I visited my great friend. He was recently discharged from a hospital, but needed some rehab to strengthen himself to go home alone. I was there January 1. I checked in, gave the name of visitee (Is that a word?), and she sent me past the vestibule, through the lovely appointed public area to his room. He didn't know I was coming (probably my bad), yet, the place looked OK, and he looked better. He said everybody was great there. The staff was friendly, and rehab went according to doc-prescribed. We talked in the lovely appointed public area, and actually went outside for three hours -- come on -- January 1 -- and it was warm and balmy. Lots of residents passed by us, and knew who he was, which made me think there was a friendliness, camaradarie among these short-timers. He went home shortly thereafter. And we went out to lunch as we could. He is my great friend. And he died Wednesday in his sleep at home, November 8. P.S. He was a Yelper. I've known him for 25+ years. read more

negligent care for my dying spouse. He had serious injuries from falls and was not given warm food at meal time. No rails on beds so he was laid in the floor. I finally took him home with me where he died by my side. Not enough care for these needy elderly folks. read more

Someone needs to check on the residents throughly because residents go without hearing aids for months, they don't get assisted with toileting, have rashes between their legs(I was told and a family member had shown me a picture, residents who needs assistance going back to their rooms after meals are left in dining room for extended periods of time even after calling for someone to assist them, resident with diet/texture restriction being allowed to sleep allowed with a lollipop in their mouth, staff uses and takes from the residents ( using their deodorant, takes their toothpaste, hair bonnet, Q-tips, phone chargers, body wash, and their change tucked away in their drawer. They falsifiy information do that it can pass with State. Breanna, Ast. DON and Nurse Sandy even changed my mothers medication pass time without our knowledge or her PCP's order. If State would not notify them and show up unannounced maybe thing wouldn't be allowed. I'd noticed that a lot of workers walk around with their ear buds in talking on the phone even when they should be assisting residents in the shower. Also, they will put your loved one on Psych meds without notifying family not even checking their health history. Maybe because the Chief of Psych is also part owner of Delmar Gardens, seems like a racket. No one cares, like I was told by Charge Nurse Sandy "I don't know and I don't care" when discussing my mother's ER diagnosis. It's all about having a body, even if not qualified. DON,), Charge Nurse Sandy, Marci(Social Worker), Optum Nurses (Sara & Amanda) PCP Alex Rudoi will all burn in hell for how you have NEGLECTED my mother damn near killing her again with the same medication Levothyroxine that was changed to be taken at night but is suppose to be given in A.M. on an empty stomach. August 2025: Delmar Gardens West, Rehab facility. We met with Bruce to discuss our frustrations and concerns with several other facilities my Mother in Law had been in as her health had diminished. We were hopeful and supportive that Delmar Gardens West would be a better placement...and it was. Supportive nursing staff, quiet environment, clean and no offensive odors, supportive personnel from top to bottom. When reading nursing home reviews there is so much negativity that it can be frightening. The reality is that no one wants to be sick and in need of nursing home care. Go and observe, do your research and visit often. Be an advocate for your loved one. Delmar Gardens West was a good choice for my Mother in Law. read more

I tried to do service for school and got kicked out the first time. called later at night to schedule it for a different day because I had stuff to do after school and got hung up on twice without a goodbye or anything. Terrible service. If they have bad receptionists who are supposed to be in a good attitude, think about the rest of the workers. Don't recommend! read more

The Staff Is Very Unprofessional,Rude,Non-Caring, No Compassion For The Patient, I Do An 12hrs PD Shift , They Might Come Check On Them Twice Within A 12hrs Shift. My mother was recently in this nursing home for more than 3 months while recovering from an ankle break. She was given minimal physical therapy- 15 minutes per day- while the physical therapist was with 2 other patients at the same time. She was in very weak condition when she left this facility. The staff would put other patient's clothes on her that were too small, tight or had holes instead of her nice clothes. The staff would wake her up at 5:30am, dress her for the day and then put her back to bed, where she had trouble getting back to sleep again! read more

My father tested positive for COVID while in Delmar Gardens. They would not take his cell phone to him to the COVID unit after numerous requests so I could talk to him. Next thing I know they are calling to tell me he is on oxygen, unresponsive and has a fever. They let me go see him and I could not get him to respond to me. Less than two days later after them telling me I should just let him pass peacefully I had him admitted to St. Luke's hospital. ER physician called me and told me that he was severly dehyrdated. They were able to give him fluids and get him to wake up but my dad was never verbally responsive after that. He had to be put on a temporary feeding tube and never recovered. He did have dementia but prior to this he could eat on his own and respond to me. My dad passed away on hospice on January 17, 2021. I firmly believe Delmar Gardens West is way understaffed and they allowed my dad to become so severely dehydrated and ended up comatose. read more

You would be a fool to leave your loved one here! My Aunt just passed away. The treatment we received at the entrance was uncalled for! Then we had to wait for their BS after they called us to say our goodbyes. I demanded they take us NOW to see my Aunts body. The Hospice nurse they sent to us didnt even know my Aunts name.. Kathlynn no heffa Carolyn. Then lied said she was talking and aware it was bath day. How when I played Al Green and James Brown yesterday she was not alert. Not alert at all since we were told she was transitioning. How Delmar Gardens?? Her Sisters went to see her days before and she was alert I have a pic. 8 days later DEAD and KNOWONE has told us what happened. In the end no time to say last goodbye we packed her things and got the hell out of there! Good luck with your loved ones find another home this is not it!!! read more

Stay away from here!!! They almost kill patients many times! There is mold on the walls and the place smells like death. The staff is over worked and fails to do their job! People coming in and out of the place in ambulances because the place is neglectful and filthy. The owner, Richard is a conceited parasite and is careless, he only cares about his money and will stop at nothing to suck each and every penny out of your savings.
