It was fun. My 7 year daughter really liked it. It's not super entertaining for anyone who isn't a kid and doesn't have an imagination. So go with an open mind and just enjoy it for what it is. Our 11 year old had been wanting to go to this place for a couple of years so we took her - our 7 year old wants to do anything the 11 year old does, so we brought her along and hoped it wasn't so scary that she'd need therapy, but I digress... Our trip to the Lost Temple started with us looking for a coupon in a free coupon book we picked up. $5.00 admission - ok that sounds decent... until we arrived and saw the sign out front that is there EVERYDAY that says "$5.00 TODAY ONLY" - the regular price is $5.00, everyday. So our coupon ended up a worthless piece of perforated paper that got us in the door. Well played Lost Temple - well played. Our first adventure in the Lost Temple began with my sister visiting the Lost Temple Women's Bathroom which had "lost" all of its toilet paper, and a stall "lost" its door. Tacky Lost Temple - tacky and GROSS! We paid our $ and ventured in. For our 7 year old, she was a little scared but took it head on. Our 11 year old thought it was lame. You could tell this once was an attraction built to feature live actors, and now reduced down to a few talking statues, a dark maze and a couple of tired animatronics. Sad Lost Temple - very sad and pathetic. Two projection effects were interesting but that's it. If you have littles and want to take them to a small "spooky" attraction - they may like it, but anyone over 9 will probably think it's embarrassing. We lost $25 at The Lost Temple and they lost my recommendation to anyone over 9 years old. I recommend a name change to "Sad Lost Temple." It will go nicely with the closed haunted attraction down the street which was once "Castle of Terror" but it closed and the letters now read "Castle of Error." If your kiddos want something spooky - this is it, but find a real coupon - at least a 1/2 off or something. If you're over 4ft tall and/or an adult and want something scary/fun, visit Zombie Outbreak. It's worth it - and they have toilet paper. read more

Not worth your money. I wish I read Yelp before coming here because the reviews I read said it was a tour. It is NOT!!! It is a Haunted House where you can not see anything at all. They have lights in some reasons to mess with you so your eyes will not adjust at all. You walk around in pitch darkness. There was a few places that try to scare you but otherwise it was very annoying. Even at 5 dollars a person, this was not worth it. As far as the "attraction" itself goes, one star all the way. However, the guy working was really nice and funny and we had a good time so I feel like giving it one star overall is disingenuous. I visited the Lost Temple this past summer with two of my best friends who were celebrating their shared birthday. We all took the day off from work and decided to have a super touristy day in the Dells - mini golf, lunch at Marley's, ice cream, a trip to the casino, and, as this review may have given away, a visit to the Lost Temple. We considered doing another Dells activity but the $5 "today only" (LOLOLOLOL, this sign is up literally every time I've been to the Dells) "deal" motivated us as none of us had ever actually coughed up the cash to do any of the three attractions in the area. We had our choice between the haunted house (vetoed because one friend hates them), Top Secret (the upside-down White House), or Lost Temple. We went with the shiniest choice. When we arrived we paid and had a five or ten minute wait that allowed for spacing between groups. The person working the counter was probably the highlight of the experience - super nice and played into the theme, warning us about the perils ahead, making jokes about how he'd never see us again, etc. I appreciated his commitment to it all - he easily could have been eye-rolling and miserable like so many summer job holders. When it was finally our turn we went through the door and stepped into darkness. And, spoiler alert, this is what 95% of the attraction is. A pitch-black maze. There are some temple-themed decorations here and there, but mostly you just stumble around in the dark. As mentioned, one of my friend hates haunted houses, and is in fact terrified by them, so we made quick work of getting through. There were some loud noises and a couple of people behind the walls for "scares" but that's about it. I'd say the whole thing took us about 3-5 minutes to navigate, and we ended up walking out a door that led us out the back of the temple. It was abrupt and random and I'm still not sure if that was the end or if we accidentally let ourselves out an emergency exit. For how long we waited to go in versus how quickly we ended up outside it seems like the latter. So, in sum: It's a waste of money/tourist trap that is even worse than you'd expect. Employees are nice. Bathrooms are atrocious. Avoid. read more

If I could give zero stars I would... Coming to the dells all my life I would see and pass by the lost temple multiple times in my life. This year my mom and i decide to finally go and see what it's all about. Considering that its aesthetic and architecture is so cool and matches the theme of a "lost temple" we went on ahead to check it out. NOW LET ME TELL YOU. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. They have a special everytime and every day we stay- that these attractions are "5$ TODAY ONLY" well they're five dollars everyday!!!! If I would have known better I would just taken a stroll down a basement with a couple of animatronics. It would have just been the same. read more

Out of the three "free" attractions given to us for staying at mt Olympus I would say this one was the best. It was corny of course but what made it memorable was the end of the walk, you'll understand why but we laughed and I think that's why everyone comes out laughing. Great job guys :) read more

Hahah this was a joke .. The only reason I did this as this came free with our stay in My Olympus resort. My wife was really scared and decided to not go in even after convincing her for long time. SO I decided to go in alone... I was the only person in the building so i thought it could be scary .... Its like an extreeeemely dark room with tons of objects lying around. I was really hoping some people popping out and scaring me . But all i did was a 3-4 min walk in dark rooms alone with trees around and in no time i was out of the door. It was so dark that i could barely see where the entrance/ door to next room was... Oh ya and there is this one fake ass spider image that pops on the floor ... OOOOOOOOO SCARYYYYYY !!! BEWARE !!! Fun, quick activity for some down time. $5 fee was fine for the 15 run thru of the mini haunted house. We did all 3 of these type places- Lost Temple, Ghost Outpost & Top Secret- & they were all funny & decent time-killers. Go in to each place w some humor, an open mind for goofiness & don't expect too much, and you'll enjoy it! I would not recommend it for younger kids- it can be a little scary & they won't get the humor in it. read more

One ever so simple fix--call it a HAUNTED HOUSE. Blatantly, across the front of the place, label it HAUNTED HOUSE. Like everyone else we thought it was an Indiana Jones type maze--ohhh, adventurous, let's go guys! The people at the candy shop across the street called it a "fun maze!"--kids were ecstatic! The girl at the front desk sold it like it was a MAZE that was just subpar scary... The scary sh*t aside, it would have been nice to know that there are NO LIGHTS on throughout the "maze"! Have you ever tried to walk a 7 year old and 4 year old through the dark? While there are a**holes behind walls howling and and screeching? And do you understand what a liability it is to not WARN people (especially with small children) that it's practically pitch black in there? I couldn't see anything in front of me--one hand had my 7 year old clutched to my side and the other was feeling along the walls or hanging on to my husbands belt loops...while my husband was carrying our 4 year old and navigating with his other hand and a prayer. ...and now we have a 7 and 4 year old that are traumatized and refuse to sleep alone. I can't say enough how disappointing this place has turned out to be. I went to the temple about 7 years ago and it was a lot of fun, good story and had a great acting tour guide. The kids loved it and I played along. I went last night expecting the same with my current family and was such a waste of time and disappointment. I was expecting them to experience this great time as I did previously. We paid $25 dollars just to walk in a dark room for 2 minutes. Let me recreate this for you and save you the $5/person we spent. Go to someone home you have never been before. Turn off the lights. Try to find your way from the front door to the backdoor. That is basically what this is. I read that it was a guided tour, it is not. The woman at the ticket desk (who was very nice btw) told us we would be spooked, and there are a few jumpy moments (there are even signs that say if you are pregnant or have a heart condition you should avoid). So we figured this would be a Egyptian themed haunted house. I actually didn't want to go (not a fan of haunted houses, I get scared very easily), but hubby wanted to go, so I sucked it up. So, we start. Hubby's in the lead. 5 college guys are in our group too behind us. 70% of this journey was in pitch darkness. The light that did come was from cheap décor or dim lights behind it. Nothing moved. Nothing jumped out. Oh! There was a light that creates A spider on the floor.....oooooo! And it appears that there was someone following us behind a wall that would breath or howl....oooooo! Then poof! You get blinded because you are suddenly outside and all the bright light stops you in your tracks as your eyes try to adjust to light. The end. We all just laughed with how not scary and silly that was. read more

I think one of the biggest problems this place has is that it has literally changed it's concept over the past few years...but they don't advertise it as that way. This is NOT a tour guided attraction, it was a few years ago but now it's basically a HAUNTED HOUSE. They don't advertise that enough & I think that's their downfall. It tends to get referred to as an Indiana Jones type of attraction but a better way to describe it to people is, think of the horror movie, "The Mummy" you're going through darkened rooms that's decorated Egyptian style, then they have someone is scaring you in random areas. We're a horror family who loves haunted houses so we enjoyed it. It's not a Universal Studios haunted house, so if you're the type that isn't into the "haunted gimmicy attractions" & wants state of the art decorations & paid actors- this isn't for you. If you like small haunted houses & think they're fun- you'll get a kick out of it, which we did. My only complaint I have is that I was under the impression it was still the regular old attraction w/ a tour guide & I asked if it were wheelchair friendly (my father had foot surgery so he couldn't walk) the lady assured me there was no problem....lol omg that was an adventure in itself. Once we realized that it WAS a haunted house, we all had to do military style lining- we had to figure out paths to get the wheelchair through it. Other than the clear massive miscommunication- we enjoyed it for what it was, a haunted house. *So be AWARE bringing someone in a wheelchair or crutches into this. They tout it's handicap accessible but there right there itself is a huge mix up. read more

Would not recommend this place at all. We first walk in and there was no greeting from the man at the front counter, all he said was just the 3 of you. Told us our total, thank goodness it was only 5 dollars a person because it was terrible. Said have fun, didn't tell us what to do, look for, and he didn't tell us what it was about. I now know why it says no pictures. It's very dark and there's not much to look at but dark walls. Not a place for little kids or even preteens as there was nothing fun for them to do.
