In addition, he didn't require the applicant to include everyone living in the house to be on the lease. I changed property management companies and he refused to give the tenant their deposit back. He was also emailing me from one of the email address and it kept coming back invalid when I responded. I was hesitant about working with this company initially but decided to move forward and that was a big mistake.

They increased my rent by $165/mo at renewal, then agreed to increase it to only $40/mo, and after we reached a signed agreement, went back on their agreement tried to bully me into signing a new lease THAT DAY for a $90/month increase. When I said my legal rights under the Landlord Tenant Code allow me 15 days to think about it, they retaliated against me by rescinding their offer to renew my lease at all. I've been a good tenant for THREE YEARS and this is how they've treated me. Do not sign up for the same mistreatment. While I was a tenant, I had to do all of my own repairs as they would not send out people to repair anything in a timely fashion. Once, the light fixture fell out of my ceiling, I reported it, and it took them over a month to put it back in. The fixture was just hanging by wires that whole time - a total fire hazard! I called multiple times but they just said they'd get to it. I've never been treated so poorly in my life; STAY AWAY!

The apartment was clean, spacious, and had up to date appliances. Our balcony off the second bedroom was our favorite part! Any maintenance request was taken care of promptly and management was always kind and understanding. There was the perfect amount of landlord/tenant communication and new policies/procedures were never a surprise. We were sad to leave Bernard Management Group but recommend this company and their living spaces to all who are considering working with them!

When we had problems with our water running in the toilets they would not fix the running water issue throughout the whole building resulting in a $180 water bill. They also did not take any responsibility for this issue when we contacted them about it multiple times. They also got roomates car towed.
