Today is my boyfriend's birthday, so we decided to have what we coined our "Breakfast Adventure"!…read moreWe ended up at Toast because we saw they had a dog-friendly patio. Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain the day before, the patio wasn't set up. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They went out of their way to set up a table and chairs for us so we could enjoy breakfast and celebrate together with our dog. Our waitress, Jordan, was patient and friendly, which made the experience even better. Since it was our first visit, they treated us to a free stack, and the seasonal option was the Peach Cobbler Pancakes. We also ordered the Benedict Arnold, Biscuits and Gravy, Early Riser with two eggs our way, a Banana Nut Latte, and an Espresso Martini. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the Espresso Martini definitely packed a punch! At the end of our meal, they brought out a tiny Sprinkle Stack with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to my boyfriend. It was such a sweet surprise and honestly made the outing feel extra special. I'm definitely recommending this location. The food was delicious, but the kindness and customer service really stood out. They helped turn a rainy-day breakfast into a memorable birthday adventure!

Needless to say even though the footprint was basically the same the interior has been changed is very open and inviting. A friend and I were there for lunch around 1:30 on a Monday. No issue getting a table and were seated immediately. Katie our server was very nice, pleasant and efficient. Drink were brought out quickly and our order taken. My friend got an omelet special with Irish bangers and cheese with home fries and rye toast. She enjoyed the omelet and I have to say the rye bread was outstanding. Don't think it's made in house but were ever they get it from is really good. I got a lunch special of Pot Roast sandwich with onions, mushrooms and cheese on thick cut bread. It was served with a au jus dipping sauce. If it's on the menu don't hesitate to get it, it was outstanding and so stuffed I could only eat half. Will absolutely be returning to Toast !

This was my first time at the Bay Shore location. We used to go to the Nesconset location fairly…read moreoften, but it's probably been a year or so since we've been to one. Unfortunately, this visit reminded me of some of the reasons we don't come here as much anymore. The prices have definitely gone up quite a bit over the last few years. We had a party of six, and about half of the meals were kids meals, so I was pretty shocked when we got the bill. What makes it harder to swallow is that the portions also seem smaller than they used to be. The food was delicious, as it usually is, but the value just isn't what I remember. The fried mozzarella was a good example. I remember getting six to eight pieces that were easy to share. Now you get three larger pieces. They tasted great, but with six people at the table we had to cut them up just so everyone could have some. My Cuban sandwich also seemed noticeably smaller than I remember. The service was probably the most disappointing part. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, and we had reservations, but we still ended up waiting and eventually had to remind someone that we were there. As soon as we did, we were seated, so it seemed like they may have just forgotten about us. Our waiter also seemed pretty disconnected. He wrote down our drink order but still forgot several of the drinks, and we had to remind him more than once. The bathroom wasn't much better. It smelled pretty bad and there were no napkins available. There was also a large amount of napkins piled in the garbage, so it looked like it could have used some attention, especially during the dinner rush. A regular maintenance check during busy periods would probably go a long way. I will say that the food itself was very good. Everything we ordered tasted great, and honestly, that's probably the main reason I didn't leave feeling completely disappointed. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience, but it definitely wasn't the experience I remember having here years ago. Prices are higher, portions seem smaller, and the service and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. There's a reason we haven't been coming as often, and unfortunately this visit reinforced that. I still enjoy the food, but at these prices, I expect a little more.

I just ate here and I loved the french onion burger so much I had to write about it…read more For an appetizer I ordered their small order (8 pc) Sticky Wings bone in of course, swapped the wasabi cream for blue cheese. These were good, crisp, hot, and the general tsos sauce it's coated in is bright, sweet, and tangy. Onto the main event. The french onion burger which includes a double stack smash patty blend of brisket, chuck, and shortrib, topped with caramelized onions, provolone, garlic aioli on brioche with a side of au jus. I tempered my expectations but this burger just blew me away. The beef blend itself is incredible and makes for a juicy and ultra beefy bite. The garlic aioli wasn't overpowering and the caramelized onions added that nice bit of sweetness. Dipping it in the au jus just took it to another level. I was truly in bliss eating this. The fries crazy enough were strikingly close to the ones offered at the golden arches, which I'm fond of. My only knock is that they were a bit well done so while they were very crispy, they were also a bit hollow inside. Our waitress was lovely on this night, shoutout Taylor R. She took the time to offer food suggestions for my friend and he ended up loving it. She also did the REALLY cool thing where she noticed my drink was empty and brought me a refill before I needed to ask. Will be returning for this burger.

Happy hour at the bar is from 12-7pm with the bar bites available after 4pm. The place is very nicely decorated and exudes an upscale but unpretentious vibe. I ordered a glass of the pinot noir which was tasty and at $6 a nice bargain. I got the chickpea fries and was surprised by the texture. It was almost custard like with a slight chickpea flavor in a very light breading. Served with the harissa aioli it made for a nice app. After a while I decided to try the Filet mignon sliders, which I ordered medium rare, the bartender said they don't usually take a temp on those but he'd note it. The meat is sliced very thin but was tender and still had a bit of red. The arugula gave it a nice peppery bite. My only critic is the slider roll was very cottony, but the overall taste was very good. I'll definitely be back and will try something off the regular menu.

As mentioned they try to offer fresh, seasonal apps, handhelds, salads and entrees. The protein entree options only offer two to three chicken, pork, steak, seafood selections along with a couple of pasta infused dishes. They have a full bar, so if a beer or cocktail is wanted you do have options there as well. The Mr selected the Chilled Shrimp & Crab Stack, but eliminated the hard boiled egg aspect and thought it was light, tasty and refreshing. I opted for the Faroe Salmon with shrimp that came accompanied/on top of a risotto and peas. I thought cooked medium was perfect making it soft and fork flaky to mix along together. It was a very juicy sizable piece making it very filling. We didn't have time for a dessert, but noted they did have a few offerings there. Also noted they had very well kept mens/woman's and family restroom with baby changing table. Thanks! Would highly recommend this location to others.

Food was pretty lackluster even for a diner. Onion rings were ok, chicken tenders were like every other cheap restaurants. Ordered the Chinese pork roast sandwich and was a total disappointment. Also did not give extras like other diners do. Only saving grace was Banana Silver Dollar pancakes. Service did go above, water was always full, chef and waiter helped get us an order they don't normally do. They went above what was needed. Inside was decorated really nicely, felt very festive and upbeat. Was not expecting that. If food wasn't sub par, would definitely be worth a stop.
