It's fall in Houston so you know what that means, dining alfresco before 11 when the heat reminds you that it's still October in Houston. I swear their croissants rival those monstrosities we saw everyone eating at the '24 Olympics in Paris! But these haven't lost their buttery deliciousness that so many do. My go to splurge is chocolate & almond croissants with a prosciutto and Parmesan sandwich to take home. The croissants can easily feed 4 each if you want to calorie count or take home and serve to overnight guests. The sandwich: I'm not telling you that you have to share but, you can. It's also one that can feed 4 for a light lunch with tomato basil or French onion soup. Make sure you visit this little gem. read more

After reading the reviews we were praying for a brilliant sandwich. It was not:( Lived in Beirut for years, wife is Italian and I have had some insane sandwiches. This was not it. At least not today. Roast beef banquet was dry as was the prosciutto. It was stacked in the front (view angle) and nothing at the back. The prosciutto sandwich had truffle oil/butter that was not good and the roast beef was old and bleh. Will try a sit down meal in the future but today was not a good one. read more

There is something about their baguette made on the premise that keeps me coming back. The cafe is always busy, has outside seating but you must get there early on the weekends if you want to sit and enjoy people watching. read more

This place is the greatest hidden gem in Katy! From the decorations to the music, the vibe will make you feel like you are in Paris. They have a variety of pastries, and they all looked so good! I ended up getting the banana croissant and an iced latte. The croissant was certainly one of the best ones I have ever had. It was chewy and flaky on the outside, just like how it should be. The buttery taste was rich but not overwhelming. It was so good that I ended up going back to get some for my family. Although the croissant was amazing, my latte tasted very average. Paris in Katy, TX! I love this place. The family owned restaurant is well ran, extremely friendly, clean and extremely yummy. I highly recommend anything on the menu, you can tell it was made with love. I love the fruit tarts. I would eat one everyday if I could! Lol. Sandwiches and breakfast menu is also a hit. I have frequented this bakery for years. Lately, it has been completely unorganized with people cutting in line (not knowing where the line starts or ends) and servers walking past you as you stand there for 10-15 minutes ( no eye contact, not acknowledging you standing there, etc.). Then when you finally get a chance to order they want you to come to the front away from all the baked goods so you can't see what you're ordering... or have to shout over the noise in the bakery and point to what you want. A little organization would be nice. You are pushing away a long time frequent customer. Lately it is basically chaos ordering from this place. I am a very easy customer. I come in. I pay for my food. I always tip and I get it to go. I never order food that needs to be prepared. Yeah noodles simply involves putting an already pastry in a box and pouring coffee in a cup. You would think you want to encourage that type of customer. When friends or colleagues, ask me about bakeries or places to eat in the area I will warn them that the food is great but the service and the organization is completely chaotic. Unless, of course, management takes some action and improves the experience. This is not difficult! read more

I find it hard to find good bakeries these days, but thankfully Delices de Maurice exists. The place is super clean and organized, the staff are very friendly, and of course the food is exceptional. My go-to items are the vanilla eclair and the ham and cheese croissant. It is a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for as far as taste and quality. There's plenty of parking and there is additional outdoor seating in the back, which is near a beautiful and relaxing water fountain. I've been going there for over 5 years and have never had anything less than a 5-star experience. read more

This gem has become one of my family's favorite go-to places! We come here at least once or twice a week. Always consistent w/ their solid food, delicious desserts, and great coffee. The staff are sweet as pie :) Some of our favorites include the chocolate croissant, cinnamon roll, "hero" dark chocolate mousse, mascarpone berry tart, grilled chicken crepe and really any sandwich. Fruit tarts are amazing. My MIL introduced Maurice's to me bc she picked up some pastries for a family party (mille feuille, tiramisu, fruit tart). My SIL says the fruit tarts are their best pastries, and I agree! I came back a few days later to try their breakfast. We had Nutella/strawberry crepe (huge), Nutella croissant (honestly kinda disappointing bc the croissant wasn't flaky...it was hard and chewy), and ham and cheese croissant. This place is everything I want it to be. Close to my house, Good food, and good service. It is a little pricey, $27 bucks for just 2 sandwiches, but due to these crazy times - it's understandable. They offer a great variety of sweets, and other baked goods as well! I had the veggie sandwich and substituted the croissant for a baguette (there was an extra charge for this)- it had pesto, eggplant, tomato and mozzarella. The BF had a ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette - he said that his sandwich was good, but he liked mine better. The baguettes were great just the right amount of hard and Crispy! We ordered 4 different types of fruit tarts and chocolate croissant to take home. The fruit tarts were very appetizing to look at and definitely tasted great. The croissant was flakey, buttery, and full of yummy chocolate cream. Pricing is a little higher than the competitors, but the quality is also higher. Tried their croque monsieur. Was as expected. Rich, buttery, and cheesy. Toasted up nicely and thoroughly melted cheese and warm ham. Moist center and crunchy outside. The salad was a nice touch but unnecessary. Portion was large enough to share. Also tried the Royale crepe. Very good, lots of flavors and the filling was ample. The roasted eggplant was tasty but a little tough. If you enjoy those flavors you won't be disappointed. Again big enough to share. We brought some each home. They have inside and outside seating. Service was prompt. Ambiance will vary on timing and the crowd. Was charming mid afternoon on a Saturday. Appear to be an independent so we will be back. Their menu has many items that excite the palate. Pricing is modest. Two sandwiches with imported water, tax and a tip 50 bucks. ( Nov. 2023) No adult beverages. We drove 30 mins for this tiny Katy cafe because so many people had told us how good it is. And they were not wrong! I don't even think Common Bond bakery can beat their croissants. It's a small coffee shop tucked away in a strip. There is not a lot of sitting space inside or outside the cafe but they do have some patio dining. I would not recommend going with a large group. The pastries are incredible. My husband had the chocolate croissant and I had the apple tart. They warm it slightly before serving so the pastry just melts in your mouth. Sandwiches were delicious too (I got the veggie and husband got the turkey). But sweet items at this cafe win hands down. I drove by this French bakery one morning and decided to turn around and grab a quick coffee and see what else they offered. They have a wide selection of sweet and savory foods and ample indoor and outdoor seating. Turns out the chocolate croissants were just as great as other reviewers indicated. I actually ordered the chocolate and banana croissant, which I've never seen before. Their iced lattes were delicious as well. As authentic as I think I'll ever get around here. On the first day I got a charcuterie and a prosciutto baguette sandwich.I'm telling you it's all in the bread and this place nailed it. The quality meats can't be beat. I recommend both these sandwiches to anyone. I also splurged on my calories and had the berry tart and the fruit tart. My fave out of these 2 was the berry tart. Today I got the charcuterie again and this time the ham and cheese with butter. Loved this one too! For desserts I have a red velvet cupcake, berry tart, strawberry cake, chocolate cake. Unfortunately I don't know the proper names to these desserts but they are worthy of recommendations to try! Stop in I promise you will not be disappointed!
