We're camping at Atwood Lake and tooled around Carrollton looking for. Place to eat. Saw the reviews and had to try it. This will now become a regular stop every time we are here. It's very nice, inviting and clean inside. Very welcoming. The owner herself took our order...very friendly, kind, and explained the menu. We love that it's a local shop with all made to order food. With that being said, our food was served pretty quickly...just a short wait. I had the daily special which was a French dip with potato salad. It was to die for. My husband had the Italian sub with pasta salad. He said it was probably the best sub he'd ever eaten. It truly was delicious. If you're in the area, be sure to stop in. My husband and I have been excited to try Deli on the Square and we were finally in Carrollton on a Friday for the meatloaf sandwich special. This little downtown deli is a must try if you were in the area. Even if you are not in the area and have the time to drive down and try the meatloaf special along with any of their other sandwich options, we highly recommend. Any of their sandwiches can be made into a wrap. Hence you will see the Italian on a wrap on my plate. We also tried the broccoli salad, which was amazing as well as a vegetable soup, which was great with depth of flavor. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Food was exceptional! I had the veggie sub which comes with a side; I had the broccoli salad. Most places this is pretty standard fare but my first bite of the sandwich was anything but. The veggies were sliced thin, some were pickled and plentiful. The mayo was delightfully tangy but not overpowering, and smoked Gouda cheese, all packed into a fresh, house made sub bun. The broccoli salad was also very tasty and pleasant to eat since the vegetables were sliced in manageable pieces. The house made dressing complemented the broccoli nicely. Portions are generous and the coffee was fresh and delicious too. Passed through Carrollton today and stopped in with my two kids. All three of us are were impressed and we'll be back - we live 2 hours away but will go out of the way to return when we have the chance. What a cute Mom & Pop place! The owner is so friendly and so helpful, and the food was so very delicious. I had 1/2 of a Turkey and Smoked Gouda sub with potato cheese soup. Everything is homemade here, the sub bread was fresh and perfect for the sandwich. The potato cheese soup had big chunks of potato and the cheese wasn't overpowering. My husband had the Meatball Sub and some coleslaw, and both were delicious. He said it was the best meatball sub he has ever had! And the coleslaw was light and so tasty. Since you walk up to order, we didn't have a waitress, but all the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Out and about in the local area and thought we'd give it a try. Glad we did! Great little soup and sandwich shop right on the historic square facing the 1885 courthouse. Order at the counter and sit where you like. Small place with a homey feel, booths and tables. Counter help was friendly and information. We had potato salad, broccoli cauliflower salad, an Italian sub, a meatball sub, and peanut butter cookies. Everything was delicious. Laura, the owner, chatted with us for a few minutes. She's only been open since February, but says things are going well. She bakes her own breads for the sandwiches and you can tell. Takes them to another level. I'm new to the area and was just walking around exploring the center of town. I stopped into the Deli on the Square just to see what it was like. It is an attractive and very wellcoming little space. The interior reminded me of a restaurant out of the the 50s and the people inside were as nice as can be. I only ordered a cup of coffee and sat down at a table to drink it. It was good coffee. I was made to feel most welcomed by the waitresses who were most attentive. Judging by my eyes, the food looked marvelous, but I wasn't really hungry at the time. I travel Northeast Ohio for work and whenever I'm in Carrolton I always make it a point to stop at Donna's Deli which is in their downtown area. Everything is homemade, the food is phenomenal, and Donna is almost always working the front counter eager to let you know what the day's special is. I always get whatever the special is, and am always blown away by the unique flavors and how fresh everything is. If this place was located in a large metro I'm convinced there would be a line around the block for their food. But since you're in Carrolton, you can get served right away and a hearty lunch will run you $8-9$. Phenomenal. Only open for lunch hours M-F. read more

I finally had lunch @ Donna's Deli, on the square in Carrollton, OH. I had heard that they had terrific food, but limited hours (10:30 - 2:30, M-F). We arrived @ 2:10 and had, perhaps, the best lunch I've had in the past 20 years. My wife had the Reuben w/potato salad. I had the French Dip w/Turkey Noodle soup. While my wife raved about the Reuben, with its thinly silce corned beef & homemade sauce, I had the best French Dip I've ever had (& I order this out...a lot...). Both sandwiches were generously sized, great ingredients, and simply delicious. The sides were homemade, fresh, & perfectly sized. This place is a gem...simple decor, great service by people who seem to love their jobs, and tremendous food...all at a very reasonable price. This will be our "go to" place for lunch in Carrollton. Donna's is amazing! Carrollton is lucky to have a deli like this! Donna makes everything from scratch. The daily specials are creative and delicious! Sometimes the tomatoes and other veggies are right from donnas garden. The macaroni salad is the best I've ever had. The servings are very generous. All of the sandwiches come with a homemade side dish of either potato salad, macaroni salad, pea salad or a cup on their homemade soup of the day. All of their salad dressings are made from scratch! Looking for something different, I stopped for lunch in the Carrollton square. This place does a steady business, and deservedly so. The chili special was very good, and sufficiently flavored, a rarety in this part of the country. The dining area was clean, and the service was friendly.
