Between other family members I have probably been to at least two dozen area senior care centers (from alright to not acceptable). None of them come close to the care our mother has received here. I called many other facilities that had a continuum of care and they all said that our mother would be skilled nursing (because she requires help transferring and dressing) which would be $6,000+ per month for a shared one room. St. Agnes said they thought they could get her to improve and be more independent and they were right. Here she has her own studio apartment. They are genuinely concerned about all aspects (physical, mental and spiritual) of our mother's wellbeing. She has been here only a month and we have already seen a physical and mental improvement in her. The nuns are very compassionate and coordinate every aspect of her care.

The aids and nursing staff were usually very upbeat and pleasant. Everyone can have a bad day now and then and no place is perfect, but by and far everyone did their job and I never had to go far to find someone if I had a question or if Dad needed something. He liked the food and the activities they offer are awesome. Dad enjoyed the music events they have twice a week. Pathways hospice is superb! Dad was on hospice two different times before he passed and they all went the extra mile for him. They kept me informed at all times. My mom lives next door at Garden Villas and I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and facilities there, as well. I am glad our elder care attorney recommended Delmar Gardens.

Instead of responding to her aggressiveness and rudeness, w/ rudeness in return Instantly stopped what I was doing and did what she asked.(The aide then came to me and said that the resident had told her that she had been asking for a pain pill since 9pm) my shift didn't start officially until 10:30 pm and nobody notified or reported it to me until the aide did . 7 minutes before the supervisor came to me with demands.) A hour 30 minutes passed and this supervisor came back stating that she was sending me home and she talked to administration already. I asked to speak with the Adon, Don & Administration. She told me no and that she wouldnt be calling anyone. I told her I had every right and she couldn't deny me going through the chain of command when I did nothing wrong. I said I Would like to talk to the DOn and finally she said okay we can. We were suppose to count and she stepped away to have a private conversation with the DON to get her to back her up. I was looking for her and listened to their conversation when I Realized what she was doing, she then came and told me after I Sat down that the DON stated she wasn't talking To Me , there was nothing to talk about and she was backing up her supervisor. I asked to talk to the administrator, she told me no again and I explained to her that I drove 3 hours to come help to get treated like dog crap for doing nothing. I found the administrators number . She was rude. She Let me start to explain and then mid sentence stopped me and stated it was 2 so in the morning why was I calling her basically and that's how i felt being 3 hours from home being picked on and no where to go . I explained everything and she literally gave no care in the world. Was only worried about her sleep when i would have to sleep in my car. I Asked her did it not matter that staff was there and witnessed it. She said if the supervisor unassigned me then she would just leave for now because she's not there. She then immediately called to discuss how I called her at 2 in the morning. The supervisor stated again she told me that I couldn't talk to her until the morning and that she told me to call tomorrow but she guess i still decided to call after she had it handled already. DOING A URGENT MATTER THOUGH. She told me she was sending me home because I ignored her. Her exact words. Even though I immediately followed the order given. Her Pride allowed her to be a bully. During A URGENT MATTER. I did count and during so, The supervisor susan then implied that i stole a whole card even though stating the count was correct. All because their in house staff failed their duty to archive the card once it zeroed out and left the count, which could have easily been done because it automatically populates. She called her friend the DON and tried to tell her she didn't want to subtract the card because even though the count was correct, she didnt have the empty card. Thankfully the DON instructed her to subtract it due to the count being correct. I will be calling corporate and filing a complaint on Jeanna , Susan and Becky. Agency shouldn't be treated like garbage just because we're not on their payroll. You couldn't depend on your staff and i left the comfort of my home 3 hours away to assist. I have never been treated so poorly. They are unprofessional, inconsiderate, Rude & Selfish. All about themselves . NO COMPASSION. You have To Lead by example and they don't demonstrate characteristics of a leader. Every building I go to calls me when needed because I'm Dependable, compassionate and a hard worker. I don't Appreciate how I was treated. They also didn't cancel my shift. They're trying to avoid paying me my 4 hours for canceling my shift. I recorded a video of them making me leave after 0300 AM so they couldnt say I left prior. We had to do count she made calls during so. Which would still put me at 7. I'm about to start recording all conversations.

Our NIGHTMARE started the first morning, my mom called me crying at 11:20am and said nobody got her…read moreout of bed yet, no meds, no breakfast. So of course i was so upset, ready to come up there and get her up myself. I called and talked to the front desk. Eventually, she did get out of bed maybe an hour later. When we inquired about the reason she was still in bed at 11:20am, we were told, We didn't know her preference."!We heard this statement many times during her stay. She was left in bed many times throughout her stay there and they always had the same excuse. Seemed aggravated we would even be concerned about it. There was not one week there wasn't an issue. From, CNA's being verbally abusive to CMT'and nurse's not giving her medication, nebulizer treatments and insulin, her not being checked on regularly during the night. Not receiving her dinner, to which we were told she received it and it came back untouched. No accountability at all, and i mean NONE. Every-time we would ask, Beth the director of nursing would say, "We have to educate staff." EVERY TIME. She was not given her textured altered (pureed) diet. I was so worried she would choke. They did not care AT ALL. Mauri, the day nurse supervisor never had a moment to address anything and always called my mom by a wrong name. She was mean to our mom, even other CNA's told me she (Mauri) "couldn't care less about your mom." So many incidents. She had scratch marks on her one time, and again we got"we will educate the staff." One time she hit her head on the headboard of the bed because a CNA threw her legs into the bed and no one let us know nor seemed to care. They seemed more aggravated that we were upset about it. We eventually installed cameras in her room, and that did help. We still had incidents though, and not minor ones. She had a CNA yell and pointed in her face, and yelled at her and told her to "eat your food and drink your drink" then walked out with my mom crying help me help me, again, we heard, "we will educate the staff." And also, the director of nursing, Beth went in further to tell us "she was not working with your mom that day, just helping out passing out trays and didn't know her". What!?'! So that makes it ok? The executive director, Michael, tried, i will have to say. I am sure i was a thorn in his side because I was in his office at least once or twice a week. He tried to rectify the problem.He would listen and generally seemed concerned. The problem was his directors didn't help him solve anything. The social worker had an attitude most of the time and was terrible at follow through. By the time my mom received her communication cards, she could no longer use them. I felt like i was always needing to fight just for adequate care for our mom. My mom had some fantastic staff, particularly, Dana, a nurse who worked in the rehab section but subbed on the nursing floor, was exceptionally great, and Lucy one of the overnight CNA's was good and my mom liked her. She had others that were good also, Victoria was another great CNA. It was my mom's home. She passed on June 13th, 2025. I did a lot of the CNA work (not just during her last days but the whole time she lived there)., when hospice came in, it did help, although when they were not there, I did the CNA's job most of the time. I needed to, otherwise she wouldn't have had the care. I rotated her, wiped her bottom, changed her, fed her, all things the CNA's are paid to do, but i needed her last days to be good. There were times i would go try to find someone to help me change her or rotate her, but to no avail, so i did it myself. The whole experience was horrendous. They were always saying to us they needed to educate staff, so hospice said they would be happy to inservice staff about ALS. They never took hospice up on that offer nor would they listen to the family when we tried to explain her needs. We appreciated the executive director coming to her room on what would be her last day, and ask how things were going and made sure we had snacks and drinks. But no one and i mean no one from administration ever offered their condolences, through any means, email, card, text, etc. No one. My mom paid $350 a day (private pay) to live there. Not one person from administration ever has contacted our family and said sorry for your loss. What does that say? Their were CNA's that offered their condolences and one nurse actually came to the wake. She became like family to us and we were so appreciative of her care for my mom and that she took the time to come to her wake. We didn't expect administration to come to anything, but we did expect at least a quick email"sorry for your loss." Please please don't make the same mistake our family did. Really reconsider if you want to place your loved one in this facility. You will have some good days but mostly horrible days that you will worry constantly if your loved one is safe or not. -The Kuhlengel Family

What a difference the current management (2/2024) has made over the prior management. The last two…read moremanagement installations were anything but stellar and the facility started seeing a real decrease in quality and services. With the current management this has been turned around. They are working on getting a few of the Kinks out but have come a long way over the prior gement or should I say prior managements. Current management has put their hearts and souls into making this a better place and improving the quality of the care and just the overall feeling. Kudos to the current management

We were able to be with mom every day for all of those years,often multiple times each day. We have seen it all!! Within the past 2 years Westview has been under new administration. It has become a different place. The director of memory care has been so impossible to work with, 9 of the best CNA staff have left WV. She has been rude and disrespectful to me and my family. She doesn't even look at us when we speak to her. My sister has refused to talk to her since Dec. 27. When I tried to talk to her , She closed her door and pretended to not be in her office, I loudly said. "I'm not leaving until I talk to you. " she finally came out of her office. On another occasion I asked if memory care was fully staffed that day. Her response to me was. "YOU DON'T GOTTA KNOW. " I did have the right to know. On another occasion I asked a CNA if there was full staff, she responded "yes, the new girl.. " I asked her name, the CNA said that she was told to tell me that. There was no new girl. Director of memory care instructed a staff member to lie. UNETHICAL !!! I reported that to the executive director. Nothing happened. Myself and several other resident's family members complained that the memory care director, as well as CNA staff talk and text on their phones continuously, while Feeding residents, pushing wheelchairs, working in rooms, serving food. What kind of care are the residents getting if staff is talking and texting on their phones. The staff in assisted living, serving staff, kitchen staff, and office staff, and housekeeping staff DON't do that. The care plan was followed at their whim. I can't count the times she did not have on pjs, She had on a soaked brief, or was pushed off to the side. On multiple occasions mom's thermostat was at 60 degrees in her room. Executive Director was told about that. Her response was to say we'll put a cage on thermostat. That Never happened. Why would anyone put a thermostat at 60? Prior to the new director, staff toileted residents before a change of shift. I NEVER SAW THAT. The halls frequently smell of bm and urine. When asked when mom was toileted, no one had an answer. There was no schedule or consistency. When we asked for mom's shower caddy, the CNA had no idea what we were talking about. Everything was kept in the residents rooms. Pretty sure that is against state guidelines. The good CNA s complain they were given no training by the memory care director. Complaints to the executive director did absolutely no good. Nothing ever changed. She said she was "working on it". Multiple residents have pulled their parents out, stating that "mom's not safe here. " There are some exceptional staff there, but they are fed up with the TOXIC environment in memory care. (Their words, not mine) They know who they are, and we thanked them as we left the building, asking them to take care of residents. Westview asked us to find another community. WE DID, and thank God for mom's new home. As I said on no our way out. "I make no apology for demanding and expecting quality care for mom." We simply were not getting it. For the sake of the wonderful families OF MEMORY CARE, and their loved ones, please DO SOMETHING!!! If you have a loved one at westview of Ellisville, visit there often, visit at different times, and believe your loved ones stories about how they are treated. You have the right to expect quality care, and if you're not getting it, there are other MUCH MUCH MORE caring communities in west county.

Friendly group of women. It might not look like much in some parts but the work done here is worthwhile. Don't let looks deceive u. The nurses pay attention to their clients and their needs. Good views from 3rd floor rooms. Ground hogs was fun wildlife outside on the walks. Pets welcomed to visits and activities to do. Easter services n meals. Would take my dad again if needed!

I question the care during the 2nd and 3rd shift hours when we are not there. She routinely comes up with large black and purple bruises on her arms and legs, and the staff always blames her instead of taking the blame for rough handling. The owner claims this is a 5 star facility...not even close!...but you pay 5 star prices..$300 a day. The "real" 5 star facilities in this area actually look like a five star hotels inside. This place looks like an old hospital inside. The rooms share a toilet without showers. Do your research there are better facilities around.
