Ordered two egg sandwiches through door dash. I will preface this by saying I know about fees and tip, I know I will be gouged in the end, but.... Ended up being up over $40 dollars for 2 BEC'S and 2 large 1/2 and 1/2's. Whaaaaat? I had 2 strips of bacon on my sammy and my daughter wouldn't eat hers because the bacon was very undercooked (ie: not crispy). I don't drive, but this was her choice. Little background. I grew up in Greenlawn and have always given them our business. Always. My mother wouldn't allow it. Even when we moved to HTon, it was there or nothing. She loved Kyle, and the soups, the whole German family thing. Take home meals for when I was working. She felt at home when she walked in. This place has changed so much. The prices are outrageous. Food quality is awful. I absolutely hate saying this. I grew up IN this deli, drank their coffee at 10 years old, best penn Dutch potato salad on EARTH. What happened? So disappointed. Just ordered a hero on door dash and amazed how good this sandwich is. On DoorDash this business is called delicatessen 51 but i see on Yelp it comes up as greenway. Same establishment but idk if it changed names but they have great egg sandwiches and I will definitely order again. I went with the riverine hero, which was chicken cutlets, mozzarella, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes with mayo on garlic bread and it's amazing. The mayo on it was throwing me off and I would a liked something different but it's very good I must say. All the ingredients are fresh and and the sandwich is very well balanced and great. I will def order from her again in the future and try out a different specialty sandwich. A must try and highly recommend if your looking for a great deli in northport that delivers with sandwiches and breakfast platters. read more

Unfriendly staff. Except for Teresa, who is helpful and makes your order the way you requested it to be made. I don't think the food is anything to write home about. Their soups are blah and I had a few sandwiches that were great and others that didn't taste quite right at all. The cheeses had a strange flavor. I often buy a child size sandwich for my grandmother, who does not eat much. THe cost for a swiss cheese with lettuce child sized sandwich was 7.95. Other delis charge far less when you order a smaller sized sandwich. For the most part, this deli is frequented by me when I am in the neighborhood and am starving. Otherwise, I don't go out of my way to go there. It's getting harder and harder to find a good deli these days. Too bad because they are so needed and loved in LI neighborhoods. read more

I've been coming here for almost 4 years, and its 'a definitely been inconsistent, but I persevered and dealt with the hiccups (they usually did the right thing), however today was the last straw. I had 3 people come in after me, place their order, pay, receive their order and leave before I even got my one egg sandwich. These people play favorites - and they don't care if they piss off other customers. There's no reason, they couldn't put my order slip for one egg sandwich in front of the big Uber eats/grubhub/whatever takeout orders they had. Either they are lacking the appropriate processes, they value these big takeout companies instead of their local clientele, or they're just incompetent. I've ordered from here for few years now and quite a few of the experierience I had there were very disappointing. Their sandwiches are good but clearly they need help with staffing. 2 weeks ago when we ordered online, the food wasn't even there when we went for pick up and to make matters worse, we had to wait extra 30 minutes for the sandwiches to be ready. Now last week when I called ahead of time to place an order...the rude lady picked up the phone and said "We're busy and can't take order" and hung up on me. I can understand you can get busy and flustered but that ain't no way to treat a paying customer. I will have to look elsewhere moving forward read more

I love this Deli but not today. Greenway hands down has the best Mac and Potato salads you can buy on LI. But today I ordered an egg white, turkey, cheese,jalapeño wrap, and what I got was egg whites, 2 slivers of jalapeño, and a turkey shaving. Went out of the way to try this delicatessen based on rave reviews. Walked in, impressed with what I saw. Then... A counter person was yelling mask pulled down over the food. I have been going to the Greenway Deli since I was a teenager. They undoubtedly have the best salads I have ever ordered in a deli, especially the German Potato Salad. Greenway also makes great breakfast sandwiches and more importantly they are fast. One other thing that is good to know is they have homemade frozen meals, such as Turkey, Sauerbraten, and Meatloaf, which have come in handy. I would recommend giving Greenway a try. read more

I love my hometown of Greenlawn and I love locally owned stores, with that being said I feel obliged to give at 3 three stars for support, however my experiences here could have been better....some great and some not so great. $9 for a wrap seemed a bit on the high end since they aren't served with anything on the side except for a pickle. (I hate pickles and think that if places are going to serve them with a sandwich or wrap they should at least have it wrapped to make sure none of its pickle juice seeps into your food, which is what happened with mine.) I love that they have a variety of wrap flavors. Their sandwiches can be made into wraps, wraps into heroes, heroes into salads, or any combination of the above. I think that's really accommodating. The options sound amazing. Lots of chicken cutlet choices which they will sub out for grilled chicken upon request. They have low carb platters which I am a big fan of. They consist of grilled vegetables and your choice of meat. The two times I have come in here for coffee, I have taken it out of the dispenser and it has been cool. Temperature cool, not groovy cool. The coffee should be piping hot. Also, the last time I ordered a wrap here I went with the tornado which consisted of grilled chicken, roasted peppers, pesto and mozzarella. The chicken had an awfully strange texture. It was tough and chewy and became really unappetizing really quickly. Not sure what was going on, but it wasn't good. I'll try this place again, but I'm still on the fence about how I feel about their prices matched with the quality of food you're receiving. read more

Rude! Rude! Rude! The woman that was taking down our order was horrendous. Instead of greeting us, off the bat she says, "What do you want I have other costumers waiting" in a awful tone. I was full but my daughter ordered a turkey,cheese and mayo sandwich on a roll and a Snapple and it came out to $17.25 . I asked the woman how that came to be and in a rude tone she said "What does it matter to you". After that I asked her "Does it come with a side" and in a harsh tone she said, "Yeah why, do you want it". I told her "Yes". But if I never asked she wouldn't have given it to me. I worked in a deli for 8 years and I have never seen an egg sandwich take more than 5 mins, two simple egg sandwiches took over 15min I finished my medium coffee while I waited....food is delish though that's why I gave a 3..... but had my order wrong twice. Every time I go here and it's been several years I am unhappy and swear to never return. Never can get my sandwiches right. Whether I ask for mayo and mustard (not too much), it globs out the sides, or bacon well done, usually fatty and rubbery. The amount of cold cuts you get is not at all worth the $8.50 price. I just visited Greenway Deli for the first time and ordered the Porky Pig. It was by far the best BBQ pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. This sandwich was enormous! Lines are always long. Even if you call your order in, be prepared to wait. Ronnie and Debbie are very accommodating, but most of the rest of the staff act like you're bothering them. I'm not sure people are reviewing the correct deli. Greenway Deli is located next to Value Drugs and Dunkin Donuts. I don't know where some of these pictures were taken. Plus that might explain some of the lousy reviews. Greenway Deli is probably the best in the area. I'm from out of town but every time I'm in the area visiting family, I hit this place up for food. I've been coming to Greenway for over ten years (more than half of my lifetime) and it has become my go-to sandwich spot on the north shore. I usually get egg sandwiches which are always delicious. Italian and American heroes and the pasta/potatoe salads are all on point. If you go anytime between 10am and 2pm (when they stop selling eggs) on a weekend, expect a hefty line. The fast paced ordering process is headed by the amicable staff who will treat you like a regular no matter who you are.
