I know he gets people from Long Island coming down here for check-ups, so that should let you know how good he is. I wore bifocal contact lenses, but with most eye doctors, they tell you that you'll have to sacrifice either close-up vision or long distance if you wear bifocal lenses. So that severely limited my ability to wear them all the time. Dr. Newman figured out a way to give me both close-up and long distance vision, and I know I am not the only one he's done this for. He also carries just about every brand of contact lens out there. My wife has to wear a special brand of lenses that no one else carried after her first doctor retired. Dr. Newman carried that brand, of course. If you have contact lens issues, I just can't recommend him strongly enough.

After moving cross-country, I needed to find a new ophthalmologist and Dr. Feldman was recommended by a friend. This was my first visit to Dr. Feldman and he provided one of the most thorough and informative eye exams I have ever had. He was very caring and had a good sense of humor, and most importantly explained things very clearly, using layman's terms and not just medical terminology. I was also impressed that he used an ipad to show me diagrams of the eye and help illustrate things visually! To top it off, the staff at Mercer Eye was also very courteous and professional, my appointment started on time, and the facility was clean. An overall great experience. I will definitely be back.

After seeing multiple people be called before me I went to see what was going on. I was told I never gave my name. I was never asked for my name. A different person was at the welcome desk and she said she couldn't explain why because she wasn't there when I came in. It's a small business so I asked her to go get the other person which she did not do at this point. There were more people waiting and I was not going to leave my name and be on the bottom of the list so I left and went to another provider. I don't know if this was a one time experience, but it was my experience and I won't be returning to this location to buy glasses.

Sure, I've read the bad reviews and everyone as they say is entitled to their opinion but after countless visits I have found them to be nothing but consummate professionals in all aspects of their practice. I suspect a podiatrist can have a bad day but eyesight represents an entirely different level of trust -- it's the difference between a cranky bunion and suddenly being in the market for a guide dog. I've never left their offices thinking that they could have done better. Over the years some of the reception people have been uneven but that's an epidemic across all medical practices where lack of training, low pay, high turnover and corporate consolidation proliferate. She was so unbothered I started looking around for the cameras since I was surely being pranked. There was zero apology let alone an acknowledgment for the wait and in fact I was genuinely asked if I would like to re-schedule my appt for another time. I looked at this person as if she grew a big horn out of her head. Its a shame because Dr Desai is extremely competent with an excellent bedside manner. I looked up some reviews of this practice because its in free fall mode and found out the practice was sold to a private equity company a few years back. Mystery solved. Pure Chaos! Avoid at all cost!
