Wife wasn't feeling well and just wanted a simple Turkey Sandwich. We don't like Greenlawn Deli for a multitude of reasons even though it is closer. We really don't even frequent deli's anymore bc of terrible experiences in the past unless we have too. We now mostly cook breakfast at home... Anyone place was CLEAN and everything looked fresh! They were busy as workers were making to go orders I assume bc I didn't see anyone else standing. An older gentleman took my order and they made my food. I got home and wife was disappointed bc it seemed like they didn't clean the knife and cut it with a knife that had ketchup on it. So I got back in the car and went back. Guy who took my order said that I said to add ketchup. Hey you never know...so close to an egg sandwich order. I believe as long as the human element is attached mistakes will be made as no one is perfect. Small businesses...every dollar counts. Guy apologized took my order and made another Sandwhich. While I was in there a girl came in with her order and I shit you not..."I don't know what I was thinking when I placed my order, can I exchange it and get a Sandwhich". In reality she made this mistake why should they pay? Plus we just had my order...guy took it back...tossed it in the garbage (which he should) and made her what she wanted at no charge. We will be back for a bigger order to reward him for his customer service and good Sandwhich. People complaining about prices...my order was $13.53 and we paid in cash. I'm a contractor and I frequent this deli whenever I'm working close by because the food used to be excellent. I went in there today and ordered two Philly cheesesteak sandwiches that used to be made from real cubes of steak cooked on the grill they charged me three dollars extra to add peppers which they hardly put any on. I got a cup of coffee and a bottle of water along with my order and it came out to close to $40. When I got back to the job and sat down to eat my lunch, I opened the sandwich, and it was made from some really low grade steakum kind of meat. There was hardly any on the sandwich It was mostly bread and the steak had a horrible aftertaste that was so bad I threw most of it away I would never recommend this establishment to anyone, and I most certainly will not be giving them any more of my business! read more

Deli 51 is the absolute worst! I went there and ordered 2 egg sandwiches. I got all the way to Syosset to drop my son off and when we opened them they completely messed up the order. I always loved Deli 51 for a great egg sandwich in the morning. Unfortunately since changing ownership the place has suffered for it. Number 1 reason is absentee ownership. The young staff has no guidance. They're on their phones when they could be cleaning. Salad display cases are covered in fingerprints. Salads are not turned over regularly so they have that crusty surface that makes them very unappealing. Just a shame. High prices are one thing. Cleanliness should be priority 1. read more

They messed up an Uber Eats order and then blamed it on the driver ( as if she made the wrong egg sandwiches) mistakes are understandable but when I then call to say the order was wrong I was hung up on by Kaylee , called back and Put on hold and then hung up on again and called back to ask for manager and Kaylee advised she would not put manager on and hung up again . Never have dealt with any business that made mistake and flat out refuses to even listen to or make good on wrong order . Deli 51 is my family's go to place for egg sandwiches on the weekends. It's always packed with people from the neighborhood yet the line moves quickly. Actually getting your egg sandwich takes some time but it's kind of a masterpiece once you get it so the wait doesn't bother us. They have a good selection of bagels, whole wheat options unless they run out. They also offer gluten free wraps, which are super thin but if you have dietary restrictions it's nice to know they have gluten free alternatives available. The egg sandwiches are reasonably priced around $6 or so per sandwich and they load the toppings on; my go to is three egg whites, spinach, sautéed onion, hash browns, hot sauce and pepper, delicious. They have healthy breakfast options consisting egg whites, vegetables and protein, build your own omelettes, various sandwich options both cold and hot, salads behind the counter, pretty much everything you can expect to find at a deli they have. Their coffee is okay, they have flavored options and regular. Their baked goods are always tempting. You're guaranteed to see someone you know in here, guaranteed to wait a bit of time for a sandwich but also guaranteed to be satisfied once you get home because the sandwiches fill you up and are delicious. Today was my first day here, but my father has ranted and raved about it for quite some time now, as he lives local and frequents there. I was initially pleasantly surprised with the assortment of food in the display case, and all the snacks offered on the shelves. There wasn't a line so I was helped immediately. I ordered my fathers sandwich but didn't know what kind of bread he wanted it served on. The girl helping me was so understanding when I had to call him to confirm with him. Then it was time for me to order, but I was super indecisive. Again the girl was still kind and helpful, offering suggestions, letting me know cold sandwiches could all be made in salads etc. I decided on a sandwich and then after she put it through, I changed my mind. She was so accommodating and they were able to change my order. My father ordered the no.9 - the landscaper, and I ended up getting a egg salad sandwich. The egg salad was so delicious. I was super surprised. Made just the way I like it. And my father enjoyed his sandwich as well which is his regular go too. The deli pickle on the side of the sandwich was a pleasant surprise (for me at least because I love pickles). I also noticed that there was a interesting selection of cheese spreads with some awesome flavors that I'm eager to try, and saw a sign that the cheese spreads come with a bag of their bagel chips (that I believe are homemade - but not certain) . I see a lot of reviews mention a unfriendly staff, but I can say that I most certainly did not experience that at all. And as far as price, I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. Food is fresh and the eggs are real. Egg sandwiches are the best option here. They are superb. Eggs and breakfast items are conveniently sold all day. Everything is made to order. Sandwiches are excellent. Coffee is hot and fresh. Good selection. Varied types of snacks line the racks and shelves. Staff is very friendly. Family owned. They even do Thanksgiving and Christmas orders. They are a bit pricey on most items, but you definitely get what you pay for. Very clean. The employees are constantly maintaining displays and tidying up their stations. They even stay open late. Parking can be tricky but there is an additional lot behind the building. But there is two sides to every story and I did not Want to go to Dunkin donuts to get fake food. I am glad I came. It was busy which means people are coming back for a reason so I didnt mind. My husband just went to get us breakfast. I ordered an egg scramble with cheddar and diced ham and diced onion. The first time they scrambled the eggs and put the ham, onion and cheese on top of the eggs. They didn't remake either of them. My husband still has green peppers in his after saying twice no-green peppers. They didn't pick them all out after the complaint. All they did was pull most of them out. Mine still is not a scramble and still has the large pieces of ham and onions on top and throughout, but not scrambled in. Who wants sautéed onions on their eggs? Disgusting. I just had Deli 51 cater an office breakfast. I can't tell you the wonderful comments that I had from everyone. I ordered Western Omelets, Italian Omelets, Bacon, egg & cheese as well as sausage, egg & cheese Omelets. They were all served with home fries and were cooked perfectly. The service is always friendly and orders perfect as ordered. I go there M - F, sometimes ordering as many as 12 egg sandwiches at a time - always prepared as requested. I have recommended this deli to many people and all have the same wonderful experience. Try it....you will love it!!! read more
