Boulder local here. My friend turned me onto this place and now I'm obsessed. The food is fresh, fresh, fresh & always delicious. I've ordered the spicy chicken (the habañero jam is ridiculously good), the prosciutto apple, the chickpea avocado, and the beatnik (the pretzel roll was fantastic). I've also greatly enjoyed their tomato soup. They have very unique and delicious beverage options, the local brown bag chips are the best I've ever had, and my sweet tooth loves the food sensitive & homemade dessert options they have (vegan/paleo cookies and brownies galore). Speaking of food sensitivities, their almond-based feta is a great addition for anyone who cannot eat dairy. The owner is often working and is always so warm and smiles at customers waiting on line. First visit was meh for me. It's a small space- limited seating and one table was left uncleared the entire time we were there (30 minutes?), so when customers neglect to clear their own tables, staff aren't bothering to check tables. We ordered to eat there, but they still packaged our sandwiches to go. The staff didn't call out the order loud enough for us to realize they'd been prepared, so I think they sat at the counter for a while. My son was happy with his chicken pesto though he commented that it could've used a more generous application of the pesto. I kinda suffered from order regret. I chose the Turkey & Brie. The moment I unwrapped it, I was overwhelmed by the onion smell. Even after removing some of the onion, its presence lingered. My bad, I ordered it after all. The turkey and Brie comes with apple slices, and two kinds of mustard - a honey mustard and stone ground mustard. The honey mustard is what caught my eye. While I realize stone ground mustard is tangier, this sandwich was overcome by the strength of the onion and stone ground mustard. You don't even notice the apple and Brie. Just an overall miss for me. Last, if you happen to be dining in, you can use a bathroom (with a code) but it's a block away in a parking garage. I'm not down in Boulder super often, but I'm likely to skip a return visit. If I were to return, I'd try the chickpea and avocado sandwich instead and hope for better luck. read more

It was my first time in today and the staff was really kind and friendly! Maybe my expectations were too high but for a $15 sandwich, i was hoping there would be more filling to bread ratio. It felt like i was just eating pretzel bread with a hint of turkey and i couldn't taste the bacon jam which I was looking forward to the most. I wouldn't want to pay even more money to double the filling amount at that point. So, i'm not sure i'd visit again as I don't think the price accurately reflects what you get. :/ read more

Yum! This revived me and prepared me for a solid day of walking 5 miles around Boulder! The gluten free bread is quality and the sandwiches are too! The turkey Brie had Dijon mustard on it which isn't my fav, but the manager was so kind and I got a side of the sweet bacon jam to hide the Dijon! There was a line but it was totally worth it! Service was initially excellent and my friend got her (non GF) sandwich immediately but then they made sandwiches for three other later customers before finishing mine. I understand the GF bread needed to be toasted but it was just sitting there while people who came in after me got served. Anyway, the sandwich was ok. Very little meat. The GF bread is smaller than the normal which is typical but with the small portion of meat and toppings inside it just looked sad compared to my friend's beautiful big sandwich. I think one of the biggest pluses is that they have a lots of veggie and vegan options! The sandwiches we got were just okay so would probably give this spot 3.5 stars. I got the apple and argula grilled cheese. While the outside was really nice and crispy, the cheese was hardly melted -- and tbh could have done with a bit more. In my opinion there was a bit too much balsamic, it overpowered the other flavors, a glaze also might have been better. The concept was great but execution a little off. Had a yummy half sandwich and soup bowl here. The prices are pretty steep compared to the rest of the area but I understand it is higher quality ingredients. Both the soup and sandwich were tasty and I loved the custom stained glass piece. Such a beautiful piece of decor. The area is also very cute and great for walking. Today a colleague and I escaped the office for sandwiches at the Organic Sandwich company. We arrived at noon on the dot and were pleased that the lunch rush had not yet begun (when we left the line was to the door!). Great timing on our part. After eyeing the menu we both went for the Spicy Veggie which features fresh avocado, spicy house-made giardiniera, caramelized onions, aged white cheddar, pea shoots, and tomato on a pretzel loaf. As neither of us were in the mood for the pretzel roll we both subbed in the baguette instead. The staff making the sandwiches were efficient, friendly, and welcoming. We watched our sandwiches go down the line as we chatted. The cashier was darling and oh so friendly. Back at the office our sandwiches were unveiled. The bread was amazingly delicious though it was a bit tough. If anything this helped me from scarfing it down as it encouraged me to take some time chewing in between bites (three cheers for mindful eating and really enjoying every bite of your food). I did note that I had a difficult time tasting the cheese and giardiniera as there was quite a bit more bread than filling. My co-worker was very saddened by the lack of filling (this was his first visit to this establishment). I reached out to the business owner (via the survey that comes to your email with your receipt) and was so pleased that she reached out withing just an hour or so to apologize and confirm she'd be touching base with her staff. With a mission as great as theirs and wonderful customer service I'm sure I'll be back soon to try one of their other offerings (I have always been curious about their breakfast sandwiches). read more

This was the best sandwich I've ever had the privilege of eating. It was so hard to even decide which sandwich to order because everything on the menu looked insanely good. Also, I need to hype up the owner of the store because she was so kind and servant hearted. She was literally washing the tables and tending to every customers need. I love her so much!!! Organic Sandwich Company is my go to spot for a quick lunch in Boulder! I often do pick-up from this spot on my way to the mountains- Their sandwiches make a perfectly transportable & delicious picnic! You can truly tell they're using fresh, local & organic ingredients- Real food just tastes better! They have tons of awesome flavor combinations- including lots of vegetarian and vegan options. My personal favorite sandwich is the Turkey & Cranberry on their baguette. The shop also has tons of unique drinks, chips & desert options that are locally made. I usually find myself grabbing an extra treat here- like a Rowdy Mermaid kombucha. I do think the prices here are a bit high- but it hasn't deterred me much since I really love their food & convenience. It also seems to be fairly on par price wise with other Boulder delis, but for a higher quality product. read more

We are on a road trip to Longmont and found ourselves at this cute sandwich shop. The online ordering is only through a service called chow now - so you can't order direct. We also called and there's no way to order over the phone. Luckily we used our google account and ended up avoiding having to make another food service account. We ordered two lemonades, two chickpea avocado sandwiches, and a bag of chips. The sandwiches are a good size - where my husband ate all his and was stuffed, and I ate half of mine and was content. I saved the other half for later and it was still just as delicious! The sandwiches come on sourdough bread, which gives it a great flavor that compliments the chickpea avocado that would otherwise be kind of bland. I found it a little odd at first the chickpeas weren't seasoned at all in the sandwich - but it worked out! The lemonades were alright, but i wouldn't buy them again. Just checking the ingredients i found it odd the lemonade had apple juice in it. My husband however loved it so - to each their own! read more

We stumbled on this place and decided to try it out. We got two sandwiches a salad and their homemade chips. I would skip the salad, it's really just lettuce and dressing, nothing else. It should be priced as a small side salad because it's not enough for a meal. The sandwiches were also a little lackluster (we both had the Caprese), not much flavor but the one saving grace was that the bread was soft and fresh. I ended up eating mostly the bread from mine because it was so good and better without the insides lol. The homemade chips were also great and very flavorful and the staff was really nice. I don't think we'd go here again but it was okay in a pinch. read more

Since visiting organic sandwich I've had to totally reevaluate the way I read and review sandwich locales. The food was truly fantastic and revolutionized my mental image of what it means to consume a Sandwich. It was made with love in such a way that eating this sandwich brought a true sense of joy to me, and my loved ones. The service was fantastic, and the staff was truly kind. It seemed as though they had a genuine vested interest in seeing their clientele enjoy their experiences. As for the ambience while it does feel at times a bit cold and impersonal the nature of the sandwiches themselves, and the people that work there totally change this and just make this a light airy space with a deep sense personal connection. All of their sandwiches, meat or veggie, are delicious. The hot pressed sandwiches are particularly delicious. Everything is so fresh and high quality. They always have sourdough, which I appreciate. They also always have locally made treats like chips and baked goods, as well as some good drinks like kombucha. I usually pick up or eat outside. They have a decent amount of seating both inside and out (when it's warm). They do not have a bathroom but will give you the code to a restroom in the parking garage next door. read more

I love the idea of the organic sandwich company. I'm a HUGE fan of organic foods (obviously hellooo we are in Colorado here!) and it's a decent sandwich for a decent price. I think I was a bit disappointed about the seasoning - things overall need to be a bit more salted. The pretzel loaf is a bit plain, and it's pretty large in comparison to the rest of the filling. (I got the spicy veggie). I loved the heat from the giardiniera but it needed just a tad more garlic or salt. After I added my own garlic salt, I was really happy with it! We ordered delivery from them, two days ago, on Valentines Day. It was about 30 mins before they closed, which I didn't realize until looking at their hours about an hour later and realized they had closed. We ordered two bags of their Denver chips, a turkey and brie sandwich, spicy vegetarian sandwich, and a roast beef sandwich. The spicy veggie sandwich was served on a sliced loaf bread instead of the advertised, pretzel bun. The sliced bread also just crumbled to pieces as I held it. The turkey and brie sandwich seemed to be missing the brie. At first we thought it might be some kind of spreadable brie, but looking closer at the restaurant photos, it seemed like it should've been more obvious brie cuts, which definitely wasn't visually apparent in what we received. The spread was apparently the mustard, instead. Our son ordered the roast beef sandwich and when I showed him a picture of the sandwich on the website, he was like, "oh, mine is missing the red onions." The onions weren't a huge deal, but just seemed to add insult to injury. The two bags of Denver chips we ordered ended up being original flavor. The image shows the sweet and spicy flavor out front, which happened to be one of our more recent favorite flavors and brand of chips. That's why we ordered two bags, but a little more disappointment was just sprinkled on the situation, instead. Another fun thing that happened was that my wife ended up reviewing our order on two different websites, and got an awkward reply from a restaurant representative saying, "thank you for leaving this review in two locations," which I'm sure they would've been fine with if they were positive reviews. Being near closing, it seems like whoever was working had checked out a bit prematurely. It's Boulder, I'm sure celebratory, shift ending smoke breaks happen. Unfortunately, this one seemed to have happened at the expense of the customer. If I were a manager there, I would look at who was working that night instead of getting defensive toward justifiably, negative reviews. My spicy vegetarian sandwich was actually decent, even on the incorrect bread, but my wife and son (19) were definitely not too happy with their sandwiches.
