Great place to go but the only complaint I have is dogs are allowed. And unfortunately, I have dog allergies.

This is certainly a get what you pay for experience. At $6, my expectations were low and they were met! Despite the very dated features of this haunted house, we had a great time! We laughed more than screamed, though we did have a one good scream. Honestly this place is very dark, I was more scared of falling and running into walls. I did run into two walls and was unsure of where I was going a couple times. This whole experience is maybe 5 minutes and I might be a bit generous with that. If you are looking for a few laughs, and maybe one or two scares, give this place a chance. read more

LOL. Listen, 4 stars is a little generous, but lets go a little deeper. This little business does something nobody where we live offers, outside of October. The price is not much, especially if you find a coupon. And it doesn't take long. Kids will like it. They may be pretty scared by it. You will maybe get startled a couple times. Some of the sets are pretty good. This is great for kids of a certain age where actors in costumes may go too far. And to be honest: memories. I will remember the shrill screams as i was shoved into the next dark room by little hands, me laughing all the way. Then later my daughter pushing past me to show her bravery. Priceless. read more

This is a more you get what you pay for haunted house - no live actors - just animatronics, walls and darkness. It's really not scary but is more of a nostalgia thing for me from when I went with my family years ago. You can get 2 tickets for $10 with coupons from those dells coupon flyer books, it's quick and fun if you're curious and want something to do, dont expect anything really scary or great but it's fun. read more

It's like Beetlejuice but with plywood. Ghost Outpost is good old fashioned handmade monsters on pneumatic pumps. Yeah if you came to the wisconsin dells looking for a corporate conglomerate haunted house you got your priorities wrong! I LOVE this place. We go every year. We went through Ghost Outpost in a group with an 8-year-old who wasn't even scared. His only expression seemed to be "Cool!" at a hallway of glow-in-the-dark skeletons. There wasn't anything scary or unique about this place, just a bunch of wax figures in turmoil. When objects popped out, instead of being startled I was more interested in examining the primitive mechanics used to create the illusion (or lack thereof.) One "fearsome" display featured a hillbilly vomiting into a trash bin. How is that terrifying? I see that all the time in Cincinnati. Unless you like paying $8 to walk through a dark hallway with sharp corners, banging up your elbows and knees, it's best to avoid Ghost Outpost. read more

Just some dark hallways and a few motion sensor animatronics. Most of which are pretty worn and cheesy looking. One or two were interesting, my fav was the vomiting man. Received this free with our hotel stay. Was a good way to spend a few mins. There are no actors to jump out at you so for those that really can't do haunted houses this is a safer bet for them. Some of the blind corners are so dark that you have to feel your way around them. I will say the outside of the building is well done. read more

This a slight step above top secret but that's not saying much. It's filled with strobe lights and I mean filled. I felt sick after going on and I wouldn't be surprised if it gave someone a seizure without having a seizure disorder, don't waste your time going in. read more

I visited Ghost Outpost during my trip to the Dells. My standards were not held too high considering the fact that authentic "haunted houses" are typically not open in July. Even with somewhat low expectations, I was still extremely disappointed in this experience! It was a huge waste of money - even with our coupons! I would not recommend this to anyone, excluding those with small children who are easily entertained. Save your money and pass up on this tourist trap! read more

Ya gotta give it one star for a Monday because it only cost $5 a person to get in. So for the price it was worth the 15 minute investment of our time. My 10 year old son was scared. My 12 year old son laughed. My 18 year old son rushed ahead to hide in the corners to startle all of us when he could. Monsters are all automated scenes and pretty silly really. Not very original. But you know what? If you are a fan of haunted houses you should go and support the effort...of which I applaud here. read more

This is the first "haunted house" I have entered since I was 6 and my brother left me in one. So I was, even at the age of 27, a little apprehensive. But I turned out to be pleasantly freaked out. Nothing too shocking, just good, old-fashioned, somewhat hokey scares. Probably very good for families with younger children. Admission was pretty reasonably and there were senior and children discount admission as well. Not to mention any hotel in the area will have a rack with a discount coupon for this place. read more

There is a fun house and haunted house at this location. I'm glad it was only $6.00 per person to go in each place. My son (almost 8) went to the fun house and said it was freaky because he didn't know what to expect. My daughter age 10 went with me to the haunted house (she didn't like it). Not super scary, but more sick and disgusting. Yes you need to use your hands to feel the walls to find your way in the dark but very predictable with the motion sensors. As a haunter myself, I am always intrigued to visit all types of haunted attractions, so when I was introduced to Ghost Outpost, I was very intrigued. From the outside, the physical building looks great, it presents an intimidating look and from what I can tell, the detailing is great. Then comes the price. For 6 dollars a person, you do NOT get what you pay for, let me just say up front. The guy at the desk didn't seen very enthusiastic or excited by his position. If you don't like your job, at LEAST fake it! Now for the inside. I will first, blatantly say there is an incredible amount of missed potential. As a haunted house operator, I could do wonders with a space such as this. It seemed so "commercial" The animatronics that greet you speak lines that are pretty cheesy, and don't really set the tone for whats to come. You walk down a few more dark hallways until you reach another the scene, where the motion sensors are easily identifiable, as with there are in every scene. The same routine continues for a few more minutes, hallway, scene, hallway, scene. No spoilers here, but the ending is very comedic and added a nice touch. Again, I see missed opportunity here. Stick a few more motion sensor'd pop ups, and more loud noises. These small details are what really put a person on their toes. But again, speaking from the perspective of a haunter myself, I was pretty intrigued overall. If your a big halloween enthusiast, then you will enjoy taking a look at other ideas and scenes that are presented here. Overall, its not so great, not worth the money, but great if you want to kill some time while bumming around the dells. read more
