We hosted our "Baby in Bloom" baby shower here, and we had an amazing experience from start to finish! Brooke was so communicative and so personable, and was able to help us create a package that would include all of our vision without breaking the bank. The space is huge and was able to accommodate for all of our needs! We had an adorable flower cart for our guests to make their own beautiful wrapped bouquets, which they loved. They even had an adorable vintage speaker that connected to our Bluetooth for some great music throughout the event. Parking was plentiful (in a separate lot, but easy to find). First things first... when you see the venue in pictures it seems a bit small. and then you see it in person and you're like "wow this is actually bigger than I thought". I booked a couple months out because I wanted to have the reservation and date set. a couple weeks before my event we went to check out the space and we were able to plan out a bit where things would go and what and where we could move things. this space is wonderful for bigger parties of 100-150 people. there are bathrooms. there is lots of street parking and it's close to the freeway. I guess one thing I didn't agree with was how much time we have to set up and break down. we had to add 2 extra hours to set up. other than that Brooke and her husband were wonderful hosts and were pretty accommodating. I definitely recommend this venue for parties such as graduation, engagements, baby showers etc. A solid 8/10 read more

This is an amazing place -- it was the perfect venue for my daughter and son-in-law's baby shower. Brooke, the owner, was wonderful to work with. I ordered a casket spray for my mother's service. The owner Brooke mishandled the order, in every way possible. First she wrote the wrong place, as a church not a funeral home with a similar name, which I corrected verbally 3 times! I also provided the address, not even the same street as the church. Brook promised texting of pictures during the floral creation and update during delivery. Not only did I receive none of that, but they were never received!!! We did not have flowers for my mother's casket!!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE, on top of a personal tragedy for my family. NO EXCUSE! She tried to offer one though after I called following our service, by texting that a full refund would be provided due to their delivery mistake to the church after I said FUNERAL HOME! With a gift card that I would never ever use or even give away to anyone. This mistake is atrocious, unacceptable after the fact, and unforgivable given the purpose and meaning of it. Then she blamed a bounce back from my own email. BS! I provided my email, if she could't then read her own writing she shouldn't write in person orders on paper, use the computer that was less than 19 feet away! And she had my number because she immediately charged and sent that via text the same day as ordered - no problem. No calls for any of this were ever received, not during, not following their screw up, although she knew about it and tried to say they emailed, and not later, or now! All very unprofessional. The insult to this huge disgusting injury. I RECEIVED A PARTIAL REFUND FOR THE OWNERS MISTAKE, if there was ever in-fact a mistake in delivery, because she NEVER sent me a picture of any kind of the arrangement as was promised, as promised I would have during its creation. She majorly *F'd* up my mom's service with no call whatsoever, just a texted note and refund MINUS HER $40 TAXES, because they certainly are my taxes after receiving nothing. Disgusting professionalism, and I highly recommend any other florist in town if you don't want anything important to you, such as a one time only opportunity to honor a parent at their time of passing, to be screwed up. * UPDATE: I disputed the taxes not refunded to my account, it's been a month and she still has never responded to me or my bank in any regards!!!!!!! read more

if i could give brooke a 0 star i would. i wouldn't even be leaving a review at all but this is another desperate attempt at trying to get brookes attention to refund over 700$ that was a deposit put down for her venue that she has decided to inform us was no longer gonna be available to host our event between our event date after already receiving our deposit back in October. it has been well over 2 months of me and my team trying to get into contact with brooke whether it's multiple messages or multiple calls or emails she refuses to respond or give any proof that she has submitted a refund. i feel completely scammed and at a loss for words. this lady is untrustworthy and a complete fraud. if you are a new event creator or host looking for space to host your private event DO NOT WORK WITH BROOKE. she will scam you out of your money and treat you with 0 respect. it's sad to say this considering how nice she was when we first spoke with her and were working with her as our venue host. she now has purposely disrespected us and avoided fixing the situation which is as simple as returning our money that isn't going to be used for the venue. there is no reason for her to still have our money when we are no longer her clients. It is a beautifully renovated florist shop, with arrangements as well as community workshops for parents and children to experiment with floral designs. I reached out to the owner/designer, and her response showed an evident lack of concern for what she deems good design and service compared to what she offers on her website. In my opinion, it's false advertising. I fully understand substitutions may be necessary. There is no excuse for the item they delivered and there was no refund offered. After allowing me to choose the delivery date for my flower arrangement as 'next day', I noticed at 6:00pm that following day, my flowers had still not been delivered. While speaking with someone at the office, I was notified that the driver was experiencing traffic and the address they are delivering to is somewhat out of their way. Several other excuses were made for why the (now day old) flowers may not be delivered until the next morning. The flowers did end up getting delivered after the person I spoke to called the delivery driver. She offered a 20% off discount for my next order but I declined. I've had flawless experiences without complications using other companies. By the way, my rather small bouquet cost me $100 total - $60 for the flowers and the remainder to the transportation service (that almost didn't even deliver them) and taxes. I don't have a lot of experience ordering/sending flowers so I wanted to use a company that was local to the recipient. La Mesa FDS website looked great and made it clear they are a local business with a great reputation in the community. Many of their arrangements looked naturally beautiful and not too busy or over the top. The website ordering process was easy and I'm so glad they included the different delivery prices for the areas around San Diego--another local touch that gave me confidence in ordering from afar, Fresno CA. I stumbled across this shop while visiting a neighboring business. The pumpkins out front caught my eye, and I noticed these gorgeous arraignments being carried out of the store to be delivered, so I had to see what was inside. I walked into the store and immediately felt as if I was transported to a beautifully romantic flower/gift shop you would find walking the streets of Paris. I saw many unique gifts I have never seen anywhere else. Everything in the store was well thought out and put together in a way that gave me so many great little gift ideas. I was expecting the place to be pricy but was pleasantly surprised to find out how reasonable everything was. By the time I made it to the front counter, I realized I would love to share this wonderful find with a couple special people in my life. The staff was so helpful in creating a floral arraignment, with a pumpkin as the vase, for my mother's birthday. And they wrapped up the most adorable and creative single rose arraignment for my daughter. I purchased this cute little ceramic plant holder to go with it. Thank you for making my visit such a fantastic experience, listening to my input to make the perfect gifts for the people I love, and making me feel like I traveled to a distinguished shop in a distant land right in my own back yard. My boyfriend went in the shop and ordered something for a very special event, and when we received it, it look like somebody had used the flowers before, and that an explosion had occurred in the center of it. There was no continuity to the design and a five year old could've done it! The owner did not provide any solution to this situation. I would never refer anyone to this shop, nor would I ever return. So sad and upset with my experience. I booked my flower order about 6 months in advance. It felt like Brooke really cared and understood what I was asking for. I am not a picky person, so I was excited to see what she was going to come up with. I asked for 5 boutiners with yellow, white and green flowers, no roses. We received all 5 with some pink and some roses. I also asked for my maid of honors bouquet to have yellow orange and a pop of hot pink which came out beautiful, but I was not expecting a replicate for my bridal bouquet, which i asked for all white flowers just no roses. I was told just a few days before my wedding i would received pictures to choose from for my bouquet and never received those. I never received a call confirming my order either. The night before my wedding i had to call and confirm a pick up time which was 11am. I said ok but later since my ceremony started at 12:30. When my brother when to pick up the flowers they were not ready until 12. We almost didn't have flowers. So disappointed and will not recommend or use their venue again. read more

Called on Mother's Day regarding purchasing a pre-made bouquet . Was told to stop by to pick one up. Upon arrival I stood at their check in booth for 20 minutes without so much as an acknowledgement. Finally a "we will be with you soon" without taking my name or the name of the six others forming a makeshift line. Waited another half hour with not a single word from staff before just having to leave. It is certainly understandable to be busy on a holiday but given the overpriced options one may expect a level of friendliness or customer service. As an aside, while walking my dog alone with my family in the street more than 30ft from the front door of this establishment the owner proceeded to berate us for not wearing a mask while her husband proceeded to load supplies directly outside without a face covering. Not a great look to harass your neighbors who do work to behave responsibly in these uncertain times. read more

I contacted La Mesa Floral Design and Joanie answered. I texted her some Pinterest photos from my friend's wedding Pinterest page and she made the most beautiful arrangement and even delivered it herself! My friend said that the arrangement was so exquisite that it needed its own rotating stand bc it was beautiful of all sides. She said it was like her whole wedding wrapped up into one arrangement.
