I learned that the pastry chef is from Lebanon. I now believe that these are some of the best pastries in the Greater Houston area. An impressive collection of cookbooks on the shelf. I shall let the photos speak. The pastries look well made and I opted for a pastel de nata and lemon something. Absolutely delicious. Regrettably, Illy Coffee, so I passed on including a coffee.

This is still one of my very favorite cafes and sandwich places anywhere in the world! Love the staff and the selection of hot or cold sandwiches, crepes, pastries, treats and cappuccino. The baguettes are so crusty and fresh, the chocolate chip cookie is one of my favorites in town (I take an extra to keep in the freezer), and the place itself is cozy and comfortable, inside or out on the patio. I just wish I could go for dinner too sometimes!

First time! I never knew there was such a place! A hidden gem in the Westheimer Pwy! In the heart of Cinco Ranch! Really great atmosphere! Calm bur delightul! The service was quick and very nice! This is a busy busy cafe. At 9:30am on a weekday, the cafe was already filled with people. Their display cases were filled with beautiful pastries and stuffed sandwiches. I came here specifically for their pastries. The tarts had such beautiful glaze on them that they were screaming out to me to buy them. I got the fruit tarts and lemon tart which weren't too sweet. I got the apple pie tart too which had perfect crust, and wasn't sweet. I love the shaved chocolates on top of the croissant, and the amount of chocolate in the croissant was perfect. But the chocolate croissant was not buttery enough. I love the small outdoor seating area which is decorated with pretty flowers and plants. There are a few seatings inside the cafe too. There is ample parking in front of the cafe and there is garage parking at the back too.

4.5 stars I met with a friend yesterday for dessert and coffee. We decided to sit outside since the weather was beautiful and the ambience was perfect. This being said there was seating in the front of the cafe on Westheimer, but also in the back of the restaurant in the courtyard setting. We chose to sit in the front of the cafe. The staff was great and the staff cleaning the tables was very attentive. The marscapone fruit tart was absolutely delicious and the coffee was great. They offer breakfast and lunch options. They pay close attention to detail with the way they display their food. Very good presentation! The only thing I think I would "complain" about is the fact that the music was extremely loud outside and we could barely hear ourselves speaking. i'm sure that if I would've gone inside and spoken to someone, they would have turned the music down, but at that point we were getting ready to leave so it really didn't make a difference maybe on my next visit I may mention it. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a quick bite or dessert and coffee. A little touch of France in Katy Tx

I'm mad at all of you because this place is amazing and no one told me! The food was as close to perfect as I've had in years. The staff was prompt and extremely friendly. We asked for some recommendations and every one hit it out of the park. Not only do they have a beautiful pastry counter, but they have a small menu. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Crepe which was full of pesto/cheese goodness. The person behind the counter recommended a Pistachio Croissant - all I can say is "wow!" It was too much food for just me. I could have easily split the crepe with my daughter. The food was as delicious as it was beautiful. The ambiance is great, but inside dining is a little small (like any cafe). My family of four managed to cobble together a couple tables, and the patrons were kind and accommodating. Coming here today really took the sting out of losing power during Beryl. This is definitely going to be a regular stop for our family.

This little Katy gem is a real treat! The food is wonderful i even tell my Chef friends about this place. :) Several choices and everyone is a walk into heavenly taste. Was running late to work so i brought them some Canelés Au Rum, Mascarpone Tart, Lemon Tart and Hero Mousse!! Everyone was so delighted with the presentation and flavors of each treat!! Really liked this bakery. Its super cute and cozy with a very peaceful outdoor sitting area in the back. There is a huge fountain back there that makes it very relaxing. I had hot tea and a croissant and my nieces had macaroons. Everything tasted just like a bakery in France. The sandwiches looked delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was very nice and calm. Went here on a Sunday after shoe shopping next door. This place is VERY French. We had coffee and macaroons. Coffee was ok. I was wanting something savory, but the selection remaining late on Sunday wasn't much. It does seem sweets are more their strong suit. I doubt I'll be back often as a don't prefer sweet, but I think this place will do fine for those who are looking solely for French sweet bakery items. read more

If you are looking for an authentic Italian sandwich shop, you've found your place. Both sandwiches were absolutely amazing however, we asked for them to be warmed and both were served cold. The beignet was also cold and tasted like a bad donut. The eclair was on a rocket ship to taking our taste buds out of this world along with the cream puff. The only reason I could not give this place 5 stars is because they did not warm our sandwiches, and the beignet was not worth it. I believe if the sandwich was warmed and we did not order the beignet this could have been an easy 5 star place. We will be back! read more

Man, what a treat. The wife and I had time to kill and happened to stumble across this place. I've only ever been to France once (the airport) but the smell was almost identical to a cafe/bakery I ate at there. We chose from the hot sandwich menu and were not disappointed. The bread is amazing and the ingredients in the "From Italy" complimented one another perfectly. The Croque Monsieur my wife ordered was sublime. That bread!! We were also fortunate enough to meet the owner who was both warm and professional. I look forward to coming here again to buy some bread before it's all sold out. read more

Happened to come here when looking to satisfy a pregnancy craving of lemon meringue tartelette. Well I left this bakery with $60'or desserts and enough croissants and pain au chocolat to feed a small army. Everything was delicious!! It's a little pricey but I'll pay for authenticity. Born in France I love a good cup of coffee and croissant. I find most croissants don't have that yummy flaky buttery texture and taste but this place has it all. It's small on the inside so don't show up at 10am on a Saturday and expect to sit down immediately. The sandwiches sell out pretty fast regardless of the day but because all ingredients are fresh and sandwiches are made daily you got to plan ahead. The dessert cases are mouth watering. If you come here don't be shocked if you leave with two or three options of desserts because it's hard to pick. read more

Walking in and sitting down, the atmosphere and ambience is lovely. Very home-y and cozy. However the pastries and breads do not live up to the expectations of a French bakery. They lack some quintessential pastries like kuoign-Amann and danishes. I tried a quiche, baguette and croissant, and nothing stood out. However, staff is friendly and if you are just looking for a place to sit down and chat, this is a contender. read more

The food here is amazing, the customer service could be more inviting. I have gotten to go food several times and, while the food is packaged beautifully it never includes napkins or to go silverware. While they do offer curbside during Covid they do it a tad bit grudgingly. But the excellent food keeps bringing me back. read more

A little bit of Paris in Katy. The atmosphere is quaint and the music French. They sell baked goods - breads & lots of sweets: fruit tarts, cookies, cakes. They also serve a delicious French onion soup and grilled chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon on baguette. The sandwich came with a fresh salad and potato chips. Most of the customers said they come often and no matter what you pick, you can't go wrong. I'll definitely go back. read more

Was craving for some good croissant but didnt feel like driving into town, so seeing the good reviews, ordered the almond and chocolate croissants here. The cost was $5 each, so not cheap. They looked ok, but after taking the first bite, it was a total let down. The thick brown almond paste had an off putting citrus taste that I did not like. It's just not good compared to the chocolate almond version at la sicilia bakery. Skip this place and enjoy the good stuff next time. This place was a total dissappointment for me. read more

Excellent food -- all their sandwiches are excellent but the Bourgeois, Brie Salami, and hot Turkey are my favorites. Then there's all the desserts -- so hard to choose, but my favorites are the Strawberry Tart, the Berry Frazier, and the Croissants! This is my new favorite place! The owners have been there when I go and they are so nice. We have had their fig pie, veggie sandwich on multi grain croissant, chocolate croissant and plain croissant. Also had their potato and chorizo quiche. Everything we have had has been so fresh and tasty! Beautiful presentation. They don't have a menu because they change their items daily. Love this place! Finally something different and quality in Katy. Fresh and delicious pastries. When I say fresh, I mean FRESH. Many different types of savory and sweet croissants. Not those artificial croissants we eat in other places. Great coffee also. Nice setting and super friendly staff. Forgot to mention: I love crepes, I'm pretty picky about it and guess what, had their chicken pesto crepe and loved it!!! Yay! read more

I ended up saving these delicious treats for dinner on Monday when dinner plans that evening fell thru. We arrived at 85 Degrees Bakery after having lunch at Supreme Dumplings - Katy nearby. My friend decided to pick up something for their family and I was like okay, let me pick up something too. My friend, her husband, and I went to town here and we all picked up something for later. We probably spent about a good 1/2 hour here looking and seeing what we wanted to purchase. In the end, I found 4 items that seemed to be the best items to purchase. Anything chocolate and pastry like was the best choice for me. The prices here were decent and moderately priced at around $3.25 average per item. I also gotten a strawberry banana smoothie to go as well. For the most part though, the experience here at this 85 C Bakery here in Katy is almost the same as in my hometown of Honolulu, where we have 85 C Bakery there too. The bakery itself is rather small but has everything you'd like from an Asian style bakery. Felt pretty good and nice to have the Asian influence in South Texas when you are away from home. I enjoyed my time here at 85 C Bakery and if you're into delicious snacks and pastries, consider coming here. I had to wait about 5 minutes before leaving because they had to make my smoothie and it was not made beforehand. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have plenty of parking for you to choose from. But best bet is to come here early to secure the best parking spot available. Not sure if there is regional public transportation system here in Katy, but probably best to have your own ride, a rental, or friends who are willing to take you around town. Then there's always Uber or a lift who can take you on command, but it does cost money for you to do so. With that said, 85C bakery here in Katy, Texas, where a lot of happiness is these days, is the place to be where you want to have snacks at your convenience. It's not really in Houston but it's worth a drive if you're headed out that direction. I'm not sure if they have mobile ordering or not but maybe that could be the case if you want that option too. She accommodated a few requests and the price was very reasonable. I decided on a cake that fed up to 10, cookies & cream flavor, and a few treats that were gifts for my guests to take home. The treat gift set was made up of the chocolate chip cookie, the rice krispie and the brownie. Payment process was simple and I was able to pick up my order on Saturday. Keep in mind I made the order on Tuesday I believe. Upon pick up, I had the privilege of meeting the baker, who is quite famous and is currently on several TV shows. He was so kind and talked to me a bit about the process of making my cake. The team even created the treat gift set for me and that's not something they offer as a service. I don't even have the words to describe how much everyone loved the cake and the treats. My cousin even asked me if it'd be weird for him to just order a whole cake to eat even though his birthday is in February. I'm not a cake person but I definitely had a slice and loved it. Tomatoes & Pork Soup Dumplings - I was exceptionally curious about incorporating tomatoes into soup dumplings, so I had to order these to satisfy my curiosity. Grateful to see they also had a thumbs-up on the menu to reinforce my decision. The dumplings were beautifully folded and didn't tear when picked up. You could actually see how much soup was packed inside--they looked like little jiggly water balloons. The broth was unexpectedly sweet while still being savory, with a very clean flavor. My BF said they were probably some of the best soup dumplings he's ever had, and I'd have to agree--they were pretty top-tier. These came out hot-hot. The wrapper felt a bit drier than other soup dumplings I've had, giving it a mildly chewy aftertaste that I wasn't fond of (I'm very aware of textures), but in terms of flavor, absolutely no complaints. It's important to note that I've never been as big a fan of soup dumplings as my BF is, but I admit this place converted me. Time to see how well it compares to Din Tai Fung. Spicy Pork & Shrimp Wonton in Red Oil: - Wonton - Very juicy with well-rendered pork fat. My favorite part was how delicate the wrapper was. After watching the dumpling episode of Chuuka Ichiban (Cooking Master Boy), I became overly aware of the thickness of dumpling wrappers. I have to admit this place absolutely nailed it--the wrapper was just thick enough to hold the filling, yet delicate enough that it almost melted away as you chewed. - Red Oil - Tangy and aromatic. Despite being an oil-based sauce, it didn't taste overly greasy. The seasoning and herbs gave it a signature spice that felt layered rather than simply spicy for the sake of being spicy. It actually grew on me the more I went back to it between the other dumplings, working as a great palate cleanser and taste bud reset. Pork & Scallion Thumb Bun - I'd never had a thumb bun before, but it's quite dainty, just as the name suggests. The texture was a bit firmer than I would have liked--almost like a stiff potsticker. All of these dumplings had a very pronounced pork flavor. I found this one a bit too salty compared to the others, perhaps because the soup dumplings and wontons were balanced by their broth and red oil. Maybe I just needed to dip it in vinegar (someone educate me). I tried it three ways: plain, accidentally in soy sauce, and finally in vinegar. The vinegar definitely mellowed out the saltiness, but this still wasn't my favorite dish. Service was fast and considerate throughout our meal. They refilled our water attentively and checked on us at a meaningful pace without feeling intrusive. I also noticed they didn't play any music here, but somehow the constant buzz of the staff moving around was comforting. The atmosphere felt peaceful and gave off very authentic Chinese vibes. Overall, we'll be visiting them again soon at their new location closer to us. #worth

I ordered a cake for a specific date. I showed up at 3 o clock the day of the pickup (door says they close at 6:30pm) and the restaurant was closed. So, next day I show up at 1pm to finally pick it up and the lady told me that they sold the cake to somebody else. What kind of service is this? not even a day and they sell your cake even when i showed up during their business hours. On top of that she says that they closed early because of covid around 3 to 3:30, I WAS THERE AT 3 O CLOCK and this lady is lying to my face (a customer that was outside told me they all close and left at 2PM!!!!. I literally didnt say anything and walked away. Not coming back ever again and non of our friends and family will come either. read more
