Finally got to try Bay Shore's coffee shop, Roto, which is a block over from Main St. unfortunately , I didn't care for their coffee, it was a bit bitter for me, I ended up adding more sugar to it. It's a very tiny spot, but they also have a bar area. I was happy to see they had French toast on their menu. So of course, that's what I had to order. We found a table to sit, but it was dirty. We asked for someone to help us out, and he quickly cleaned it up.

The atmosphere is clean, fresh, and calm, which I love. I got oat honey latte and an Americano -- both were perfect. Heads up though a medium is tiny. They also did not have regular sugar (weird but maybe they just ran out). I got avocado toast which was very good. They keep it simple and clean. I would go back again.

A new "all day" cafe in the heart of Bayshore, LI! Owners are sweet and working so hard to meet the demand of this place. The inside is beautiful and reminded me a bit of Ralph's cafe in NYC, but is uniquely its own. Outdoor space is also beautiful and they had a live guitarist playing music this Saturday. Service was great, a tiny bit slower than expected but it was insanely busy. Now to the coffee and food items. I got an iced bananas foster latte (cortado style for less milk) and it was fantastic and not too sweet. I could tell the syrup was homemade with real bananas. My fiance got an iced vanilla latte (also cortado style) which was also very good and made with real vanilla beans. If you prefer a sweeter coffee, I suggest adding your own sweetener because the syrups are not very sweet, but I liked that because you can always add sweetness and you can't subtract it! We also tried a few breakfast items. I tried the lox toast which was perfect in all ways. Fresh rosettes of lox, scallion cream cheese, chives, and fresh lemon. My fiance really liked the chorizo roll up which was served with hot sauce. The owner brought out our food items and was so kind to us. We will be back! :)

My favorite place to eat dinner, best chef in town!!!! We visited for Valentine's Day, which is a rarity for my husband and me. We've actually never gone out for Valentine's Day before. But we've visited Roto a few times for dinner, and they truly have the best dinner options in town. The dinner menu rotates, so it feels like you're going to a different restaurant every time, but the options never disappoint. This time it was a fixed menu, and when I tell you every serving was perfect, no detail was overlooked. The caviar play on sour cream and onion was amazing! The short rib was tender, melt in your mouth good. Even the little gem salad had the most amazing flavors, perfectly balanced! My favorite was the chocolate cake, delicate and not overly sweet. I'm not a sweets girl, and I ate the leftovers the next day, did not share! The service is so attentive. We visited once for dinner, and the second time the server already remembered our favorite wine. The ambiance is absolutely perfect for a date night. I will continue to visit. Bonus, they also have amazing lunch and breakfast options during the day!

I'm on a mission to try every coffee spot on Long Island. Went to Roto today in Bayshore. The inside was decorated very nice, gave a library feel almost. Lots of people inside doing work on their laptops. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I was sitting outside and moved inside because it got very windy. The latte was FANTASTIC! One of the best I've had so far. The grilled cheese was good, my one downfall is I added steak and crispy onions and when it came out it was roast beef. It was good but when I add on steak I'm not expecting roast beef and would rather them state that on the menu. The woman at the counter was kind and appreciated me brining up my dirty plate. The reason I gave this place a 3 was because of the steak issue and also I think they need more seating in the open space. I sat at a 2 top and people waiting on line were on top of me which was uncomfortable. Will give them another try in the future.

I went here for the first time for iced coffee on a Saturday, the inside is done so well with a separate bar for cocktails and a separate coffee area. The vibe was nice and I wish I had time to sit a while. The service was forties and fast and before I could finish my sentence they reassured me they would make an iced coffee that I would enjoy and they were right. I went back the next day for another. I look forward to having a cocktail and try a menu item next time.

Brock, Liv, and the whole staff are crushing it. Went for lunch the other day when in town and the new space looks incredible. Had the Tunacado, Pistachio Latte, and Banana Bread. Everything was delicious as always. Can't wait to come back on my next visit to LI.

WOW! (Not to be confused with Roto Grocery that's around the corner on Main st) What a gorgeous space for an "all day" cafe. Come for breakfast in the well thought out layout, and then come back in the evening for a wine/cocktail. Egg Sandwich was amazing. Staff is awesome. 12:30pm on a Friday and they have a guitar player outside where there are plenty of tables to enjoy Al Fresco. Apartments above are lucky to have a place like this in their building. Congrats Roto

Love this cafe I come here all the time for food and drinks. The cafe itself is such a vibe and a chill place to hang with friends. 10/10 recommend.

Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain the day before, the patio wasn't set up. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They went out of their way to set up a table and chairs for us so we could enjoy breakfast and celebrate together with our dog. Our waitress, Jordan, was patient and friendly, which made the experience even better. Since it was our first visit, they treated us to a free stack, and the seasonal option was the Peach Cobbler Pancakes. We also ordered the Benedict Arnold, Biscuits and Gravy, Early Riser with two eggs our way, a Banana Nut Latte, and an Espresso Martini. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the Espresso Martini definitely packed a punch! At the end of our meal, they brought out a tiny Sprinkle Stack with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to my boyfriend. It was such a sweet surprise and honestly made the outing feel extra special. I'm definitely recommending this location. The food was delicious, but the kindness and customer service really stood out. They helped turn a rainy-day breakfast into a memorable birthday adventure!

No issue getting a table and were seated immediately. Katie our server was very nice, pleasant and efficient. Drink were brought out quickly and our order taken. My friend got an omelet special with Irish bangers and cheese with home fries and rye toast. She enjoyed the omelet and I have to say the rye bread was outstanding. Don't think it's made in house but were ever they get it from is really good. I got a lunch special of Pot Roast sandwich with onions, mushrooms and cheese on thick cut bread. It was served with a au jus dipping sauce. If it's on the menu don't hesitate to get it, it was outstanding and so stuffed I could only eat half. Will absolutely be returning to Toast !

The servers are all well versed in the menu items, including the oyster selection, which is always a plus for me. Each time I've visited I ordered a few different oysters and have never been disappointed. You really cannot go wrong with what you order. The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. My first visit I tried the barramundi which, at the time was a special menu item. It seems they added it to the Mains but with a different preparation. This time I tried the salmon which was excellent. If seafood's not your jam, they have plenty of menu items to choose from. In addition to the food, they also have great cocktails and a stellar looking happy hour menu I can't wait to try. I recommend making reservations, especially if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Both times I went here the restaurant was packed, particularly the bar area. My only real critique is that the restaurant gets a bit loud, making it a tad difficult to hear but it's also a sign that the place is doing consistently well.

However, the seating in my opinion is on a tight spaced sidewalk where people and cars pass you by. It was crowded and our waiter was fine. The food took way too long to come out. It was like they forgot our order. It was happy hour for clams so that could have played a part. However, others had received their food before us. When the food finally came, the oysters were sad. Such small oysters for a place that's on the coast and bases it menu off the ocean. Our tuna tartar tacos were great. Best I've ever had. The flavor is towards the bottom of the taco so take a big bite to get all that flavor. IMO this is a nice place. I would not make it a go to spot for their oysters. But I would return.

When we arrived, we sat at our outdoor table for at least 10 minutes without being acknowledged by any waitstaff. Once our waiter finally came over, we placed our entire order right away. I mentioned that it was my milestone birthday and later asked if he could take a quick photo of us, and he simply said no. He also barely checked in on our table throughout the meal. The busboys, however, were wonderful--attentive, friendly, and honestly provided the best service of the evening. The menu was very heavy for the summer. Ordered the filet and it came with Brussels and mashed. We live on Long Island with the best produce. Lean into the fresh summer veggies. The lobster tail was so salty. It tasted like a salt lick. There also seemed to be an issue with the outdoor tables, as at least three glasses broke during our dinner. We spent a significant amount of money and chose The Lake House because we wanted to celebrate a special occasion. Unfortunately, nothing about the service made the evening feel special. For a milestone birthday, it was incredibly disappointing. I don't think we'll be back.
