So when I was originally messaging I was told haircut plus blow dry was 85$. They said if the hair is long and thick they will charge for that. Ok. SHE DIDNT DISCLOSE that 'hey, your hair is considered long and thick, it will be this much more, do you still want a blow dry?' No. She just does it and charges me 115$. That's a jump from what I was told and I would not have gotten a blow dry! Ridiculous not to give your clients the option. Do not recommend. Very unprofessional. read more

Oh my gosh, what to even say about this place? Each time I go in there, I either have a specific instruction of what I want and she NAILS IT! OR I will say "um I don't really know, can you aim for this and just make me look better?" and nails it that way too. I had a HORRIBLE dye job done by another salon, which is supposed to be super highly rated in Brooklyn (I won't name names HERE but you can look at my other review, UGH). Anyway, Delilah was SO professional and kind, she didn't make me self conscious about anything (baby hairs, damaged follicles, horrible dye job) and helped me understand what she was doing and what she thought would help me. Their website has them open every day of the week, by the way. Delilah Salon--you should change that. Yelp and Google info isn't as reliable as your own freaking website. Luckily for them, there are loads of 5 star reviews about their service, and most will gloss over this one as an unfortunate incident. It probably looks worse for me than for them, but business practices matter and making an appointment for a day you're closed and not apologizing for it is something I think others should know about. Hopefully it won't happen to anyone else. Original review: FYI, this review is purely about customer service. I never made it to the salon to get my hair done. So, the service AT the salon might be absolutely fabulous. I wish I knew. I called yesterday and made an appointment for today. I showed up and lo and behold, the salon is closed Tuesdays. When I emailed the salon about this, they informed me that it was *my* mistake, that she told me the salon was closed on Tuesdays and that my appointment was Wednesday. This is not only incorrect--the person on the phone said, "tomorrow at 11am" and I'm not free Wednesday--but it's pretty terrible customer service. And it's not someone I want to do business with. I called ahead of time to make sure this salon takes walk-in's. The receptionist who answered the phone was accommodating and friendly while she made sure that Leila (the owner) had the time to see me. Within minutes, I was seated in the chair and had an in-depth conversation about what style of cut I was looking for. Leila really takes her time to assess your hair type and also makes sure she is giving you the kind of cut and style you want. I really only needed a trim to make my lob a bob again, but we went through meticulous options and styles before deciding to proceed. I noticed the pictures of Greece on the wall and as it turns out, she lived there for a while and speaks the language fluently -- just like me :) It was so nice to be able to converse in Greek (not something I have the chance to do very often...) with a such a genuinely friendly, warm and talented person. After a delightful chat, she was done with my cut and I was really in love with the style she gave me. She just has a good eye for hair and a knack for styling. She even gave me styling tips and cheap product tricks to use to add texture and volume, without pushing products. I am really happy with my hair cut and think I found a new hair place for bob maintenance. I think Delilah is a hidden gem in Park Slope and I would highly recommend a hair cut from Leila. Leila cut my hair back in April and it still looks amazing. She listened to everything I said, and understood my hair texture. The price was so reasonable I nearly fainted. I had hair down to my waist, and am often price gouged for having long hair. There was no part of the service that was not explained to me thoroughly in terms of process and price. I have been cutting and coloring my own (graying) hair for about 3 years (thanks, pandemic!), and recently realized my hair looked pretty bad and I needed the help of a professional. I wasn't sure anyone could fix my color. I saw Leila for cut and color. The color was quite a process! She worked very hard putting a truly incredible amount of foils on my hair to blend my old, orangey color with a new blond color. She used a process I have never seen to then tone the darker parts. After she initially explained what she was going to do, I wasn't sure how it would look, but it turned out great! I showed her a reference photo for the cut and she did exactly what I wanted. I walked out of the salon truly feeling like a new person. I really appreciate she took the time to make sure it was right without once making me feel rushed. Delilah is my go to salon for hair cuts. The salon itself is really cute and the service is great. The owner Leila is fantastic. She's always helpful especially when I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with my hair, and she really spends a lot of time making sure your hair is just the way you want it. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen, and I usually call the same day to make an appointment and have been successful each time. I only go on weekdays though so I'm not sure about weekends. The pricing is pretty reasonable for NYC. I have pretty long hair and a hair cut with wash, blow dry, and style comes out to around $65 if I pay with cash. If you pay with credit card there's an extra charge but it's not too much more. Leila is gradually turning me blonde. But she has her work cut out for her, because when I landed in her chair last week, a buildup of black dye, the hardest to remove, as well as some red DIY = FAIL highlights were waiting for her. She explained to me that she didn't want to fry my hair, but would return the base color to its natural brown and do subtle caramel highlights. The outcome was gorgeous! The color is much more natural and has golden brown highlights, embodying a sun-kissed look appropriate for summer.
