My husband recommended this place for a long time and I kept putting it off. It looked good but kind of pricey... well it's worth it. I got one of their egg, bacon, and cheese on a Kaiser roll sandwiches and it was so good. I've been dreaming of another one already. My husband got The Kong, I believe, which was so huge he got to save the second half for the next day and it was still good! I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and a pickle today. The sandwich was good, they use American cheese not cheese whiz, and it was very tasty. I'd probably rate it an 8/10. They give you a whole pickle on the side- it was huge and crunchy, but the taste wasn't as expected. It was a little sweeter than I'd like, and just not as flavorful as I'd expect. I really miss this place - Deli Zone got me through my college years at CU. I would eat there multiple times/week at different points during the day and I can honestly say that they have the best breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches throughout Boulder. You gotta try the baby kong - eggs, sausage patty, hashbrowns and cheese - it really doesn't get better for a hangover. You also can't beat the staff - it's owned by Chau, the sweetest, most kind lady in the entire world. The other guy that works there just as often as Chau is Huu and although he's not talkative or friendly, he can make an amazing sandwich. This place sells quality sandwiches of all sorts and in my opinion has some of the best hangover food on the hill. I eat breakfast here almost every day and have gotten to know the employees pretty well through repeat transactions. I came in one afternoon after Deli's forgot to turn off their open light and the owner, who is the nicest lady, was in the process of locking up and leaving. I told her I didn't have a problem going to a different restaurant but she insisted that it wouldn't be a problem for her to turn on their machinery to cook me a sandwich quick before leaving. This place is awesome. I met my boyfriend here actually, we both have been going here for 3+ years. You can always tell that they do a good job based on the lines of customers in the morning. You cannot beat the price and the quality of food. They serve chicken breasts that are grilled in house and fresh veggies. The Jamaican is my favorite but for breakfast the Wall Street is a for sure option. Warning though. They are always extremely busy so expect some wait time. First time at Deli Zone. Probably won't go back. Nothing that burns my New Yorker Italian bottom more is a chicken parmesan sub that has no flavor. The bread here is pretty decent but if youre gonna offer a chicken parm please take some steps to make it taste more than just sauce. A chicken parm should typically be a piece of chicken that has been either breaded and baked or fried. That breading really adds flavor. Here they use grilled chicken. Healthier for you but if I was concerned about that I'd eat a veggie sub. Now if they don't want to use fried or breaded chicken then spice that shite up. This is the perfect place if you're looking for something to grab quickly, but they also have a nice upstairs area for small groups of people to sit and eat.
