    Spicy Ceviche with Corvina

I've been here plenty of times and thought I'd done a review by now but. Parking is a pain and don't stress out of you get blocked in. It's normal and everyone is friendly enough to let you out. It's located in a strip mall with other stores close by. Inside has always had music playing and been comfortable. I normally go for the traditional spicy ceviche. This Peruvian restaurant has an extensive menu so bring an appetite.

The pan con chicharrón was delicious, and the coffee tasted just like home. Overall, our experience was wonderful -- thank you so much!

I can't believe I just found this place. It's hole in the wall. Not in best neighborhood but definitely worth it!! The food was soooo good. Their menu is a little tricky but I'm definitely coming back to try the breakfast. The trio ceviche was delicious, the ceviche is made perfectly, not too raw or overcooked. The rice was so good too. The leche de tigre was pretty big and full of flavor. The service was good too, they were busy but still came around to check on us.

Came across this Peruvian restaurant because I was craving seafood, the menu is diverse, their menu includes soups, classic Peruvian dishes like lomo saltado, ceviches, causas, papa a la huicaina and many more seafood dishes. They have a menu for breakfast and a menu for kids I ordered the grilled octopus and the chaufa with chicken. OMG!!!! Everything was delcious, generous portions, phenomenal flavor. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the chaufa had lots of chicken, hot, and freshly prepared. All the dishes were tasty and flavorful. From the moment I walked in the staff was friendly and attentive and accommodating. The restaurant is very cozy and clean, the fans make it very comfortable. Lovely wall decor and great menus I was a assisted by Isabel, she was friendly, professional and super welcoming! So happy to found this gem!!!

Im Peruvian and love coming here for breakfast. The Lima breakfast comes with a pork rind sandwich with thinly sliced sweet potatoes and onions and either coffee or tea. The pork is always crunchy and just so soft. I get the passion fruit smoothie with milk and it's just the perfect combo. The place might not look the most inviting on the outside but the food is so good and the service is too.

If I could give it a 4.5 out of 5 I would. It was NEAR perfect. I've never had authentic Peruvian cuisine unless it was La Brasa, but this place puts them to shame. I order the Tacu Tacu con Lomo Saltado and I didn't know what to expect because it didn't have a picture. But man oh man was it good. The serving sizes are very big. I could only finish half of mine. I wish I had two stomachs!! The reason I say 4.5 stars is because the service takes a long time. They are very busy, which is a good thing, but if my aunt didn't know the workers there, who knows how long we would've waited. Even then, a smaller table recieved their food before we did so I thought that was kinda bad. But it could also mean that the food we ordered just took longer to cook. They are a family owned business after all. You can tell by the chemistry of the workers. They played music and novelas on the screens and it felt like home. Its not too cold or too warm inside, the waitresses are friendly and it smells DIVINE as soon as I walked in. Tip: Try everything! Be open minded to new foods like the Cooked Corn bits they serve at the table while you wait. They weren't that bad.

I just got an extra large jalea (familiar) and I'm very dissapointed. The flavor was ok not what I expected and the color of the deep fried sea food was darker than normal like if they had used a very old oil. The octopus, calamari, shrimp and yucas hard as a rock! it was unedible. My jalea familiar came with only a few shrimp and 5 small pieces of greasey yuca. The container of the jalea is large. Unfortunately almost half of the container was filled with very small fried pieces that were even harder to eat. What a joke!!! To pay almost $60 for a dish that is not enjoyable. And on top of that the tartar sauce wasn't the Peruvian style tartar sauce. It was a greasey mayo, I got three of them and only one container of hot sauce. The last time I ordered the jalea was $10 less and better. Stay away from ordering jaleas at Las delicias del Peru. Horrible experience ever.

I'll be honest, when we pulled in, we almost turned around. The restaurant looked like it was under renovation, and it was completely empty. But let this be a reminder: never judge a restaurant by first impressions. We gave it a shot, and I'm so glad we did. The woman taking care of us was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially with my wife's special requests. The service was warm and welcoming from start to finish. Now for the food... wow. The Lomo Saltado was great. The steak was cooked perfectly, the flavors were outstanding, and everything tasted fresh. Even the salad was excellent, which isn't something I usually rave about. Funny part. When we walked in, I thought, "Uh-oh... why is nobody here?" But as soon as we finished our food, it was like someone flipped a switch. The place started filling up, and by the time we walked out, it was packed. I guess we just arrived at the perfect time! It does look like they're expanding and renovating the restaurant, which is great to see. I'm not just going to tell you to try Kausitas.... I'm going to tell you to run there. Outstanding food, a hidden gem that's absolutely worth discovering. We'll definitely be back.

We visited on Tuesday night as a party of 7 (5 adults and 2 children), and we were actually the only customers dining inside the restaurant. I had called ahead beforehand to confirm they were open and let them know the size of our party. When we arrived, the table was nicely prepared, which we appreciated. The food itself was great. That has never been the issue. What completely changed the experience for us was the automatic 25% gratuity added to the bill. When I politely asked why the gratuity was so high, I was told their structure is based on party size: 18% for 3+ people, 20% for 5+, and 25% for 7+. While the receipt does mention that parties of 3 or more are subject to a service charge, nowhere are those percentages clearly disclosed beforehand. A 25% automatic gratuity for a table of 7, especially in an otherwise empty restaurant with average service, feels excessive and misleading. For context, I am not someone who refuses to tip. I regularly tip 18-20%, even when service is mediocre, because I understand this is how servers make a living. But customers should be allowed to decide whether service warrants 25%, not have it automatically imposed without clear transparency. What made it worse was the dismissive attitude we received when simply asking about it. Again, the food was good. That's what makes this disappointing. But good food alone does not make up for poor customer experience and lack of transparency. Will not be returning.

It's in a very teeny strip mall, which did not have any parking spots. But across the street is a bigger strip mall with lots of parking. So, we easily found a spot there. The dining room is nicely decorated and clean. (The bathroom was spotless.) We were first greeted by a young lady who did not speak any English. I guess I asked too many questions (in Spanish) because she gave us to the other waitress (who spoke English, but we still communicated in Spanish). I tried to order a Pollo Saltado with Tacu Tacu but was told only the Lomo Saltado could be combined with the Tacu Tacu (still not sure why). Anyway, we ordered a fish ceviche, a Tallarin Saltado de Pollo, and a Lomo Saltado. The ceviche was decent. It was nicely seasoned and lemony. However, I struggled with a few fatty pieces of fish. The Tallarin Saltado de Pollo came covered in raw scallions (eek for my raw onions allergy), which I painstakingly picked off. The waitress offered to bring me a new meal when she saw what I was doing. I declined. I guess I didn't think I needed to warn about raw scallions when I asked for my onions to be well-cooked because I am allergic to raw onions. However, it was very good. The chicken was just right, not too dry. And I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The Lomo Saltado, too, was tasty. But the beef was very chewy because it was overcooked. We liked that both meals had a good flavor without being too salty (a problem we have with a lot of Peruvian restaurants). The eatery seats about 40 and was half full with 1 table of 10 and 5 tables of 2. I am guessing there was a chef in the kitchen. But the two young ladies had a difficult time keeping up and service was slow. One person at the large table got their meal so late they packed it to go home. When we were done with our meal, the waitress brought us two complimentary desserts. They were Mazamorra Moradas (a gelatin-type dessert with the purple fruit and other fruits in it). It was refreshing. I think it was offered because of the raw-onion fiasco. Luner for two with ceviche and two meals was $75. The food here was decent and there was even live music (though a tad loud), but the slow service was a detriment.

Unfortunately I didn't try the desserts because I had a ceviche de pescado to start and a lomo saltado as a main dish.
